Basically, I have this Ghostbusters comic idea, that I want to post about because its like I get to draw and write, my two favorite things. Plus, I kind of always wanted to do something like this.
What will it be about?: It will be a mix of things, but heavily focused on some recurring specters I have in mind, and maybe even some Tiamat and Gozer stuff!
I'll post concepts tomorrow, but basically I want it be called: Ghostbusters: Overtime
A/N: This is a story about the boys in college, but more specifically, before Egon Spengler joined Peter and Ray's friendship. (Yes, I'm aware of the IDW Ghostbusters comics, Year One, to be exact. I'm going off that and some personal headcanons, enjoy!!)
Light had begun rising over New York City, and the morning had also begun. Bells rang throughout the countryside of Ray's family home, where Peter had been staying for the summer too, after his dad told him to find another place to live. Ray's family saw Peter as another son to them, so it wasn't a huge deal for him to stay.
"What do you boys plan on doing? For college, exactly," Mrs. Stantz asked.
Peter looked down and then to Ray for help. Ray began talking for both of them, "Well, we finally plan on going to college, ma. Y'know, living in dorms too because we don't want to be a burden on you, not like Carl."
His mom lightly slapped his hand and told him not to speak ill of his brother, even in a joking manner, because that's still his sibling. Ray nodded and looked at Peter and began talking, "I got us signed up for Columbia University, Venkman! It's gonna be great."
Peter nodded back at him and asked, "Did you also pick out my classes also?"
Ray shrugged, "We missed that window, but they told me they could squeeze in some classes of our interests if I gave recommendations, so I did."
Peter sighed and nodded, "So, when do we start?"
"Tomorrow."
He hadn't realized that college started so soon; he thought it was at least another week! He decided to enjoy the last day of summer before college, as much as he could, at least. But not too long; it was already tomorrow.
The morning alarm had begun going off, waking Peter and Ray up quickly. Ray turned off the alarm and left his bedroom to shower. Peter, however, swung his feet over the bed and realized he hadn't packed for his dorm yet, so he began doing so while Ray showered. He sighed, remembering that he'd never stayed away from his home for so long. He never liked his dad, but it was still home. He decided to ignore those feelings and grab Ray's bags as well.
Ray had finally gotten out of the shower and began getting dressed properly for school. He noticed Peter was already dressed. "You don't want to shower before we go?" He asked.
"I showered last night, Ray. I think I'll be fine," Peter replied. As Ray got ready, Peter began putting the bags in the car and getting everything set up and ready so Ray wouldn't have to worry too much. It didn't take long before Ray was outside, ready to go. "You ready, Venkman? Big day today, we get to go to our classes, set up our dorms- Hey, I want you to have a head start when we get there. I'll set up our dorm, and you go to your first class."
"That works with me, though I would have preferred skipping all my classes to sleep," Peter retorted jokingly.
Ray giggled and patted Peter's shoulder as he started the car and began driving toward Columbia University. It didn't take long to settle in the parking lot, mainly because traffic wasn't terrible in the mornings- still bad, but not as bad compared to other times. Peter looked at Ray, who was unpacking the bags and heading to the dorms. "I'll be fine, Pete! You can go on to your first class- just go up to that lady in the middle and tell her your name, and she'll give you your schedule!"
He nodded, thanked Ray, and began walking towards the lady handing out schedules. He did as told, got his schedule, and it turned out his first class was women's studies. He smirked, pleased by this, and didn't hesitate to run over to the room it was hosted in. Of course, it didn't take him too long to find it, as it was just down the hallway from where he entered the school. He opened the room's door and noticed a bunch of seats were already filled, except for one; it was right next to some random guy. Peter didn't know if he should sit there or not, but he chose to sit down next to this stranger.
The stranger paid him no mind at all. Peter took slight offense to that and tried to make some conversation, "You new here? I am. Y'know, I heard this is one of the best colleges in New York City. But I think the best college is the kind you don't have to go to, am I right?" He laughed at his own joke.
The stranger still ignored Peter's blabbering and stayed focused on writing their schedule. He tried to get a look at the stranger's schedule, only for the professor to walk in abruptly.
"Good morning, everyone. As you all know, a new school year means introductions are needed on the first day. I'll start with myself: I am Dr. Wilson. I chose to teach this class because I am interested in educating the new generation more about women, or, if you are a girl in this class, more about how you may work. I'm gonna call out a random name, and I want you to introduce yourself." She reads her list and calls out, "Peter Venkman?"
Peter raised his hand slightly when his name was called, then nodded. He cleared his throat and began his introduction, "I'm Peter Venkman, everyone. I'm extremely interested in the inner workings of women, so I know how to get them to come home with me. Plus, I believe this class will help with social skills, right?"
"Not with women," Dr. Wilson replies and looks for another name, "Egon Spengler?"
The stranger next to Peter looked up from his notebook and raised his hand, put it back down, then went back into his notebook.
"Mr. Spengler, your introduction, please?" She said.
He looked at her and replied, "That won't be necessary. I do not plan on staying with this class long enough to introduce myself."
"Quite frankly, I don't care. Introduce yourself to this class, please."
Egon scoffed and still refused. The professor was obviously pissed but moved on, calling on other people, but it was all a blur for Peter. All he could focus on was this mysterious stranger who's named Egon Spengler. He decided he was gonna get an introduction out of this guy even if he had to pull a few teeth out. The class ended after an hour or two; he wasn't counting, but he did start following that Spengler guy out.
Egon noticed Peter and stopped. "Can I help you?" He asked.
"You know, I think we got off on the wrong foot earlier, and I'd like us to talk about it," Peter started off.
"Who are you??" He replied back, clearly confused.
"We sat next to each other in that class!- Hey, I think you shouldn't leave it either; this could help your social skills, because look. We're talking."
Egon gave Peter a weird glare, "I do not need advice from a frat boy. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to be late for my next class."
Peter tried to stop him but got shoved slightly by him. Ray noticed it and ran over immediately. "You're already making friends, Pete?"
"Not yet, but I'll make that guy my friend, even if he hates my guts for the rest of his life."
