Doom (1993)

I actually had the chance of pretty much coming into this game completely blind.I’ll be blunt quick. This game is a decent. I can see how everyone would have loved it at the time with how bloody and gory it is.

This game for me was a long trudge through a ton of halls. I basically mowed down the hordes of hell just because. Now that’s not to say it wasn’t fun. I had a blast for the first couple of chapters. However around the third episode of the third chapter the game started to drag. I’m glad that I had the chance to experience this game from start to finish AND with no cheats as well. (I was playing the BFG Edition on PC which doesn’t allow cheats.) 6/10

Call of Cthulhu®: Dark Corners of the Earth

As others have said this game is a huge mess. It has game breaking bugs that force you to restart the game. I hit one after 2 hours of playing and being about 25% of the way into the story. When I decided to go online and check how I might possibly fix it everything I read said one thing. Start a new game and hopefully it won't happen again. Well when you're that far in it just isn't worth it. Things were only just starting to pick up.  I only hit one of the apparently several game breaking bugs.

I was actually really looking forward to playing this game. It looked like a good time to have. However I didn't listen to all the warnings. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS. This is a bug filled mess that felt as if it wasn't tested for bugs. I plan on watching a play through of the rest. I suggest you do the same. 3/10

Reason I Need Feminism #7,344

Because every female mechanic, carpenter, electrician, etc wants a bright pink tool set on the job. Never mind that these are some of the lowest grade tools you can find.

You’re literally in a section labelled pink tools. There aren’t any visible signs I can see that read “for women!” Even if there were, it’s not as if someone is holding a gun to every woman’s head and telling her she has to purchase the pink tools or she’s out of luck. If you honestly feel like this picture is why you need feminism in 2015, you’re just proving that modern-day feminism has run its course. When one of your biggest complaints is regarding pink products being available in a store, it’s painfully obvious that you haven’t faced any real sexism/oppression in your entire life.

What even…? Well, considering my dad isn’t an asshole who would scoff at me spending the money I get from my minumum wage retail job on a gift for him, I’m going to assume he’d be perfectly fine with receiving tools that happen to be pink. I truly feel bad for you if you think your dad would react negatively to a gift just because of its color.

Anyway, geoffryhawk already pointed out something which I had previously overlooked; Pink Tools are a brand of tool. I double checked this and, sure enough, the site has the exact shame shade of pink plastered all over it. The three original founders are three women and one man. Who’s reaching, again?

Beating a woman for speaking out of turn because you think men are above women is misogyny. Executing a woman for being raped because you think she has brought shame upon your family is misogyny. Three women and one man banding together to create cute tools for the general public to purchase isn’t misogyny. You can’t just deem everything you don’t like to be misogyny.

I've been looking for tools that will make it easier for me to differentiate between my tools and my coworkers tools. These pink tools seem to be a good choice. If I knew the brand was of high quality and it was rated so that I wouldn't hurt myself while working on live wires I would jump right at them. Especially at an amazing price like that.

Burial At Sea Episodes 1&2:

Episode 1 made me feel exactly like I did when I played Bioshock Infinite. Everything was new, fun, and exciting. Ending was lovely and was expected but played wonderfully. 9/10 Episode 2. No. Just no. It made me want to just put it down and play Dishonored. I’m sorry but it just felt odd that I wasn’t playing however I wanted. It made me feel as if I would be punished for shooting the actual guns so I played through 100% non lethal. Big mistake. I got no satisfaction from the ending and played so careful that I didn’t enjoy it. 5/10

Bioshock Infinite Review

My first time I played was on PS3 and it looked great. A brand new Rapture now called Colombia. Far brighter and much more active. After its release it became a huge hit raking in large numbers and even larger praise. However, does it still hold up 2 years later? I just finished playing Bioshock Infinite on PC and oh my word does it still blow me away. It looks even more beautiful than before and it plays just as well. The games opening still gave me chills. The new powers and ways you can use them have ultimately made it a fresh new way to play that's still familiar to players of the original game. The overarching story is actually deeper than anyone expected and that is where we get most of the talk after it came out. Bringing us to your partner that you have throughout maybe 80% of the game. Elizabeth is a very touching character and you can see and hear her emotions very well. At first everything is new and she is almost always happy but her character goes through big changes. Luckily you don't have to babysit her. In fact she actually helps you and takes care of you more than you ever do her. The villains actually have back stories that you can dig deeper into and I actually felt like I started to sympathize with them. The moral choices are there but very subtle but that's about where the positive ends. Sadly two years later I do actually have complaints about this game and it's odd to say that. While the story is an amazing one I realized that you get thrown so much of it at you right in the end of the game. Then as the credits rolled and I thought about it. I realized that I wasn't blown away anymore. I already knew what to expect from the ending and I found it hard to let myself enjoy it because the plot in itself is a plot hole. Think about it. If there are infinite tear universes with infinite possible timelines. Then what is to say what you did actually stopped it all? (Hint: It doesn't) It's at that point when the credits are rolling that I should feel happiness and possibly even a rush. However I just felt sad for certain characters, even worse for others, and I felt as if I hadn't a done something right. I didn't even played the game since my first playthrough so it was basically a fresh start. So why is it I finished feeling so off? It was because I knew what would happen and that my way of playing and my choices had no effect on it. Characters would still die and the ending would stay the same. After all of that I'm not saying that I hate the game or even that I think that it's a bad game. I still think that for its time of release it was a great game and an even better way to spend time. Especially if you've never played it before. It's not just a game it's an experience to live through with a damn fine story and even better characters. So ultimately I'll give it a well deserved 8.5/10.

Bastion Review

Bastion in my personal opinion is a decent game that has been over praised. I found myself more mad at it towards the end thanks to the narrator and the fact that nothing truly happens in the game. I had fun on the first half and the music is great all the way through. It's made me want to play the next installment in the series. 7/10.
