Daiyu blinked as she watched the two young girls station themselves outside of the door for protective purposes, then realized that some of the bodyguards in her family were probably even younger. Not phased or surprised by their dedication to their master, she shrugged it off and moved over to her own bed, only sitting upright on it with her legs Indian-style.
"Can I at least ask you what it is you do back in Xing? I’d like to get to know the man who’s rooming with me until he finds the one he’s looking for." This wasn’t exactly a way to pry information out of him, but just a kind way of trying to get to know him and start a conversation. The least she could do for him was talk him to sleep, if that would help anything.
"I am just a loyal servant who serves one of the heir's family tea." Hao chuckled while removing his shoes and his glasses, placing them on the bedside table and beginning to curl up underneath the blanket. "Sometimes I cook and clean, but they mostly use me for my secretive recipes." He chuckled again, only this time it was a bit sad. He loved the family he served, but they were holding him back from so much. In fact, he didn't find out about the bounty on his daughter's head until a year after it all happened, and it wasn't as if he could ask his ex lover about it. "I suppose you can say it's quite laid back and simple, which is good for an old geezer like me."
