Press for Superman has been going on a little while now, and I feel like the constant theme for myself is being completely out of touch with most everything in recent pop culture. Like I can't tell you if I'm having a brat summer, because I have no idea what that means. Don't ask me what my favorite song release from the last year is, because chances are good I haven't heard any songs from that timeframe. I feel like reporters are often either frustrated by me or mystified by me for having no idea about these things. Though lucky for them, my costars are there to carry me through by explaining things and make up for me being completely clueless with all their knowledge. So, when someone compared me to Miranda Priestley and her assistants for how much they have to feed me information, I got excited because hey, I actually recognized that reference. I'll be happy when press is over and I can retreat back into my world of old time jazz, Star Wars, and my daughter. Even when being an adult is stressful, we're free to do what we want to offset that and have more control over it than when we were kids, you know? So I know it's always something I remind myself of! And we've got a rebel on our hands! Did you end up getting punished for doing that, or had your parents just resigned themselves at that point? I won't lie, there were some things I was like that about when I was growing up despite following their rules on sugar. Like if my parents had limited how many comics I could buy or said I couldn't dress up in wacky costumes like I always did, I'd just laugh and keep doing it anyway. So I guess they picked their battles. It's good for your sake that your kids aren't doing the same things. Though I'm betting you don't tell them they're not allowed sugar or the other things they might like. It makes a lot of sense that you got your proper fill of those things when you were a kid, so you don't feel the need to overdo it. Do you ever have those random moments when you realize being an adult is such a great thing? Looking past all the ways it's sometimes stressful, I mean, and just embracing the personal perks of adulthood? For instance, my parents used to only allow us one, maybe two sugary treats a month in our household, and that's if we were lucky. So of course now, I eat desserts damn near every day, and there's always a lot of excitement around having cupcakes or donuts or iced coffee, all the things I know would have made my parents cringe. Not to mention all the occasions for celebratory cake. And I always do that with a lot of delight because hey, I can make or order and eat as many treats as I'd like. Never claimed I was a responsible adult, but you know, if that means having sweets, that's fine with me. So, what's your favorite part about adulthood? it's fun being an adult, i'll give you that and it's a whole lot better than being a child for sure, even if being an adult is stressful. but i'll be honest with you, mate, i was such a little punk that i did a lot of things i wasn't supposed to do when i was younger -- just to get under my parents' skin. and i was doing it where i knew i would get caught as well, just because i wanted my parents to know i was doing it. and i was the worst when it came to sugar, like if my mum told me i couldn't have a sugary treat, i'd come home with a basket full of biscuits and just eat them where i knew she could see me. i was such a little dick, and it's amazing that my kids turned out amazing and not a single one of them is a little punk like i was. so i feel like i do less of those things now because i did them so much when i was younger -- if that makes sense? and i'll admit i'm picky about what goes into my body now too, but with that being said, sometimes there are moments where i still can't turn down a sweet treat. cupcakes are right up there as being my favorite too, especially those funfetti ones! one of my younger lads is really into those, and every time his mum makes them, i need to eat about three of them as well. so if we're sharing cupcakes, can they be funfetti ones? || @dastmalchianhq

I'm not a father myself but I've heard my friends with kids say they make the time go by unbelievably fast, which I believe when it already does. I don't know why the first things that tend to go bad when we age is our knees, because I swear even mine aren't what they used to be. you're just trying to make me blush by saying i'm a lot of people's goals -- and i'm here for that, it's been a while since i've had a good blush! they really do make the time go by fast, and you can't help but want them to slow things down a little bit and want them to stay little for as long as possible, you know? exactly, mate! like why are our knees what go out first? why can't it be something else on our body? something we don't need as much? mine have started popping when i get off the couch all of a sudden, and it's like, how am i that old already? but you're not wrong about that, and even with my knees hating me, i'll be doing what i love until i can't do it anymore, that's for sure! sometimes that's the worst part of getting older, yeah? when you start second-guessing all of a sudden instead of just doing whatever. alright, i might pop a wheelie or two, but only when my kids are nowhere around so they don't think it's something they can do! you were gifted an arch? that's a nice bike, mate, and don't blame you at all for being a speed demon on that, and honestly, i would be too. and sometimes i'm still a speed demon as well, especially when i'm out on those country roads when no one else is around. but again, just as long as my kids don't know i'm doing it, so they won't do it, yeah? plus, coming home to them is the most important part. but now you've got me wanting to get an arch and see how fast i can make that bad boy go! and thanks, mate. it was a fun tournament, and i'm glad i ended up showing up! and i popped up at another one as a surprise and took home gold, so you might be on to something about that age can't confine skill thing. || @bowerhqs

I'll be honest, I've accepted that I'm an old man in a younger man's body for ages now, just because I'm more interested in things people associate with the elderly. Though when I tell people I don't have social media and don't really like a lot of technology, I suppose they sort of reach that conclusion on their own. So, short answer is I suppose I'd just embrace it whenever I start finding grey hairs! My kids also make me feel a bit old since the two oldest are at the age where they make my wife and I run after them all the time, and even the youngest despite not having walked any yet is a speed crawler at this point. Granted, I still have my moments the way you do involving my kids, since I think realising you've kids who are teenagers or older will always make you feel old in some way when it feels like just yesterday, they were little toddlers running around. How's your oldest doing with driving, though? I'm lucky my daughter didn't give me a heart attack when I taught her, although I get to relive that experience in a couple of years with my son. I think if you're still riding a motorcycle and talking about fighting championships, you're aging just fine! I haven't figured that one out yet either, even if I'm not at the point of having any kids or finding gray hair. Just at the point where I realize I could near maim myself trying to do a cartwheel like I did when I was a kid, so that's fun! Between the riding motorcycles and the jiu-jitsu, I think you're putting us all to shame though, because pretty sure I couldn't do those things now. But yeah, it's sort of weird to realize your body has some limitations on things you never thought about when you were a kid. Like younger me would have been thrilled with basically being on a huge parkour set for 12 hours straight and thought nothing of it after, while older me needed a whole ice bath to recover.