Next Day
Peter took his seat next to Egon once again and decided he was going to make this work no matter how hard it was. But for right now, he sat in silence and kept to himself until he noticed a book Egon was reading. It was a supernatural book Ray had been looking for everywhere around the library during study hall and after school.
"Hey, that book you have-" Peter tried to get out but was interrupted.
"I know what you are, and quite frankly, I am not interested in what remark you have to make about my scientific endeavors," Egon said defensively.
"Hey, I wasn't gonna bully you- you clearly have enough on your plate, I was just gonna point out that my best friend was looking for that book yesterday-" Peter got interrupted once again.
"Then he can wait his turn to read it."
"Hey, you're an ass. I like you a lot, man. But seriously, let's cut the shit. You know I'm not trying to bully you at all and-" He got choked up when Egon stood up, the man slightly towering over him.
"I told you that your friend could wait for this fine piece of scientific literature, but you take it as a chance to converse with me. So yes, let's cut the shit. I do not wish to be friends with the frat boy who has no interest in others but himself. And I know you truly have no interest in being friends with me, so leave me alone," Egon snarled slightly before sitting back down.
"What if I am interested in being friends with a geek?" Peter retorted.
He looked at Peter. "You aren't. I know you're kind."
"Ouch, you play a hard ball. But we're gonna be friends; I promise you that."
Egon snorted and shook his head, "I'm sure we'll be the bestest of friends."
"Don't knock it until you try it, man, I could change your life," Peter laughed slightly.
He shook his head again and just sighed, trying to catch up on reading after being interrupted. Peter just decided to keep to himself for a bit longer, letting this guy get used to him first before he springs anything on him. After class, Peter caught up with Ray and began talking to him.
"You won't believe it, I actually managed to hold a conversation with this guy. And guess what? He's into the supernatural like you!"
"Seriously? That's great! I have to meet him-" Ray got interrupted by Egon walking over.
"Peter, you said your friend would be interested in having this book, and I don't feel like being a jerk and turning it in. It still has two months on it. I hope that's enough time to finish reading it," Egon replied, handing the book to Peter, who handed it to Ray.
"Ray, this is Egon Spengler. He's also interested in the supernatural. I think you two should talk."
bro you should like… make a fic with Moe Green and Louis Winthorpe III just bc
Honestly, I would but I've only seen Trading Places two times and I'm scared of messing up the character💔 but I'll try for you but it will most likely be when Spring Break happens because I have studying and exams to worry about next month🥹
They like kissing after a mission, especially the longer ones
Ray likes the idea of having kids with Egon someday; he wants one girl and one boy
Egon likes taking Ray out on dates every week, Ray's choice
Ray jokes about how they're gonna grow old together, live in a house, have a dog, and grandkids
They both like invading each others personally space since they're dating--yes, they are the stereotypical Sun x Moon relationship
The “If You Leave” Fear: Both secretly fear that the other might leave the Ghostbusters—or worse, die.
Ray sometimes wants to confess how much he relies on Egon emotionally. Egon wants to admit how much he cares and fears losing Ray. But they never do. The weight of the unsaid is almost unbearable.
This is all I got right now. I just wanted to post something small. A Venkmore one will be posted tomorrow--hopefully! It will also be short.

TW: ANGST, NEAR-DEATH, BLOOD, AND UNCONCIOUSNESS
--------------
He finally got the strength to land a blow against the entity. She screeched and skittered away from the area quickly. Peter fell to the ground. He quickly rushed to Winston, who wasn't looking good at all. He was covered and dripping in blood. He began crying and lay his head on Winston's chest, tears streaming down and staining the other man's outfit.
"... I'm sorry... You didn't deserve any of that..." His breath was shaky as more tears came down his face.
"I'm trying so hard to see things clearly, but- I-... I can't.." He continued, tears streaming down harder.
"If you forgive me, then please get up... Please?" He begged Winston, who was clearly unconscious.
"Don't leave me alone with myself!" Peter begged and cried, "That's the one person I can't bear right now..."
He continued to lie there, crying and begging Winston to just get up, but nothing helped.
"Winston- WINSTON, PLEASE, I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY I FAILED YOU- I-," The tears came out harder with that one, "... I'm a failure... Nothing but a loser and a failure..."
"Come on, please! Open your eyes!... Don't leave me like this..."
Peter continued to cry, his breath shaky and heavy.
"He shouldn't be lying here like that because of me... Not him," He thought to himself.
Finally, footsteps were heard. Egon entered the room.
"Peter? Winston? You two alright-" He looked down and saw Peter crying against Winston, "... I see."
He knelt down and checked Winston's pulse, "He has a pulse, but it's slowed. He needs to get to a hospital immediately."
Ray joined in and entered the room, "What's going on- Oh."
"Ray, call 911. We need to get Winston to the hospital immediately."
He didn't think twice before leaving the room and finding an emergency phone to call. Egon got near Peter and put a hand on his shoulder.
"He's going to be alright, Venkman. I promise you that," He reassured, "Now, if you get off him, I can do some medical care to get that probability higher."
Peter didn't budge; he continued to cling to Winston, crying. Egon gently peeled him off and began applying bandages on areas that were bleeding. Ray came back and noticed Peter on the floor, curled up in a ball, crying.
"I've failed him... He's going to die because of me... It's all my fault... I'm a failure to him..."
Ray's heart ached as he got down and began gently cooing and trying to calm Peter down, "Aww, no! You never fail anyone. We're all proud of you in our own ways. Winston is, too! Once the ambulance arrives, we'll visit Winston as soon as possible."
After a fewminutes of waiting, paramedics arrived and removed Winston from the scene and left. Egon put the rest of the stuff in the first aid kit and got up.
"Let's head over to the hospital to see if Winston will be alright," He says.
Ray nods and manages get Venkman up. The three men walked back to the Ecto-1, Egon took over driving so Ray could comfort Peter. Egon would comfort, but he's been known for not expressing enough emotion, and he doesn't want Peter to think he doesn't care when he does.
