Week 52: All is quiet...
Wow. 52 weeks have come and gone. I have a real body of work from the past year. Not only have I written and produced 52 pieces of music, but I've also written about 150 ideas that never made it past the first round of selection. Not all of them are good, but some of them are worth expanding. I'm excited about the possibility.
This week's song steals a line from a famous pop hit, though not on purpose. I was writing at the piano, and I often sing and record the first pass of an idea, especially if I'm writing music and lyrics at the same time. It popped out, and I thought, well, let's try it on for size. It fits the mood of the song, I think, and isn't a copy cat at all. I don't know...I kind of like it, though.
To those of you who've stuck it out, listened to all 52 weeks, I thank you. You've gotten to hear my very best that week, and I can't thank you enough. To those who are just getting started, or have attended sporadically, welcome. There's a lot to devour. I hope you get as much pleasure from it as I did.
