Kwande News February 2012: Children, Activities...

Wonderful rains have fallen in the New Year in the Great Fish River Valley. The landscape is now dotted with flowers and of course a large number of wildlife offspring

They have reviewed their current offering for families to make Kwandwe even more family friendly. Ecca Lodge now allows 2 children under 16 to share with parents. They have also added new activities: a daily Hooves & Strips game drive after breakfast focusing on 'non dangerous' game such as giraffe, zebra, etc; daily treasure hunts; finger painting; complimentary child minding; and much more! They have also offered a lower exclusive-use rate for fewer people sharing a villa.

Plans for the year ahead include a substantial refurbishment of Great Fish River Lodge. After a busy season, Uplands Homestead will also have some extensive work done by their building maintenance team.

Finally rates for 2013 are the same at 2013. The only change is that Easter – always part of High Season - falls in March next year, so the high season dates for this particular period vary slightly. Please also note the new fare for the daily scheduled flight to and from Port Elizabeth Airport and Kwandwe's airstrip; this still provides great value and offers a quick and scenic option to arrive directly onto Kwandwe Reserve.

Kwandwe has some new specials for 2012 As of 1 March,  STAY 3 PAY 2 ½ offer. This offer is applicable to NEW bookings ONLY from 1 March until 19 December 2012. The STAY 4 PAY 3 offer still applies and is valid throughout until 31December 2013.

Blue Footprints Eco Lodge -Dive center closes

Blue Footprints Eco Lodge - Tofo / Barra Area   It is with regret that we have to inform all that the Dive Centre at Blue Footprints Eco Lodge has been closed with immediate effect.  Although the Lodge was operating on high levels, the dive centre was running at a loss.  The Lodge will therefore continue to run as normal and guests that wish to do any scuba diving or ocean safaris will be assisted with bookings at nearby dive centres in the area.  The Lodge will also assist with transfers to and from the Dive Centres.   The Lodge remains a beautiful and private setting in the popular Barra / Tofo area and we still recommend it as a great accommodation venue.

Vamizi Carbon Offsetting Tax