"Listen, everything is gonna be alright, Pete! Winston is going to be just fine," Ray says reassuringly.
After a few minutes of comfort and harsh road turns, Egon parks Ecto-1 at the hospital parking lot.
"Well, let's see."
They all head into the building and check in. A nurse tells them to sit down and wait, and they do. Peter is still crying, his eyes all red and puffy. Eventually, a doctor comes out.
"Good news, your friend will be fine. Bad news, he's currently in a coma. But more good news, we've calculated he'll wake up-- earliest, three days, latest, a week," The doctor says before leaving.
4 Days Later
Winston wakes up, and the first thing he sees is Peter, face down in his bed.
"Venkman?"
"Not now, Winston. I'm wallowing in self-pit-" His head snapped up, his eyes still red from days of crying.
"Well, don't let me ruin that for ya'," Winston laughs.
He moved so quickly to hug Winston that he began crying again. The two men stared at each other and slowly leaned in and kissed.

TW: ANGST, NEAR-DEATH, BLOOD, AND UNCONSCIOUSNESS
--------------------
After a few minutes of driving, the route didn't take long due to the shortcuts Ray had. He quickly parked Ecto-1 in an open space. They all exited the vehicle as fast as they could. Egon led the way in, and he pulled out his PKE before opening the door. He began scanning around for anything out of the ordinary in the main lobby, then he turned to the others.
"It's best that we split up. Ray and I will search around for any other disturbances. You and Venkman will go search for the entity causing the disturbances," Egon suggests.
"Whoa, you want me to go around searching for this thing? I can't do that, I had such a looooonnnngggg day! I can't be working too hard, y'know, Spengs. My feet are already killin' me!"
"I didn't know you were pregnant, Venkman. Suppose after this, you should tell Janine you'll be taking maternity leave," Egon jokes, but it comes out deadpan.
Peter snorts, "That doesn't sound like a bad idea, actually."
Egon shook his head, then he and Ray walked off, going to check for disturbances. Winston and Peter took the lead on the other half of the building and began searching for the entity causing the problems. They soon ended up in a restricted, closed-off area, which seemed like the perfect place for a ghost to hide.
"Once we get this spook laid, we'll be golden, and I'll have time to get in that maternity leave to Janine," Peter says.
"Man, you can't call off months of work. You're not even pregnant!" Winston replied, chuckling a bit.
"Good to see you laugh at my funny jokes. Anyway, do you really believe this thing is as powerful as Egon says?" He asks.
"I honestly don't know. But I'd rather be safe than sorry, y'know?"
"Yeah, true. But we already defeated Gozer and Tiamat. What other Gods are there that want us dead? I mean, probably not many, we've never done them wrong. Eh, maybe this one is looking for a handsome husband so I can fill that role," Peter trailed off a bit.
Winston shook his head, chuckling at Peter's jokes. Suddenly, the moments of joy came to a pause when the sounds of creaking were heard...
"Hey! Who's out there?!" Peter shouted.
Suddenly, a long tendril of a leg gripped the entrance door, then another, and so on. The two Ghostbusters backed up, and the entity revealed itself: A spider-like female, long, deep abburn hair, and a flowy red dress with blood patterns.
"Hey, spiders are Egon's thing. Go spook him or something!" Peter tried to joke, but the entity's leg smacked him.
Peter got flung into the wall, crashing into it hard.
"Stupid creatures... Lowly beings... You'd be lucky to be dead," The entity said in a deep, static voice.
"Hey! Picking on Peter is my job!" Winston held his proton thrower up, "Back up before I show you what we do downtown!"
She didn't back down; she charged at Winston. Before he could react, she stabbed her tendril deep into his arm. Crimson blood trickled down.
"Pathetic, can't even defend yourself. No wonder you humans are all bark and no bite."
He tried to reach for his proton thrower, but her other tendril also stabbed down into his other arm. Blood trickled down out of both arms now, leaving Winston pinned against the floor. Peter had finally realized what was going on as he shook his head, trying to focus. He looked up and saw Winston pinned and bleeding. He growled and grabbed his proton thrower and tried to get her off by throwing the proton stream, but it wasn't working. She used a free leg to slam Peter back against the wall. He didn't give up and managed to stab her in the abdomen with his proton thrower; she didn't bleed, but it made her mad.
She grabbed the proton thrower, ripped it out of Venkman's pack, and threw it. He kept fighting, trying to get to Winston, and when she realized who he cared about... She kept him pinned against the wall and bit down on Winston's shoulder, hard, making him yelp and scream in pain.
"HEY, STOP IT!- LE-LEAVE HIM ALONE! HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!- WINSTON, PLEASE!" Peter screamed, but no one heard him.

What Am I Supposed to do Without You (Winston Zeddemore x Peter Venkman fanfic) 🍰 (Pt. 1)
TW: WILL CONTAIN ANGST
---------------
Night was apparent; not many cared for it because it just marked the end of a day's work. But not for the Ghostbusters. Night was just a construct for them, and if anything, it meant more ghosts were out and spooking people. They never usually clocked in for overtime unless it was a serious case, like another coming of Gozer; now that's laughable. Nothing has been that serious in years. Now, everyone was doing their own thing: Egon Spengler was in his lab calculating the newfound PKE in New York, Ray Stantz was blue printing something for Egon while occasionally stopping to talk with Peter, Winston Zeddemore was working on Ecto-1 because she had taken quite the hit the night before, and Peter... He was just being lazy, like usual. He never wanted to do heavy-lifting at home unless he had to!
Peter continued to stare lazily at the TV, clearly having no plans for the rest of the day. The sounds of thudding footsteps echoed loudly through the livingroom, he turned to the source: Egon's Lab. Egon rushed out quickly and was breathing heavily.
"Everyone, I assume we're aware of the recent PKE spikes. I understand we don't usually do overtime sessions unless it's serious-" Egon began explaining before getting interrupted.
"Yeah, and nothing can be that serious, right? No one is being slaughtered by ghosts. So, move it, you're blocking the game," Peter tried to shoo Egon away.
