i think it is nasty and disappointing that your response to black people and poc calling you out on your behaviour and attitude towards lewis is with a post littered with patronisation, saying you won’t pander (is if addressing your harmful behaviour is “pandering”) to anyone but yourself and essentially saying ~ if you don’t like me, fuck off ~

your posts don’t happen in a vacuum. you don’t have some innate right to pick apart and hypothesise with racist undertones on lewis’s personality, relationship to his family, and even his trauma free from criticism.

apologising is free. addressing your own thoughts and behaviours is free. turning it around on us and saying it’s our fault for giving you influence and we’re the problem? nasty.

I'd like to take a moment to call out some extremely questionable behavior I've noticed over the years in the F1 fandom on tumblr, and more specifically, in the Lewis Hamilton fandom, from people who have gathered a large following due to their so called "race reviews" that focused mainly on Lewis and pointing out everything he was doing wrong both personally and professionally(according to their opinion as a psychologist)

The racially charged undertones, the microagressions, the talks of paranoia and insecurity, the psychoanalysis of his own father, discussions about being toxic and manipulative to his white coworker(who is always well balanced mentally while he is busy being paranoid and playing mind games) are all just normal OpiNiONs to have on THE ONLY BLACK DRIVER on the grid.

Thoughts and opinions that don't stop them from sexualizing him, though.

As per their own words when called out on it, we should all block and move on to not see it instead of calling it out, as everyone is entitled to their racist, deranged opinions.

Everyone engaging with this buffoonery and dehumanization needs to sit down and reflect about how damaging it all is, especially as a Lewis fan

Been thinking a lot about how people speak about Lewis in relation to other drivers.

He's always there to push, to inspire, to motivate, to open doors. Always doing something to cater to their needs. More recently, that focus has been on Charles alone. Before it used to be on George.

This in particular really pissed me off(ik ik it was a jOkE)

Lewis is spoken about as nothing more than a stepping tool for their faves and it's disgusting

Also making everything Lewis does about someone else every time.

gets to co-chair the MET Gala, the theme being centered around black fashion - omg hope he gets Charles an invite(and what's Charles gonna wear omg let's discuss bestiess)

makes historic move when signing with Ferrari - omg hope he can push and motivate Charles to be a better driver

shares that making music is something he does for himself and wants to keep it that way - omg hope they collab

gets invited to a high end fashion show- omg imagine them both slaying next year in the front row

owns a dog - omg hope we get playdates with Leo

is into fashion - omg hope he can give that man some tips on how to dress

likes to skydive - omg hope he takes Charles with him

Lewis can't even breathe without someone thinking how they can use that to prop up their fave. Other than that he's a boring, greedy, washed up flop.

First, after an aggressive war on Gaza City and its revival, we were displaced from our 3-storey house in which I and my family of 3 members live.

My father's family consists of 8 members

My grandfather, may God have mercy on him, was martyred by occupation aircraft on 12/14/2023.

The one who was martyred while he was leaving the house to check on our house next to him, which could not be reached due to a brutal enemy who does not differentiate between anyone in death, went out to check on our house, which we were not in because of my displacement to Rafah, me, my father, and our families due to the intensity of the fighting in Khan Yunis, and after that A few days ago, our store in which my father and brothers work was bombed by occupation aircraft. He was working to gather his strength from it and meet the needs of our house, which no longer exists due to the bombing. We ask you to help and contribute, even if just a little, by donating to us so that we can compensate for a little of what we lost.

So, teamlh Brasil needs help with something they've been dealing with all week long on a couple of different socials.

Lewis has been wrongly accused of being involved with P*** D*** crimes over old photos taken in VERY public settings.

There's videos on instagram and tiktok and accounts on BlueSky spreading those accusations (X is still blocked over there)

The worst one though comes from a girl with a pretty robust following on instagram @/formulagrl that's been using old photos to accuse him.

Some pretty big f1 related accounts have reached out to Lewis's team, Merc's team and even some attorneys.

Defamation in Brasil is a crime. And can result in hefty fines.

How can you help? Don't interact with those accounts, don't comment, don't open their stories, the online traffic is exactly what they're after.

You can also help by sending out a message to the following official mailing addresses letting them know what's going on.

the more i think about it the sillier it gets because 1) no one was fucking talking about this anymore since ricciardo had been the main topic for the last couple of days 2) people need to get through their thick skulls that believing the strategy team screwed up doesn’t necessarily mean believing the team is intentionally sabotaging lewis and them strenuously defending the team and blaming lewis does not make them better fans or morally superior as they like to think, especially in an instance like this when it was obvious to everyone how wrong his whole race plan was

And already from that moment I'm frustrated and then I tried my best to keep up with the guys ahead, they were too fast and then I just tried to make that tyre last as long as I could. From Gaza to Ireland: Out of the Fire of War to the Fire of Soul-Crushing Survival Guilt and Fear for my Family

At times of peace, having to be away from your family for months and years is a high price you pay for obtaining an academic degree or securing a better job. Imagine while you are away, they were trapped in a besieged strip of land and thousands of missiles rained down on that besieged area of 360 km² around the clock for almost 11 months. That would crush every cell of your mind and drive you crazy, wouldn't it?!

Imagine suddenly getting addicted to watching the news and the gory videos and pictures all the freaking time. You follow relevant social media pages that only show images, videos, and stories of entire families that were wiped out in an instant in an airstrike and deemed as collateral insignificant damage. While plunging deeper and deeper into an unprecedented state of acute depression, I wondered: how come all my suffering from displacement, fear, and hunger in Gaza for 5 months during the war before being evacuated to Ireland is nothing but a drop compared to my ocean of suffering now?

The constant thinking of my family in Gaza during the genocide and all the potential scenarios is consuming my sanity and mental health at a time in my life and a place where I am required to be 199% focused and productive. To give you a glimpse of my horrible psychological suffering these days: I fear going to sleep because I know horrible horrible nightmares are waiting for me on the other side. Some have to do with the horrors of wars I witnessed in Gaza myself and others relate to the horrible potential scenarios I keep thinking about.

Seeing the images and pictures of Gaza makes you think a thousand earthquakes hit every neighborhood of the Gaza Strip! Nothing and no one has been spared. The horrific war has turned the place into a hell on earth, unfortunately. How can young people have any hope for a better future seeing the mass destruction and the relentless Israeli efforts to stifle Gaza and squeeze hope out of its people as a form of collective punishment. How monstrous and heartless!!!

Amid all this chaos and madness, my number one priority and focus is evacuating my family to Egypt as a first step and hopefully reuniting with them in Ireland at a later stage.

one of Lando's mechanics has had to make his insta private because he'd been sent a barrage of hate after a fan took offence to him supposedly calling Checo "stupid" (after his collision with Carlos when the cameras cut to the McLaren garage) and shared his insta handle

it shouldn't need to be said but let's say it anyway

do not harass team members, mechanics, engineers, communications team members, etc. on their personal social media accounts

they are human and will make comments just like drivers will, but this does not mean you're entitled to send them abusive messages or harass them on their personal accounts

McLaren in particular had a really bad time of this behaviour a few years ago, with personnel making their accounts private and actually asking for people to stop harassing them, and I've seen team members for other teams have also had to do this on and off
