What are some of your favourite eel facts?

one of my favorite eel facts is how scientists never knew exactly how/where specific freshwater eels bred, all we knew for a while is that they go from the rivers to the ocean, changing from freshwater to saltwater breathers, and then went ????? somewhere???? and then juveniles would swim into the rivers from the ocean and the cycle continued. we finally tracked them down in the last few years! here they are eating a pizza;