Egon glared, annoyed now, "Venkman, it is that serious! All these recent PKE spikes indicate something big is brewing again."
Ray ran into the room quickly after what he just heard. He looked at Egon, expectantly.
"It may not be Gozer or Tiamat big--" He is interrupted once again.
"Then we leave it be until tomorrow. Simple, if it isn't doing big damage, then we should be able to wait," Peter shrugged.
He glared at Peter, "Listen to me now, Venkman, if we wait, it could get supreme deity-level big!" He turned back and began explaining again, "Now, as I was saying, we can not wait. We need to take care of this entity at once, or we'll have to do more than just overtime."
"Well, where's the spook?" Ray asks.
"It appears to be located at the city's Public Library," Egon replied, "At least, that's what the case file said. And no, Ray, it is not the grey lady reborn--It's something much worse."
"Spooky," Ray says, "Should I let Janine know we're clocking in for overtime or-"
"Save it, we're not necessarily doing overtime, we're just taking care of something that needs to be taken care of immediately. If we clock overtime, then we'll have to deal with other paranormal entities afterwards, and I'd rather not."
Ray nods and gets ready. He comes out, fully suited and ushers Peter to do the same while Egon gets ready.
"Get ready, and I'll tell Winston we're going to do a mission at the Public Library, alright?"
Peter groans and gets up from the couch. He hadn't expected his night to be ruined by some dumb entity that supposedly would become Gozer-level powerful if they waited. He got ready, slowly, as he wasn't in a total rush when he should have been. Everyone gathered around Ecto-1 and entered their respective seats. Ray called dibs on driving, Winston, for once, decided to sit in the back with Peter, while Egon called shotgun.
"So let me get this straight, there's a freaky phantom out in the Public Library again? How and why? Do they just choose to manifest in areas that were once, uh- Mandela Nodes?" Winston tried to remember from their last encounter at the Public Library.
"This has nothing to do with Mandela Nodes. But I'm glad you remembered. It won't be on your final," Egon tried to joke, but came off too serious, "It's just manifested to this realm like any other entity. It just chose to haunt the Public Library. But this isn't a normal manifestation, it's a vengeful spirit of some sort, and not the kind that just form to this realm because of unfinished business. It's just angry."
Winston squinted, "So it's just mad and has some power? Great. I love this job."
Egon shrugged, "Sorry, Winston."
He continued walking down the long, seemingly never-ending hall. Every room glowed and echoed faintly with each step he took. He was worried about his friends, but he needed to focus on finding Peter; he needed to stop worrying about Egon because he clearly didn't care enough.. Maybe he did. Ray is going through a lot right now. As he walked, some strange yellow glow came under his feet and continued to glow brighter; it was a shadow of some kind or... Someone. He turned and saw a tall man. This man had a lab coat on, which was drenched in blood in some areas. Most importantly, he looked like... Egon?!
Ray was taken aback by the similarities and tried to back up, but the strange figure had a firm grip on him.
"Surely you have better ways of treating a guest, Mr. Stantz. You are the heart of your team after all," The strange figure said with a creepy smile.
"It's- you- you're Egon!" Ray is shaking now, "But-but you're not! Egon would never be this careless and stay messy."
The figure's grip became strained and painful now, "Oh, I much prefer the name, 'Architect of Perfection!' Egon is a deadname of mine... Always hated it. Nothing but a flawed name, so I made sure everything in my sight and control became perfect. Every single thing."
Ray couldn't believe it; he actually landed in the Architect of Perfection's way. Officer Friendly did mention that no one could find him unless he finds you first, but how? Why would he seek someone out? Then it hit him. The Architect of Perfection can smell flaws from miles away; no doubt that he knew the Ghostbusters were in this plane of existence. The whole team has their flaws and insecurities, so this must be a field day for this guy.
"So you can tell when a person is insecure and has flaws?" Ray asks, "But why- why would you want to make someone change?"
"Make someone change for the better? Or should I say make someone change for perfection?" The Architect of Perfection teases a bit before getting to the point, "You see, Ray, flaws and insecurities riddle the cranium, fill your mind with ideas that you aren't perfect, make you believe you can't be better!"
"Oh, are you gonna say something like, 'Oh well, you are perfect no matter what!!'?" Ray asks with a slight smile and some hope.
"Oh? Oh no, absolutely not! You are flawed. Heavily flawed, Ray. What you need is more than just a touch-up. What you need is a lift in confidence and a lift in your looks! And by God himself, I can guarantee you'll be the best version of you, you can ever be!" He leaned in, now in Ray's face, "All you have to do is trust me."
"Why would I trust a psycho-maniac who believes I need plastic surgery to be perfect? That's a little far-fetched, isn't it? I mean, if I wanted someone to trust me, I'd-" He gets interrupted.
"It's more than what the eye meets, Raymond. I can make you perfect, and you get much in return. You're friends, family, Strangers, even, will all love you and value you! They'll finally notice. They'll finally care about you in a way they could never show before. Why? Because you're a pathetic excuse of a human right now, Ray. But I can fix you. Make you the you you deserve to be," The Architect of Perfection was feeding into Ray's insecure delusions.
Ray's smile returns, slightly. All he wanted was some closure that everyone did care, and this was the best thing he was going to get to that. He looked the Architect of Perfection in the eyes and nodded. He grabbed his hand and the two walked down the long hallway. Ray was a bit scared; he had never changed his whole identity for anyone before... Was it truly the way to get people to care? Did it even matter anymore? He'll be perfect, everyone will notice. Everyone. The Architect of Perfection finally smiled warmly at Ray, or at least what he believed a warm smile could be coming from this guy.
He was still worried about how this would go, but he tried to get rid of that feeling. It didn't matter what he was feeling at all right now; it would be fixed. He was promised it. He deserved it. They got to the room, the Architect opened the door and led Ray in. The first thing he saw was Peter tied to a chair.
"Hey, tall, dark, and horny, if you wanted to invite someone on our date, you should have consulted with me first," Peter says, oddly calm and unfazed.
