      “you’re welcome.” pippa replied with a flash of a smile and a toss of her hair.  while she wasn’t known for being the most CHARITABLE of people, she was bound and determined to enjoy the trip and listening to someone getting sick all morning would only put a damper on things. a win for echo was a win for everyone, really.  “what are you most looking forward to? for me, it’s the shopping. ooh, or maybe wizarding broadway.  dad took me to see a musical in muggle london last year and it was AMAZING.  have you ever heard of les misérables?”

Echo smiled brightly, feeling quite a bit better after taking the vial, though she still couldn’t look out onto the water. “I haven’t been to New York in a long time...” Mostly because that was where the Adley’s now lived. “Yes, I’ve heard of it, my parents love musicals.”

garrick saw the girl from where he was talking to a group of friends and excused himself to go see if she was alright. he approached her slowly and with a calming smile, “hey, you doin’ alright? a little sea sick? i’m sure you’ve already thought of this but drinking some gillywater might help calm an upset stomach.”

Even after a few days at sea, Echo was still sick every time she was on the boat, it was not her most attractive state to say the least. When Garrick walked over to her she gave him as much of a smile as she could. “I tried some on the first day, it helped a little... Honestly, I think I’ve tried everything at this point.”

“Oh, hey, Echo!” The Ravenclaw had caught the eye of Prim, and the Gryffindor stepped forward to stand in front of her classmate. Primrose was all warm smiles as she examined the other girl. Something was off, though. “Are you feeling okay? Do you want to sit down?” Prim narrowed her eyes as she glanced around the deck, looking for a set of chairs to procure.

Echo looked up when she saw Prim, and she gave her a half smile. “Oh- I’m lovely, just a little seasick is all. You’d think after being out to sea for so long it would pass by now.”

     “now that’s the way to go about it. we should head towards canal now, jump on the streetcar.” as they began walking, eva smiled, looking around the streets she knew oh-so-well. “merlin, i love my city –” eva realized that she didn’t really know if the other witch had experienced the allure of new orleans before, “have you ever been in nola before? or is this your first time here?”

“first time. i’ve been to a few other places in the states but, usually my family stays near an ocean.” echo said with a small shrug. “so i’m counting on you to lead the way.”

“are ya alright?” azaria inquired, a kind smile on her features– she couldn’t blame anyone for being sick; she’d been on boats but never a ship; and never for a long length of time either. the irish witch mostly had been tuning it out and trying not to focus on it. she holds out the crisps she’d been eating they seemed to help a little. “would you like one? they seem to help me, but i think water biscuits would help too.. but i couldn’t find any of those.”

Echo looked up and let out a slight laugh, “I’m fine. Just a bit seasick is all.” She said, shutting her eyes tightly as the boat lurched slightly, when she opened her eyes again the other witch was holding out a bag of crisps to her. “I’d love one, thank you.” She said, taking a small bite and feeling slightly better.

      “alright!” evangeline announced to the group that had joined her on the portkey to new orleans, louisiana, where they were now in the french quarter. “stay in your pairs, do not go past barracks street except go to frenchmen street. head down to decatur to go to café du monde and jackson square, st. peter for preservation hall, bourbon for marie laveau’s house of voodoo, to canal to jump on the streetcar to the garden district. feel free to stay with me if you’d like! go ahead! behave yourselves, i’ll know if you don’t, i’ve got eyes all over the quarter and the garden district.” as the group dispersed, eva noticed that one witch stayed. “staying with me then, darling? i’m probably going to head to the garden district to visit some family in lafayette number 1 before i come back and do a quick pub crawl – technically it’s not legal here, bur i’ve got some friends around. interested?”

Echo only wanted to go to New Orleans because she heard it was the birthplace of all modern magic, or something like that. She was so busy thinking about what New Orleans would be like that she didn’t realized all but one person had dispersed. “As, I suppose I am... Lucky for you I’m willing to adapt to any plan.” She chuckled. “And I’m always down for a pub crawl.” She grew up in a wealthy family with wealthy friends, the girl knew her drinks on both the magical and muggle side of things

    dressed in a fitted black tunic and checkered skirt, pippa was ready to explore the ship and take in the rays of the glorious day before them. when she happened upon echo who was was looking a bit green she made a pitying face as she reached for the girl’s elbow. “you’re looking a bit rough around the edges.” she teased, pressing a bottle of potion into her palm.  “i got this from phoenix vasquez.” she explained. “i guess she brewed a bunch of potions to help with seasickness.” pippa shrugged. the witch herself had never felt queasy on a boat a day in her life. “i snagged you one.”  she flashed pearly whites, hair tossed over her shoulder as she slipped her sunglasses down to cover her eyes. they were charmed to repel anything that might smudge them so she coveted them dearly. that was one thing that muggles had NEVER figured out.  “cheer up, we’ll have landed soon. new york is going to be brill, don’t you think?”

Echo had her eyes shut, trying to will away her sickness, it was the worst feeling in the world. When she heard the voice of Pippa she glanced up, she let out a short chuckle at the others joke and when she felt the potion pressed into her palm she smiled. “Of course... I’ve tried every other method possible, but I never thought of a potion...” She muttered before downing the small vial. “I cannot wait to get to New York, and of course on dry land.”

      “       yeh tried tha prunes,       didn’t you       ?       ”       goldie had seemingly materialized beside her classmate.       she’d been in the middle of an arm farting contest with a few of her guy mates when she’d seen echo across the way,       looking ill.       she held her football       —       not to be confused with an american one.       they stupidly called their footballs,       soccer balls      on this side of the pond       —       against her own belly,       staring out at the city in wonder.       “       if it makes yeh feel any better,       theh got me too.       ”

Echo practically jumped when the girl showed up beside her. “Oh- No, I’ve barely eaten anything.” She muttered. “It’s shocking, you can read so many books on how to combat seasickness both magically and non-magically, and nothing seems to work.”

Echo stood on the deck of the ship, clutching her stomach. Whenever her family had dragged her on cruises as a child she had always remained below deck in her room due to seasickness. This time she was trying to stay on deck to be social, but to say she wasn’t enjoying this cruise was an understatement.

MERLIN’S BEARD! Did you see ECHO, rocking the RAVENCLAW house colors in class today? How they manage to look so fit, while studying their arse off during their SIXTH YEAR of schooling, is beyond me. The SIXTEEN year old student is certainly making the ST. CLAIR family proud, aren’t they? One time, I heard someone say they look a lot like some muggle, HAILEY BALDWIN– whoever that is

this here is echo st. clair, only child of muggle lawyer marcus st. clair, and muggle private school teacher alexis st. clair.

the st. clairs had their daughters life completely planned out, she would go to her mothers private school, and someday marry the son of their families dearest friends the adley’s. 

this all changed when echo began showing signs of magic, and when she was sent to hogwarts her parents faked an illness and claimed their lovely daughter was sent to a special hosipital

when she returns home she is usually hidden away, so she tends to stay at hogwarts as much as possible, though she is pleased that she’s no longer arranged to marry that adley boy.
