I am moving to Portland, Oregon!

I am a Black Nonbinary person, and have lived in a rural town in northern California my entire life. Early this summer I went to Portland to visit family and friends, and within 24 hours I knew this was going to be my home.

When I returned to California in mid July I started applying for jobs in Portland, and within the month, I had an offer for a career that I could visualize myself succeeding in, with the skills I already have available to me.

In Portland, I will have access to the medical care I need as a trans person. I will have access to multiple forms of public transit and walkable streets. I will enjoy the cleansing air of the Pacific Northwest and meet people who are just as weird as me.

I knew I had to take this chance, so I accepted the offer.

My start date is September 6, and I would like to be in Portland by September 1.

I am going to need a lot of help to get there.

My biggest needs right now are financial, as I have no savings and have been waiting to hear back from the disability department; and housing.

I am at 37% credit usage and would like to have some savings before I relocate. I understand that is a huge ask given the current economy, so that is more of a secondary goal.

I also will gladly accept any nonfinancial resources and emotional support I can receive, as I am feeling a lot of anxiety about how quickly I need to move.
