Did you know that the European conger (Conger conger) can reach 2.133 m and maximum weight of 72 kg making them the largest eels in the world! 🐉
i've been really interested in cusk eels lately, especially Bassozetus nasus and Typhlonus nasus (something about eels w the species name nasus???? idk i just love them)- get ready for some posts on them very soon!!
The Green Moray is actually brown in colour - the green appearance is caused by the eel secreting a yellow-ish mucous to deter predators.

Testing out the camera on my new phone, and Pizza was being nice and photogenic. The newer one is still pretty shy, but he’s been tentatively named Breadstick.

this american eel, photographed by clinton & charles robertson, can survive out of water for quite some time! parts of their very long journey to the sargasso sea include squiggling through various moist environments like marshy grass.
the gulper eel (Eurypharynx pelecanoides), also known as the pelican eel or the pelican gulper, is an intriguing deep-sea fish. despite their unusual appearance, they are indeed considered true eels in the order Anguilliformes!
oh also pls suggest eels / long fish <33 i have a lot in mind that i’d like to talk abt but suggestions would be great!
