jaceâs feet hit the ground with a thud as he stepped out of the portal, eyes glancing around the open space heâd appeared in. given that he was the first one to go through, he wasnât sure what heâd been expecting to see. there were people milling about and rows upon rows of computer screens, information moving so quickly across them that he couldnât make sense of it. this had to be the head of operations. he straightened up and moved further into the room, hearing the tell-tale sounds of people exiting the portal behind him as he explored. maps, plans, official looking documents - it was all there. clearly this had been in the motions for YEARS and the thought made him shiver. this was no rebellion - it was a REVOLUTION.Â
turning away from the papers he glanced back over to the portal, a spark of recognition in his eyes as he watched his friends cross through the portal. he felt a pang of hurt cross his features when neither alec or izzy stepped through, but he pushed that aside. theyâd see, he rationalized as he crossed over to greet a familiar face, theyâll realize they made the wrong choice.  âlooks like iâm not alone.â he remarked as he approached them, a tight smile on his face as he nodded in their direction. âand by the looks of things, weâre not in the MINORITY here.â
one of the last to leave through the portal - due to the task heâd been assigned by his father ( kill all those left behind ) - heâd straightened up. and undergone the reformation into one of THEIRS; jaceâs friend, claryâs boyfriend, a confused mutant receiving a mysterious invitation to an undisclosed location and coincidentally deciding to attend. jaceâs voice is the first thing heard, as he steps through the portal, and it closes behind him. he would have to inform his father of his failure later - and of how their adversaries were more formidable than previously estimated. alas - a problem for the later hours. his saving face must of course be granted. âindeed.â walking over to jace, putting a smile on his face. âit appears we have stumbled our way right into the middle of a revolution.â presenting a calm but excited facade, looking around. the information flowing steadily in from their causes across the globe, the new recruits theyâd manage to garner; clarissa and jonathan among them. perhaps it was a success to overcome his failure. indoctrination before the word could be spread about the massacre theyâd intended to carry out. âand to think i wasnât going to come. - is clary here? i told her i wasnât coming tonight but i had a change of heart.âÂ
