This man was far better than we ever deserved
That moment when you require forgiveness when your only crime was loving then leaving a wicked man...
So I have recently read a book with the absolute best way of handling a gay character I've seen in modern media, maybe ever. The character's orientation was not used for comic relief, nor was it the sum total of who the character was as an individual. It was not a "gay character" it was a well written, well rounded character who also happened to be gay. This character figured largerly in several installments of a series before this aspect of character was brought up and only came to light when it directly related to the story at hand as it was progressing. When it is revealed in the story, that person's companions address the news in accordance with the established way they have been written and move on with life. One character even says "of course I know that. But what does that have to do with anything?" And the matter is dropped only to be picked up again when it is once again relevant to what is actually happening. In other words, like real life. The character is written as a person rather than the embodiment of sexual orientation. The person's actions demeanor and characteristics do not change after the revelation, lending credence to the idea that this is what the creator intended from the start. So my question is have any of you found something like this. Some way of creating a character so genuinely and human that it struck you as being almost profound in a way?

COME FOR HIM ELIZABETH!
Today at work, one of my coworkers cornered me and asked if I eat. It took me 10 minutes to convince her that, no, I don't have an eating disorder, yes I eat, no, I don't eat at work, I've been losing weight because I have cut junk food out and I walk every day. I changed my lifestyle to be healthier and my coworkers think I have an eating disorder...

Is it possible to fall out of love with someone? I have been head over heals in love with 5 people in my life. I am still in love with each of them. One I haven't seen since we split up in the 10th grade, one shattered me so thoroughly that 17 years later I'm still repairing the damage, one I've not spoken to in 8 years, one I married and the last broke my heart rather recently. But regardless of time, distance or pain, I still love each of them deeply, as though time and distance did not exist. As though pain was fleeting and irrelevant. I have never stopped loving someone once I have started. Not once. How do people live and love and let love die? How do people stop loving someone? Regardless of anger or hurt or abuse, I still love each of them. Is it possible to stop?

Some Questions to Ask When Things Go Wrong
Ask yourself:
1. Is this something I should take seriously and try to put right; is it something that is worth working on, and investing more energy on?
2. How much is my fault? Is it something I can change further down the road?
3. How much is outside my control; will anything I do really alter the situation or make a lasting difference?
5. Have I done everything I possibly can? Have I tried and exhausted all possible options?
6. Is it something I should put behind me, and decide to walk away from?
7. Who else has gone through a similar experience, or had this happen to them? Who can I talk to who will understand, and give me valuable help and advice?
8. What can I learn from this experience?
9. How can I build myself up again, so I have the needed strength to go forward in my life?
10. What small steps can I take to enhance my self-esteem?

HOW DO WE SAY “Bad wolf” IN QUENYA?

Overjoyed to bake with Dominic Monaghan! I’m a huge fan of all of his work, especially his character Merry from Lord of the Rings! Loved having afternoon tea with him and chatting about LOTR, animals and his show “Wild Things” on the Travel Channel. ☕️🌎💕
We made homemade caraway seed-cake muffins on Nerdy Nummies! These Middle-Earth treats are described in The Hobbit and are one of Bilbo Baggins’ favorite recipes. We also made raspberry jam because Bilbo’s dwarf friend “Bifur” loved it with these muffins.
The Hobbit holds a very special place in my heart. Growing up my dad would read me this series as a bedtime story
Wait, does rapper B.o.B. really think the Earth is flat — or is he trolling us?
After claiming to have watched Felix Baumgartner’s famous Red Bull Stratos jump from the edge of space, recording artist B.o.B is furiously tweeting everything science says about the Earth being round is a total lie. Why is he doing this? We have an idea.

Update: Neil deGrasse Tyson has joined the fray to lay the scientific smackdown on B.o.B.
Tyson sent the rapper multiple tweets disproving him and then things got personal.
Update: This feud is getting weirder and weirder. B.o.B released a new track “Flatline” on Monday, that takes a few shots at Neil deGrasse Tyson. “Aye, Neil Tyson need to loosen up his vest,” the rapper spits. “They’ll probably write that man one hell of a check.”
And then Tyson fired back with a diss track of his own. Really.
The astrophysicist enlisted the help of his nephew Stephen J. Tyson, who is apparently a rapper. Tyson delivers the facts at B.o.B. over a Drake beat.
Update: It got better. Neil deGrasse Tyson apparently wasn’t done educating B.o.B. Here’s what happened on The Nightly Show:
You need to hear the crowd’s reaction to this.
This is the greatest thing happening right now.