"WHY DO ALL THESE PYSCHOS KIDNAP MY FRIENDS- I- NO! THIS IS DONE, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU-" Ray is grabbed into a choke hold by the Architect of Perfection.
"Whoa!- Calm down there, you can't just do that to Ray!" Peter tries to defend his friend but gets interrupted.
"Oh, shut up, Peter. No one likes you. But I can make people like you... And make people like Ray," He holds a syringe up and leans it closer to Ray's neck.
He struggles in the taller man's grasp, trying not to get harmed further, but his strength is failing due to high stress. He tried to reach for his proton pack particle thrower, but it was out of reach, and he was more focused on getting his breath. The door breaks down with a loud thud. Egon and Winston walk through.
"Release Ray and Venkman this instant," Egon demands, while holding his particle thrower up high, not hesitating to fight back if needed.
"You," The Architect of Perfection drops Ray to the ground, "Never thought I'd see myself full of flaws again. I thought I got rid of these subhuman standards and focused on more important scientific matters."
"Perfection and science in the same sentence is laughable," Egon retorts, "Every equation is flawed in its own right, but some equations are more useful than others."
"YOU'RE WRONG!" He throws the syringe at the ground, breaking it instantly, "Most equations just end with decimals, but you can just round and get a perfect number."
"Wrong. Rounding a decimal won't always give you a perfect number. That 'perfect' number could still be a decimal, maybe more useful than its beginning, but it'll always still be that number with a dot in between other numbers; it just changed because the people around helped it become what it is," Egon tries to make a metaphor.
Ray looks up, realizing he is cared for. Especially by Egon, that's important. He smiles.
"That's nice, Eegs, but maybe make a nicer metaphor using.. Less metaphor? I don't know, all of that sounded like good-for-nothing junk," Peter scoffs, "I don't wanna be anyone's messy decimal."
"Man, can't just take a metaphor-" Winston tries to get out before the Architect of Perfection screams.
"ENOUGH, EVERYONE! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS- I- I CREATED EVERYTHING, I AM PERFECTION! YOU ALL ARE FLAWS, NOTHING-" He's just angry blabbering now.
"Doesn't that sound familiar..?" Ray asks.
"Moe Green," Egon replies.
"Do you think Moe was the first person he nurtured into this toxic behavior?"
"It's possible," Egon looked down at Ray.
"Yeah, well, it's nice you two are remembering things, but I've had enough of this bullshit. Let's blast this son of a bitch back to Hell," Winston gets his proton pack ready.
Ray gets his ready again and then rushes to Peter to quickly free him. They all get their particle streams on the Architect of Perfection, of course, spacing out so as not to cross streams again. He screamed in agony and tried to fight it, but it was too powerful. Egon made sure his stream was on the highest setting; he wanted this guy to suffer pretty hard.
"Throwing out a trap now!" Winston hollers as he throws the trap out.
The trap lands under the Architect of Perfection. Winston steps on the pedal, and the trap does its job and gets this psycho locked away swiftly and cleanly. Ray picks up the trap and examines it.
"Wait- If we trapped him and he created this world, wouldn't that-" Ray gets worried a bit.
"We need to get out of here before the world collapses on itself and traps us on this dimensional plane," Egon says.
They all get out of the room and begin walking down the Walk of Perfection.
Egon looked back at everyone, "I saw a portal up here, it may be the way out!"
They continued to run. Ray was in the back; he kept up the best he could. After the run, they reach the portal, and Winston and Peter are the first to get through. Ray is up next. He runs toward the glowing blue portal. Suddenly, he's grabbed from behind by... MOE GREEN?!
"I said I'd be back. I'm here to cash in my paycheck," Moe says as he presses a gun to Ray's head, "You should have done what I asked of you, both of you. We could have all been famous. We could have made it! We would have been perfect, but your friend here ruined everything."
"Unhand Ray... Now," Egon demands, he reaches for his particle thrower.
"One move, he dies. You wouldn't want that now, would we?" He tests Egon's patience, "Now, we all could have made it to stardom, I just know of it. SCTV would have gotten the clicks it so rightfully deserves. But, no. We have to have a Unique Ugo to ruin it. Such a shame, really. I would have loved to see this one be with me on a stage."
Ray didn't hesitate and moved his foot and kicked him in the crotch and escaped. He ran closer to Egon, and he reached for his particle thrower, but Egon stopped him.
"I want to handle him, Ray. You've made plenty of sacrifices," Egon said.
He grabbed Moe's head and punched him in the face; the two were now attacking each other. Punches, kicks, hair pulling, and blood went everywhere. Moe's glasses were broken halfway through the fight, and he became too weak to fight back.
Egon rose and kicked his face in, "Wonder if the people will still tune in if you're so flawed now. No one likes a show host being beaten up. I fear your views will drop by... 45.9%, that's drastic. Let's hope you manage since you're perfect."
He began walking back with Ray but was stopped. Ray brought his face closer and kissed him, deeply.
"Thanks, Egon, you're quite the hero, y'know," Ray teases and laughs.
Egon returns the kiss, "Only for you, Raymond. You make my life better by a 100% margin."
The two men finally walked through the portal, home, where they needed to be. Life felt a bit better now. Ray got the closure he solely needed. Egon got to be an action hero for Ray three times. This was finally the conclusion to this adventure; everyone was safe and sound, until next time.
He was so confused about what he was talking about, "What do you mean- Who- WHO DO YOU HAVE?! PETER? WINSTON? EGON?"
Moe gets up and pulls back the curtain to reveal... Egon was tied to a chair. Ray immediately ran over.
"EGON!!" He was relieved, but Moe kicked him back violently, sending Ray tumbling onto his back.
"Ah-Ah, now you comply with my terms and conditions, and your little buddy here gets to be free," Moe smiles menacingly.
Ray grabbed his proton pack particle thrower, "What if I kill you where you stand, Green?! Huh?! WHAT IF-"
He kicked Ray's face, lightly but enough to make a point, "You can't. You're just not the type, I fear. You don't have the sheer guts and immorality to kill a man, Mr. Stantz. You couldn't pull the trigger if your life depended on it. You're weak. A Show-off, even. Not a big deal as you make yourself out to be."
