"Skinty Fia” is an expression that our drummer’s great auntie used to say. She was an [...] exclusively Irish-speaking person. [...] It roughly translates as “the damnation of the deer.” I don’t know, it sounds like mutation and doom and inevitability and all these things that I felt were congruous to my idea of Irishness abroad. Like if you go to Boston, that expression of Irishness. That’s skinty fia to me. That’s that mutation. That’s a new thing. It’s not unlicensed and it’s not impure. "It isn't often our archives receive something quite this special, so when we got an email regarding some UNSEEN ARCTIC MONKEYS PHOTOS there was quite the hubbub in our office!

Taken on 22nd January 2006 the day before the launch of their debut album (and their rise to stardom), the support line-up came from @/milburnmusic, @/Reverend_Makers & The Harrisons, and marks AM's last Sheffield headline show as a band without a number one album to their name.

Our sincere thanks to Jasmine who dropped these off for us, a 15 year old fan stood at the barrier on the night capturing a true snapshot of Sheffield and indie music history❤"
