Playing concerts, having actual, real people sitting there singing my songs back, like… I think, like, winning a Grammy was a very special moment for me and like winning awards is great, but it’s a small group of people that agree that they think you’re good. Which is always very flattering, but actually having like mums, dads, daughters, like grandparents, like people coming to concerts and *screaming* your lyrics back at you and really like… You know, paying a hundred dollars to come and watch you play because they love you that much, and they’ll drive eight hours to get there and they’ll sit there for the whole time and they’ll know every single word to every song. That means the world to me, a hell of a lot more than selling records or having awards will ever do. It’s a really flattering experience to feel that loved.
