Crown-less Idols
He was there again at that, close and closer within the blink of an eye, with his fingers gripping in a hard vice around her jaw and lifting her off the ground, where he held her up above himself and stared into her eyes. His illusion was cracking with the force of his fury, ripping back on one side for the shadow of his horns to appear on the ground, the silhouette of his kingly body and not the human guise he wore.
At first, nothing was said. Although his wrath was evident in the crawling chill throughout the air, which threatened to freeze the earth beneath his feet, Laufey remained impassive in expression. He gave her nothing, carved as it from cold stone.. rigid and immobile…. he had been king for many centuries, the stone in the water smashed upon with every tide until the harsh edges were made smooth… but what remained was a sentinel, a guardian, a mountain perched with one foot in the ocean and the other on land.
He was the Frost King, the immovable object that had met the unstoppable force-….and hadn’t budged an inch.
“Yer feelings on Jotunheim matter little, unless you mean to say ye also do not place value on yer life. Regardless of which realm ye reside in, I am yer king even still, and to lie to me would be to invite my ire. Do not test my resolve.” He told her now, low as a whisper and hard as nails.
As soon as Eira felt the fingers grip tightly around her jaw, her cold hands locked around his wrist. Sharp nails would press against his skin, yet her gaze would remain calm. Ice would begin to form along her hairline near her temples and spread down her cheekbones and across her forehead. Slowly they encircled her bright blue eyes, cracking and forming patterns. Baring her teeth slightly at him in a displeased expression for a moment, she snarled at him. The blueish colour of her jotun skin would spread to cover the before soft, light brownish skin of her human disguise.
"I left everything about the Jotuns behind. I do hold my life dear, but just not the life as a jotun. So little do I care if I lie to you, my King. You mean nothing to me. I have only little respect left for my own people." she hissed at him, yet her voice lowered to a whisper as if she was afraid something or someone would be listening.
