“Ahjussi will you be my oppa for the rest of my life?”
G O B L I N - yes, you read it right. I’m literally fangirling just over the first episode (idk how I’ll live through the other episodes). this one is just a lovely way to start the whole drama.
Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) here really is starting off as the cold and divine goblin, but there were some times when I see that youthful youngster underneath all those burdened life.
But then again, DID YOU SEE DONG WOOK’S SHOCKED FACE???
IT WAS SO CUTE THE FEELS I CANT.
Dong Wook almost wasn't GRIM 😨
!*[Some Spoilers from episode 12]*!
I believe a Kdrama Actor does their role to the fullest when you can’t picture anyone else as their character.
Dong Wook was not considered for the role, in fact he was turned down due to the writer believing “he did not fit the character”. Through Dong Wooks own perseverance, he was able to convince the writers and land his role as the Grim Reaper.
I can honestly say there is nobody else I would like to see in his place. He is playing this character SO FREAKING WELL. Although he’s not playing the “Lead” I’m honestly much more interested in his character. I found myself rooting for him! It’s all a mix of good writing and directing , but at the same time it has a lot to do with the actor. 😊
So what is it about GRIM that makes him so lovable? For one, he is very relatable when it comes to dorkyness and his ability to be as awkward as possible. Although he lives a sorrow life with a dark rooted job, he is still an unimaginably kind and loving person. Despite his history, he is very pure and innocent in his new life.
I believe his sins became sins through manipulation. He wasn’t suppose to be this evil and angry king, but because he was young and relied on an unfaithful adult who filled him with fear and the idea that love and trust were bad, he became that way. He never had a chance to be the better version of himself. This it’s self brings light to the people of today’s world. As the audience, you see who he really is, the struggles he faces, and you want to protect him. His sins are still sins in the end, but will the Goblin be able to forgive him? Will our beautiful Bromance die?
Can’t wait for episodes 13&14
Seriously……didn’t need another ship……they’re killing me……
