My name? Is it really that important? Fine, my name is Gaius. Named after a man that was like a father to my own. My fathers name is Merlin, the druids call him Emrys. Harm my father... or any of my siblings and I will have a problem with you. Now... my mother, she... isn't talked about much. “Kid brother my ass. I’m a year younger then you.” Balinor responded by pushing his brother over.

“I bet.” He almost said ‘I bet he looked adorable.’ but he didn’t.

"Aw, hush.  You're still a kid, goof off like one with Uther all the time." He regained his balance quickly after the shove back, and grinned. 

"Yup, he's gonna kill me if he finds out I told you."

“You wouldn’t dare.” He chuckled. 

“Nice job. What I would do to see the look on Uther’s face when you tripped him.”

"Oh wouldn't I though? You're after all my kid brother, if I want to shove you around I will." He joked, and gave the younger male a light shove. 

"Priceless I'll tell you that one, cheeks got all red, tips of his ears too." Reminded him of how Uther's entire face would turn red when he was embarrassed or angry, when they were all years younger.

“Serves you right.” 

“What did you even do?”

"... I'm about ready to shove you into a creek, Balinor." The older teen said, however was smiling lightly, not meaning the threat. 

"We got into a tiny argument about which direction to go, and he shoved me.  But that was after I used magic on him to trip up." Gaius could be a trickster when he wanted to be, and it was always a funny thing to get a rise out of the young prince.

“Hello Gaius. How was the trip with Uther?”

"Hell." He responded.  "The kid shoved me in a creek."

"Can you just tell him that I'm looking for him and to come the castle as soon as he gets back?" Arthur requested, while ignoring Gaius' question. He gave the young man a somewhat forced smile before opening the door and leaving the room quickly.

"Uhm... yes, of course." What was up with him? Did he find out...? No, no one but Gaius' family, and Uther-- because Balinor told him-- who Gauis' mother was.  He supposed it was something else, had to be.

“Huh?”

"Hey, Balinor." The older said with a light smile, and ruffled the others hair.

“Hello Gaius, is your dad around?” Arthur greeted the young man as he entered the room, closing the door behind him softly. He glanced around the room to see how much it had changed since Gaius’ namesake lived there with Merlin.

The blonde shook his head slightly to get rid of the memories and focused on the brunette in front of him, taking in appearance from head to toe. Arthur felt a smile tug at the corners of his lips at how much he looked like his father.

"Ah, no... I don't believe so.  I think he went to go help someone, more than likely, he was already gone when I woke up." So was Balinor, damn kid.  The older boy was probably going to have to save his brother and the prince yet again from something or someone, and then of course Uther would beg the other not to tell Arthur, and give him that damn puppy eyes that he'd been using since all of them were children.  "Is there something you need?"

Gaius was doing his daily duties to his father, reorganizing the shelves, restocking herbs, things like that while his younger brother Balinor was probably sneaking out of the castle with the prince again, those two were best friends, inseparable.  Gaius on the other hand, spent more time with the princess, seeing as they were closer in age.  

At the sound of the door opening, the brunette turned, "sire." the green eyed young teenager greeted.

Uther says I need to kiss Elaine. Why?

“You don’t have to do anything,” The blonde insists, shaking her head. Curse her little brother and his determination to make her happy. “He just,” She starts, stumbling over her words at first. “He wanted me to be happy and he thought that by making you kiss me I would.” Not that she minds, obviously, but she doesn’t want Gaius to feel uneasy.

"He's trying to be a good brother, though I can see he's not very good at it is he?" But at least he tried? That was all that really mattered, maybe he was taking after Balinor a little, trying to be a good brother-- Gaius wasn't saying Balinor was a perfect brother to him, nope, Balinor could be just as annoying and troublesome.  "And he believes me kissing you would make you happy then?"

Oh- Don’t mind him. He's just being… Uther. { She says this with a blush, unable to believe that her idiot brother would actually go through with asking him. ] I told him you wouldn’t, anyway.

"Mhm, he said I had to though." Whatever plan the blond was thinking up, was ticking him off.  Gaius would rather know what was going on, instead of being told what to do.  "Never said I wouldn't." He muttered under his breath.
