I really love the whole series of "mighty ducks", but the third film is the most emotional and interesting as for me
the D3 is a classic of its kind: an academy, a closed space, there are bullies, there are weak ones and there are those who fight back against these bullies
and then there is a cool conflict of interests, fascination with old ideals and rejection of new ones. there is a "cyclicity" within one character (I'm looking at you, Adam) who goes through the same path that he had in the first film, only a stricter one. there is a real tragedy that breaks everything, but in at the same time, it serves as a real glue for everything that has managed to break
there is the adoption for a new ideas. not humility, but adaptation. Bombay's monologues about his relationship with his father and why he played in the second film in the first place and why he recommended his team to a new coach in the third part, this is actually my little Roman Empire (one of at least three in this story)
and the whole, whole, whole line of 99 guy. that's it at all. hug and cry, pat on the head and say that it won't be like this anymore. Adam deserves more, better, and apologies, you heard me.
and the finale. It's a beautiful ending with a silent farewell to the former coach, who still continued to save his wayward ducks for at least the last 40 minutes of the film.
on the one hand, it's depressing, but on the other, everyone has their own ways and opportunities in this life, clinging to the past means not moving forward. and what Bombay wanted was not only for one captain, and not only for number 99, in which he saw himself, but for everyone, to move forward and never stop at one goal. because his guys are a real hope and a good example that you can rise from the bottom. rise and take off. and fly.
"Have you guys ever seen a flock of ducks flying in perfect formation? It’s beautiful. Pretty awesome the way they all stick together. Ducks never say die. Ever seen a duck fight? No way. Why? Because the other animals are afraid. They know that if they mess with one duck, they gotta deal with the whole flock. I’m proud to be a Duck, and I’d be proud to fly with any one of you. So how about it? Who’s a Duck?"
