Barbecue, huh? Reno nodded at the idea, giving an indifferent sort of shrug. Food wasn’t his forte and when it came to eating, the man wasn’t all that picky. Although enjoying the act of eating, one of life’s many pleasures, the Turk found it rather annoying. It always took so much time and effort to find what you wanted, and that was forgoing the idea of making it. That was just crazy. Watching his partner, Reno knew how much effort it took to prepare a meal, definitely not something for lazy Second in Command, but the bald man made it look so easy. A trickster the chrome dome was.
Lost on yet another tangent, the Turks mind was brought back to reality when he faintly heard a question thrown towards him. It only took a moment to switch gears, but the arrogant redhead gave his usual smug snort, which was accompanied by a familiar sarcastic twist of his lips.
“Decent, huh?” Reno jokingly questioned. “Ya seriously overestimate my taste buds, yo.” Yes, over the years of chimney like smoking, fish like drinking, and dumpster diving in his youth, it was questionable as to what the assassin found “delicious,” at least by any normal standards, hence why Rude did all the cooking.
And with that, things quickly moved to the exchange of pleasantries, a simple swap of names that was polite and customary among civilized people. Oh yes, the redhead remembered, but it had been a long time since he run across someone who was, not only up on their etiquette, but practiced it as well… other than Tseng and Rude of course, who didn’t count. Bothersome as it was, the Turk felt this man deserved some modicum of respect, so assassin obliged… in his own way.
“Name’s Reno,” the professional thug nodded, speaking past the cigarette that clung to his lips. “Call me ‘Red’ an’ I’ll shoot ya in da face.”
To refer to Reno as a fiery red head would do little justice, but it certainly fit his personality. Had Ignis not already been accustomed to such extravagant individuals in his home city he might have been taken back by the light threat.
“Don’t worry, you won’t be shooting anyone in the face for any such reason today.”
Ignis carried over a slightly smug grin when hearing the response of his new acquaintance about his taste though. Don’t tell me he already forgot the rules of the wager? he thought to himself.
“Now remember that you actually have to impress me with your selection of the appetizers in order to get me to pay for those extra rounds. That is, unless you’re ok with the consolation prize of just the first two.”