"I'll do whatever to save my friends!-" He gets kicked harder this time.
"No, you won't. If you kill me, he dies too," Moe cleared his throat, "Now, I have a game for us, can't keep the audience waiting now, can we?"
He ran off while discussing preparations for the show. Ray stared at the now-empty hallway and looked back at Egon. He took this as his chance to free his friend while Moe was distracted.
"Thank you, Ray, this will reflect well on your performance review," Egon says.
"Appreciated, Spengs, but- Is he actually stupid? We could just-" Ray gets interrupted.
"NO- NO! NO! THIS ISN'T HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO- HOW DID YOU EVEN- G-GAUH! NO, I WILL- YOU TWO WILL PAY FOR MESSING WITH ME, I GUARANTEE IT! I WILL MAKE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU PAY-" Moe sputters, in sheer anger at the situation.
"Maurice, you should invest in other hobbies than this," Egon says.
"OOOHH, you wanna JUDGE ME?! Look who's talkin', the German who has four PhDs, and thinks he knows EVERYTHINGGGGG! OOOOOOHHH LOOK AT HIM HE'S SOOOO SPECIAL! You know how hard it is to be on television and keep people perfect?!" Moe is having a mental breakdown now, "He said I was- HE SAID I WAS PERFECTION, I WAS MADE FOR IT! I WAS MADE FOR THE SPOTLIGHT AND IF YOU'RE IN MY REALITY THEN- Then.. So are you."
"Should we leave?" Ray asks.
"I want to see how far he goes. I wonder if we can fully break him," Egon replies, sternly, clearly intrigued by the thought of seeing Moe break more.
"No- No! I'm perfection... You're just mediocre. You're a pathetic excuse for TV material! You'd be horrendous on a stage in front of thousands of fans, you'd make people change the channels- you'd- YOU'D RUIN EVERYTHING I WORKED HARD FOR! YOU RUIN WHAT OTHERS CREATE, THAT'S ALL YOU'RE GOOD FOR-" Moe immediately gets punched by Egon, hard.
"Don't EVER talk down to my friend again. I won't hesitate to harm you further.. At all, Moe. I will say this one time: Back up."
"Ohh, no, you're gonna talk big, well, I bet Ray is a failure-" He gets clocked again, even harder.
"I warned you-" Egon is pulled back by Ray, quickly.
"Calm down, hotshot, you've done enough, now-now let's leave and find the others," Ray insists.
Ray and Egon begin leaving the room, but just before they leave, Moe gets one last thing out, "Mark my words... This won't be the last time we meet.. And we meet, I'll make sure you two never breathe again."
Ray shudders slightly and quickly leaves with Egon, clearly shaken by the thought, but he is quickly calmed.
"Don't listen to him, Raymond. What could he do to hurt us again? They can't enter this dimensional plane because it isn't on the same plane as their reality," Egon reassures.
"That's the problem, Egon, every reality is on this dimensional plane."
"Impossible, it can't happen-" He gets interrupted by Ray.
"It can happen because they were all made by the same person! So they exist solely on this plane."
"That- Hm.. That explains a lot. It's not hard for a dimensional plane to lead to other realities because they aren't merged and exist on totally different planes of existence. But it is confusing, that's for sure. Now that we have a simpler answer that this was all created by one person, we can find Winston and Peter," Egon rants a bit before looking back at Ray.
"This guy named Officer Friendly said they were all created by this guy named.. 'The Architect of Perfection,' no one knows his true name, but he prefers to go by that. The "locals" say he's a swell guy, apparently. I beg to differ on that one," Ray adds to the rant.
"Interesting.. Maybe we should split up again, you find Peter, I'll find Winston, and I'll try to get more information on this: 'Architect of Perfection.'"
Ray nodded once again. He didn't like splitting up now, but he had no choice. He prayed that nothing bad would come to Egon again. He began walking in the opposite direction, but turned back one last time, making sure Egon was still there, but he wasn't. He was already far gone. Ray's smile dropped. He had just found Egon, and now they split up again? Did he ever truly care? He didn't even properly thank Ray for saving him from that Television Psycho. He was having doubts about himself again, maybe Moe was right.. He is mediocre at best and won't be good enough.
"Well, my station consists of-" Officer Friendly gets interrupted.
"No, no, no- not- not about your reality.. I'm talking about the reality beyond that door," He corrects himself quickly.
Officer Friendly gasps, "Oh, my mistake, boys and girls!" He winks at the nonexistent camera, "Officer Friendly got a little confused, now let's educate this little Ghostbuster on the world outside of my reality's door!"
Ray looked around, "Who the hell are you talkin' to-"
"Well, you see, the reality beyond my door is called 'The Walk of Perfectionism.' It was created by our founder. He's quite the guy! But the Walk of Perfectionism is the reality outside of the other doors, too, little Ghostbuster! It's a singular dimensional plane on its own. It's believed our founder lives on it, but it's practically impossible to find him unless he finds you first!" Officer Friendly nods again, hoping he helped Ray with the information.
"Who- Who is your founder exactly?" Ray asks, "Is he like horrible?- Like Ivo Shandor, levels?"
"Ivo- Who? Well, by golly, he isn't awful! He made me and the thousands of others outside of my reality! But who is he? Not a lot know him, but he prefers to be called 'The Architect of Perfection.' He's just a swell guy, I tell you that much, little Ghostbuster! Never met him up front, but I'm positive he's swell because he says he is."
He smiles wider as he answers Ray's question. Ray felt a little more helped, but a lot more confused about this world.
"Are there- Others besides you?" He asks.
"Well, of course! I see plenty of guys who look just like me, y'know."
Ray couldn't shake something off; he had a weird feeling about Officer Friendly.. Something felt too familiar. He grabbed some glasses he had on him and put them on the man in front of him, and gasped.
"E-Egon!" He shouted, "Wait, how did I not recognize Egon without the glasses before-"
"E- who now? I can tell you that I am not 'Egon', little Ghostbusters, never heard of 'em!" Officer Friendly replies with that same warm, oddly threatening charm.
