LGBTQ+ Dating Advice
So many queer people complain about struggling in the dating field, and the advice I always hear is “you have to actually talk to other queer people,” and that’s definitely good advice, but I think some of you also seriously need to reflect on how you come off as well. Because, in my experience, almost every time I’ve been hit on or dated another lgbtq person, they’ve done something unhinged, and I don’t mean that in a fun way. I mean, talking about marriage a couple of weeks in, saying we’re soulmates or bound together after only one date, saying stuff like “You’re not going to leave me, right?” When we met only 10 minutes ago, or saying something extremely paranoid and impossible on our first real conversation. All these examples are based off actual experiences I’ve had, and 99% of the time, they’re why I end things. There’s a middle ground between never putting yourself out there and giving off massive red flags. I know dating is hard when the pool’s so small, but you also have to take accountability for what you could be doing to make it harder.

To anyone who becomes interested in dating me
Please do not bring me flowers. I have severe pollen allergies and a deep bug phobia.
If you were to bring me something, I’d prefer a stuffed animal or chocolate.
