Such a great quote!! I'm reading a New York Times Bestseller called In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. I'm not at the hard to comprehend parts of the book as of yet.
When I say, "Hard to Comprehend" parts, I am not insulting my readability or comprehensive of a storyline. Knowing the story is about an American Ambassador and his family during Hitler's reign, I know to be expecting harsh, deplorable, and heart wrenching atrocities that no human should have had to endure. I also know how difficult certain reading passages will be because the author stated in his acknowledgments how the writing of this book haunted him.
It's not like I haven't read other Holocaust books. I have and I do as to not ever forget. I feel I have a duty and an honor as a writer and history lover to keep in remembrance this crucially painful time in our history.
In reading The Garden of Beasts, there is a bright side. I have a goal to be finished by May with the reward to be able to meet the author at my local library. I really appreciate him as a writer because he has lots of footnotes and references at the end of his book to refer back to.
I know you are probably thinking she likes the footnotes, "What a nerd!" Unless, hopefully, you're saying, "Hey, I do that too." In which case you probably always stay for all of the credits of a movie like I do. Hey, I've learned over the years that movie trivia is very important.
