Site Info A semi-canon Pern roleplay. Echoes of Pern is set in a 10th Pass Pern, a mere eight Turns after Thread's precipitous and unexpected return. All of Pern is wracked by a deadly virus that affects dragon kin and Pernese alike. In a Pern where Threadfall has returned, dragon-rider pairs are discovering themselves suddenly unable to fight their ancient enemy.

Additionally, strange reports have been coming in for Turns of disappearances, often dismissed as victims of Threadfall, but with increasing frequency. Ships are lost at sea, and then found empty and drifting, as ghost ships bereft of all passengers and crew. Although searches have been made, no traces of the missing people have turned up.

Civil unrest grows as the population chafes under the quarantine, and supplies grow thin, without healthy hands to tend crops and livestock alike.

It is to this altered High Reaches Weyr that our story now returns. To a High Reaches filled with loss, suffering, distrust, and disunity. A High Reaches in need of heroes… which means you.

Another day another dragon! What do we have here? This shy fellow is a Merle Bronze! His name is Kanaloath and he was very concerned about hatching the "wrong" color. What's this fellow? Well, here at Echoes of Pern our players have recently discovered something called Snow Wherries. And they're big. Very big. They're native to the far North in the Snowy Wastelands and come in various sizes based on the terrain!

They're bondable, rideable, dragon-sized birbs and are now High Reaches Weyr's problem. They don't do well in the heat so are best suited to colder climates. Their naming convention ends in -ack.