"Wait- You said there were others like you, right? Where can I find 'em?" Ray quickly asks.
"Well, that's quite a hard answer; this dimension is always shifting. Hard to find most people here. And whoever you might have entered with is probably halfway to Albuquerque!" He smiles again.
"That helped- nothing, absolutely nothing- Okay- Stantz, you got this, freaky ghost portal and- WAIT, MY FRIENDS COULD ALL BE MISSING FOREVER?!" Ray panics.
"Well now, little Ghostbuster, I never said that. It's just mildly impossible to find those who wander in such spaces. But if you so desire, your friends, you might want to get a move on. I have a bone to pick with this guy here, I plan to work him over!"
Officer Friendly bids Ray well. He began his descent into the rapidly shifting plane, trying to find his friends, hoping he didn't lose them forever. He doesn't even look at which door he goes through and ends up tripping on the floor of some room. He looks around, only to see a tall desk with a phone on it and a fat stack of paperwork.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here, huh? Ya' lookin' for a job, lookin' to say goodbye to those corrupt governments who make you work for pennies? Ya' lookin' for excitement, change?... Or perhaps, fame?" A strange-suited man with.. Glasses this time? Another Egon?
"Egon, is that you? Stop fuckin' with me!" Ray sputters.
"Egon? No. I'm Maurice Green, but you can call me 'Moe.' I'm a big deal around here, don't get used to it, or do, I don't care, you look pretty mediocre anyway."
Ray was shocked by the forwardness as he watched Moe go back to his desk and sit down.
"Get off the floor now, you look sad and pathetic. That ain't showsman material at all, Mr- Say, what's your name? Never got it, all you said was 'Egon' who sounds like a total geek," Moe laughs.
"Egon is more man than you, that's for sure. And it's Ray. Raymond Stantz, what's it to ya'."
"More man, huh? I'm sure. You ain't gonna make it big with that attitude, Mr. Stantz. Pretty pathetic behavior if I do say so myself, huh. Y'know, smiling more could really raise the views and clicks, wouldn't want people to change the channel now, would we?" Moe leans forward on his desk, now in Ray's face, before backing up.
"Aw, well, no matter. I've worked with tough. Now, let's get back to-," He gets interrupted.
"Whatasecond!" Ray sputters, "You can't just insult me and expect me to comply with- with- with whatever the hell you're offerin'!"
Moe looked up at Ray, "Oh, is that so? You don't wanna comply. That's totally fine. Positively fine in fact! I'm sure you'd comply if I were to- Hm.. Hold one of your own captive? Now, that would make anyone comply in a heartbeat! You'd want to save your dear old friend! But you made it clear you'll comply with nothing, so I can just... Kill him."
Peter blankly stared at Egon, "So what? We just jump in there? Hope for the best, maybe? What? Just admire this thing's beauty?"
Egon stared at Peter, clearly unamused by the behavior, "Unless you want to get disemboweled by an anomaly, then be my guest and jump into a mysterious portal you know nothing about, Peter."
"Jeez, lighten up, Egon, I was just asking. But seriously, how are we going to investigate if we can't just get in it?" Peter finally had a point.
"You do have a point there, Peter, but I think we should do more research on-" Egon is interrupted.
"I've read about anomaly portals when I was running Ray's Occult. This glowing blue portal typically contains uh- almost totally harmless entities. Almost. I can't promise all entities inside will be nice, but there is a huge chance that whatever is in there isn't- y'know, totally violent and want our heads on spikes," Ray replies.
Egon nodded respectfully at Ray's observation, "Excellent, Raymond. I'm pleased you could analyze this so quickly. Makes me a little jealous."
Ray actually smiles this time and softly chuckles. Now that they know this portal contains ALMOST no violent entities, they can proceed through, still with much-needed caution. They had their packs on and ready just in case as they entered through. Once the four men got through, they were greeted with a singular door.
"Seriously? Is that the entity? That looks pretty violent, Ray. I'm shaking in my boots. That door might want to eat us," Peter said.
Egon stepped closer to the door and was the first to open it fully. On the side was just a vast area with doors that were labeled. He was confused and motioned for everyone to look around as well, but still stayed together for now.
"What is this place, man? Looks freaky," Winston's eyes squinted as he continued to look at the different doors within the area.
"Looks like whoever created this place managed to create other realities by merging them into a dimensional plane while still staying in their correct realities," Egon says.
"Isn't that a little- y'know contradictory? Even for you, Egon? You said many realities can't exist in one," Peter retorted.
"They can't. And they aren't. The rooms are on this dimensional plan, but the doors lead to separate realities, Peter. They aren't existing on the same plane; they are on their respective plane. It's just confusing that the rooms are on this plane of existence, but the rooms aren't. It's like linking-" Egon gets cut off.
"Boooorrrrrriiiiinnnngggg! Boooo, get off the stage! You suck!!" Peter said with a yawn at the beginning, clearly bored with this rant, "Different realities just linked to one plane, got it. Wouldn't kill ya' to summarize, would it now?"
"That's the problem, I can't summarize this, because everything is serious and needs to be thoroughly discussed. Realities linked to one plane can lead to problems far too unsolvable-" He gets interrupted again.
"Alright, I'ma leave Captain Boring over here, I'm gonna adventure on my own, I'd rather shoot myself than listen to Egon rant about science. I'm gonna find some ghost chicks," Peter began walking away from the group.
"Is that our cue to just- just split up now?" Winston asked.
Egon rolled his eyes as he watched Peter walk off, "I suppose. Though I suggest we keep each other updated thoroughly on the walkie-talkies."
Egon and Winston went opposite ways, trying to figure out what was going on with this dimension on their own, while Ray stayed where the others left him. He looked at the door in front of him. He took a moment to read it.
"'Officer Friendly'? That's- that's a weird door title.. Wonder what's in it," He shrugged and walked in.
It was obvious that Officer Friendly was in the middle of some... Skit? He had a teenager in his grip, and he finally spoke.
