'If I see one more five-year-old in a "BE KIND" top, I'll go postal at a pre-school,' said Juliette.
'All that chat about becoming more right-wing as you get older, I think it's balls. I think we're all born right-wing.
Fascism isn't something people grow into; it's something they grow out of. Fascism is the factory setting for humans.'
'Maybe a better sweater for a five-year-old would say something like "Be Less Fascist". We should make them.' by Sarah thought
ever since I was little I knew I wanted to dedicate my formative years to imagining fictional scenarios
“She might well be a recovered druggie, addicted only to coffee and politics, but she wasn't a fucking idiot.”
- Artificial Wisdom by Thomas R. Weaver.
oh to wear a warm woollen sweater and read books in the midst of a forest all day long while sipping hot coffee
I love it when you grab a random book and it turns out to be wonderful like that is the best.

“The farther one descends among the lower schools the more, naturally enough, does one find teachers' and pupils' doubts of their own knowledge vanishing, and a superficial culture mounting sky high round a few precepts that have been drilled into people's minds for centuries, precepts which, though they have lost nothing of their eternal truth, remain eternally invisible in this fog of confusion”
franz kafka, metamorphosis and other short stories (ch:the great wall of china) p.75
“you have to keep learning” They say, “it never stops ,not after school, not after college not after you’ve got your PhD” .like a warning. Like it’s bad news. Like it’s the most terrible, terrifying thing . Maybe it is for them. To me that’s the most comforting five words ever. More than “we can be friends again” in seventh grade . It’s the one thing I’m sure of. And to hear someone confirm it. It’s relief. Honestly what would I do If I don’t have anything to learn.
poem of the week on my notion homepage :)
i don't know how i will replace the feeling of structured higher education after my graduation in november. i love learning and thinking about hard concepts and understanding them and then thinking about them some more.
Some Kind of Hate by Sarah Darer Littman is so important for anyone with a son, or a cousin, or a friend. such an important book and easy to read for most ages and reading levels.
my rating with 20% to go is 5 stars, but we will see how they handle the ending
“my girlfriends are unionising. I think i’m going to die”

Just a friendly reminder that reading is political and if you're saying it's not, but are reading books that centre on war/dystopia themes (Hunger Games, Shatter Me), you've missed the point <3333

“The fact of Peter’s ongoing sexual, and also quietly financial relationship of eight months duration, for the participant in this particular illegal tenancy is from the legal-philosophical sociopolitical point of view, a thing of nothing”
sally rooney, intermezzo
