if i’m not mistaken, effy actually was 14 years old in the first series!! although i, for obvious reasons, wouldn’t recommend copying her lifestyle all-around, i feel some of her outfits are pretty appropriate for teenagers!! keyword: some..

what do you think a young adult Effy like early twenties to mid twenties Effy would wear with modern clothing styles? it has been like 20 years or so since the show came out

hey! sorry i’ve only gotten to this ask now, i’ve been extremely busy. anyway, i have to be honest about the fact that i’ve never seen skins fire so don’t know much about effy or her age in it.. but i’m guessing effy’s in her mid twenties or so. you could definitely take some inspiration from that. but, going off of pictures i’ve seen on the internet, her outfits don’t look much like how she’d dress in her younger years. if that’s more what you’re looking for, looking up ‘grunge’ or ‘alternative’ outfits for people in their mid twenties (even though i don’t think they’re going to differentiate between ages) could definitely help you out!

What brands do I shop at for Effy style clothes?

i know it can get really repetitive when people say thrift/charity shops but trust me!! since the show was produced from mid 2000s to early 2010s, it's not that common anymore for retail shops to produce the type of items that are shown in the series. that’s why second hand shops are your way to go!! if you don’t have any of those near you, maybe online shops like ASOS or forever 21 (if you’re in the US) can be useful. but i personally wouldn’t recommend fast fashion.

hi hi thank u for the ask!! i’ve made 2 collages of outfits i think effy would wear

this first outfit is a grungy outfit with lots of neutral colors. since effy likes layering pieces i thought i’d add a skirt and a dress, you could style both with the skull tank top! i added brown docs with that worn in look and some black sheer socks to finish it off.

the next outfit is a little more casual. i thought the socks were very 2008 and kind of funny looking but add some cute knitted white socks if these aren’t your taste! don’t forget to add a bunch of necklaces and bracelets to both outfits and you’ll be dressed just like effy. hope this helped!

How does Effy would act at school? (Outfits, makeup, hair, treating those around her, ect)

we see effy attend college in skins so i guess you could take some inspiration from that, but i’ll kind of break it down :)

outfits

the outfits effy wears to school are very bold and eye-catching. the clothes she wears make her the center of attention in every room, this is proved by the scene in the first episode of seaosn 3 when she’s walking through the hallway. she gets a lot of stares. but that’s what she likes, effy has confidence which makes people interested in her. her style is more on the grungier side which you can achieve by adding fishnets, cuffed bracelets and biker boots to your outfit.

make-up

the make-up effy wears to school is effy’s signature look, just a little more natural. she likes a bold eye look but likes to keep her face make-up and lips natural. i’d suggest investing in some natural skin tint to even out your skin tone, a long lasting eye pencil to tight-line your waterline, a dark mascara and some clear lipgloss. also don’t forget: a good skincare routine is half the work!!

hair

effy mostly likes to straighten her hair, although throughout the show we see her embrace her natural wavy hair more. she likes to add hair accessories to her hair like hairbands sometimes. if you want to ask for a hair cut like hers i’d suggest showing a picture of effy’s hair.

personality

the reason why people are always so interested in effy is because she’s so mysteriously fun. her words never really make complete sense which makes people wonder, and want to get to know her. i’m also guessing effy isn’t really a big talker (pandora will do all the talking) and she’ll only ever talk when she is asked something. even then, she thinks before she speaks. when she does say something she makes sure it’s worth it and it’s not speaking just to speak.

i’ve gathered these things from other blogs i read and from what she’s like in the show so i hoped this helped!

do you have any outfit ideas that are similar to effys in s1 e8?

back when season 1 got filmed, skins stylists had limited budget to spend on clothes for the characters, so thrifting or upcycling your clothes is the way to go!!

this is what i thought of: a black sweater that could be easily found at any thrift store (if you want you could even distress it a bit), a cute floral ruffled skirt, some thigh high socks and effy’s classic biker boots. i think this is an outfit effy would definitely wear out. hope u like it!! and again, sorry i only got to this ask now lol

do you think u could make an outfit that effy would wear to a barbecue? or just a general summer outfit. ^^

sure! i paired some short jean shorts which are perfect for a summer effy look. especially these ones i found in a dark shade of denim. they have cool buckle (?) details on the sides which give the shorts a grungier twist. pair these with a breathable cami top that looks more feminine because of the lace detailing. lastly, add some tights and a jacket if it’s still too cold where you live and you’re done. hope this helped!

i love this question, because effy’s school outfits are some of my favorites! i made you two outfits i think she would wear to school.

this first outfit is semi inspired by the outfit eff wears in season 3 episode 3, when the group goes to an underground rave. i paired a dark feminine mini dress with some sancho biker boots which give the outfit a cool twist. add some long necklaces, a headband and a black hand bag and you’ve got the effy look!

this next outfit is a little more casual, but let’s be real, effy likes to go all out with her looks. i paired a red checkered mini skirt with a black muscle tee. these tees are super cute with a graphic on them too. if you wear a pretty bralette underneath, you’ll be able to see it throught the armpit holes. which, in a muscle tee, are huge. again, style all this with layered necklaces, a black handbag and some cool black boots.

however, if you have a dress code at your school, these outfits might not follow the rules. add tights, a jacket and/or go shopping and look for a longer length dress or skirt. hope this helped!

not rlly a question but i wish the skins fandom was more active like how it was back then :(( its hard to find anyone nowadays whos really really into it

i totally agree! i feel like because the first episode aired so so long ago the fandom has died out a little. i miss the times where all everyone would talk about was skins. it’s a shame :( however, tumblr still has an amazing and talented fanbase in my opinion.

i do think some of effy’s outfits are pretty modest, since she seems fond of layering. so, you could get some inspo from those outfits. but i definitely get that not everyone wants their butt out, especially since it’s still pretty cold where i live :P here’s an idea anyway, because i like making these little collages so much! hope this helped!

maybe add some cool tights or high socks if you’re not comfortable with showing your legs, they’re fashionable and they keep you warm!