"I said we'd have some guests- Oh, it's- Oh my, who are you? You aren't Ms. Taylor, the social worker!" He sounded overly polite but oddly calming to Ray.
Ray panics and tries to think of something, "I'm- I'm Raymond Stantz! Local Ghostbusters for The Big Apple!- I- Hm.. I'm not a social worker, but I do sort of kinda work for the Government- Not really, just have contracts with the mayor and city."
"Is that so? Well, I'll be darned!" Officer Friendly smiled as he threw the teenager back into the cell.
"Who is that-" Ray stares at the kid.
"Oh, him? That's Selvester Parker. He's bad. I hope you're not bad, little Ghostbuster. If you are, you just might be on my most wanted list!"
Ray squints his eyes and just nods slowly, "Right... Right.. Well, Mr. uh- Mr. Friendly, anything you do besides arrest juveniles?"
"I can arrest adults, too!" He smiles, "But this one, painted on one of our cars."
Ray nodded again, trying to focus on the lore he's being given, "Can you tell me about this place?"
Rain pattered against the firehouse's windows. All of this was set against a silent midnight, with no echoes of the street outside, which was odd. Lightning struck beside the window closest to Ray's bed, waking him up instantly. The motion was quick, jolty, and full of fear. He groaned and rested his head in his hands. He shook it off quickly and tried getting back to sleep after this minor inconvenience, but there was something else... The sound of clicking and clanking in the room next door. Ray knew the sound too perfectly; he had heard it for many nights before. He got up and headed to the other room, making sure he didn't wake up the others. He peeked through the doorway, and he saw Egon Spengler, one of his best friends. Egon had a knack for ignoring sleep schedules and just waking up to do work.
"Egon, Egon, Egon.. Again? Come on, Spengs, you gotta at least feel-y'know, a lil' tried? Huh? Am I right? No? Understood," Ray already teases.
Egon smiles at Ray's teasing and speaks up, "Good morning to you, too, Ray. What woke you up at such an hour? Perhaps the lightning outside? I was measuring the amount of strikes early, but I got bored as it slowed down, so I started working on updating our packs."
He smiled at Egon's reply and softly laughed, "Yeah- It was just, so- so loud, y'know? Hard to get back to sleep after that."
He shook his head after he said that. He moved closer to Egon, seeing if he could help in any way. Egon thanked Ray for the assistance, but politely declined as he didn't need it at the moment. Ray nodded and stepped back, understanding Egon could handle it on his own, like usual... He could always make it on his own. Why did he even need friends? He could be his own Ghostbuster and take all the fame and money, yet he chooses to stay with all this chaos. He looked back at Egon working and walked toward the window. He looked down at the empty streets of Manhattan, something in his body aching and yearning for someone, anyone, to just say they care, at least once.
"Hey, Spengs?" Ray calls out while still locked onto the outside world.
"Yes, Ray? You need something?" Egon replied, not looking up from his work.
He felt embarrassed and decided to change what he was gonna ask, instead, "Do you think there's gonna be a ghost sighting today?"
"Well, of course, why wouldn't there be one? There always is, isn't there? Did something happen? Last I checked, the ghost population skyrocketed two days ago, which isn't long, Ray. I'm positive there's still plenty of ghosts," Egon added back, slightly confused and dumbfounded at why Ray would ask such a thing.
He shook his head, walked to the couch quickly, and sat down. He groaned once and leaned back. It felt like he was on the verge of a panic attack, but he quickly bottled it up because there was no reason to stress. Everyone loved him, everyone cared about him... Right? He made up his mind that he was just going to wait until everyone else was awake so he could explain his feelings better and come to an understanding, or so he hopes.

Peter and Winston were now wide awake and also hanging out on the couch with Ray. They were discussing something about sports, which Ray refused to engage in at the moment. His mind was fogged, but he couldn't explain anything yet; now wasn't perfect enough. Winston looked up and noticed Ray acting quieter than usual.
"'Ey, Ray, you okay, man? You don't look so hot- somethin' the matter? You're never usually quiet. Like ever. Y'know, you can tell us anything, right?" Winston said politely and calmly, so he could encourage Ray to speak more.
"It's nothing, Z, I promise. Just would-.. Would like to not speak at the moment," He politely smiled back before letting it fall again.
"Y'know, this- this reminds me of the time you told us that-" Peter begins and then laughs quietly, "That you accidentally kissed Egon because you both turned around at the same time."
Ray stared at him, confused and totally embarrassed, wondering why Venkman would bring up such a thing.
"Peter, what the hell, man?" Winston stared at Peter as well, but more sternly, "You don't say that shit to people. Not when they're emotionally vulnerable."
Egon blushed in embarrassment as well and looked at Peter warningly, "Knock it off, Venkman."
"Ray, come on, man, something is truly bothering you. We all see that. Come on, tell me what's wrong with ya'," Winston lightly tapped Ray's knee.
Ray lightly laughed.
He finally felt like the moment was perfect, so he began opening up, "Well, I've been feeling- feeling like-" But he was suddenly interrupted.
"'Ey, guys- there's this- uhh strange uhm.. Portal-thingy in tha middle of my office, can ya' do something about- like now?" Janine rushed upstairs and spoke quickly.
Egon looked up, interested, "'Portal' you say? Hm.. This may be dangerous, everyone. Strap on the packs and we'll investigate. Janine, stay up here for now."
Everyone rushed to get on their outfits and packs. Ray's movements were slow; he was so close to getting it all out, but now it was ruined, and it seemed no one cared about what he was going to say.. He got his answer then. Peter lightly hit his shoulder and motioned for him to pick up the pace.
"C'mon, Ray, we ain't got all day to do this, y'know. Pick it, wouldya'?"
He nodded at Peter and finally walked faster. The four men made their way down the firehouse stairs to investigate this strange portal near Janine's desk area. Egon brought out his PKE meter and scanned all he could; the machine beeped and buzzed lively, clearly picking up some signals.
"Interesting, there is definitely paranormal presences within this portal. We should continue further investigation with caution."
