Finished the Master Grade Gundam Barbatos Lupus yesterday. The frame has gotten some improvements over the original Barbatos to make it more sturdy, though I find that the design of the feet still makes it hard to have them flat against the surface the kit is standing on.

The Lupus stands a bit taller than a typical Gundam. The joints are designed to be able to hold its sword mace with only one hand without any sagging. The sword mace itself is also hollow in the blade, which helps make it lighter. Aside from the sword mace, the Lupus also comes with a pair of smaller maces and arm-mounted auto-cannons. The backpack contains pair of hidden sub-arms that can hold the maces as well as, meaning the Lupus can hold all of its weapons at once.

I also picked up an expansion set for the Lupus that includes the Valkyrja Buster Sword. The sword can be separated into the blade and a mace and measures at around 15.5’ (39.5cm) at full length and the handles can retract down to 13.5’ (34.3cm). It requires a separate set of hands to hold. The expansion set also comes with a pair of rocker launchers for the arms, effect parts for the eyes and left shoulder, battle damage parts, and a stand for the Valkyrja Buster Sword ti support its weight. The sword’s handles can also twist to adjust its position in the Lupus’s hands.

I’ve generally been fine with the deviations from the campaign that The Legend of Vox Machina has made (what with pacing issues from being a shorter form of media and also wanting to explore different ways the story can play out) but personally, the changes have just not been hitting for me this season for the most part.

Sadly, Taliesin saying that Bolaire can't easily possess someone who is too many levels higher than him still won't stop people from suggesting that they put him on obviously super powerful boss-level enemies.

So it turns out that, if his letter is to be believed, Bolaire CAN in fact not possess someone if they put him on, which tells me that every host he's ever had was intentional on his part.
