A dark time in Irish history, the mother and baby homes served a purpose that didn't need to be served. Irish history has been ruled by the Catholic Church, whether it was nuns, Christian brothers, or priests.

What ever your personal views on these, it doesn't alter history.

This is the site of the mother and baby home outside Newry. Take not of the phallic chimney, which is clearly on a protection order, and the monkey puzzle tree. I challenge you to present a photo of a historic education, Catholic, protestant, psychiatric or prison site, that doesn't have a monkey puzzle tree.......
