occassionally i think about how tori and nick genuinely love and care about fp and void but dont respect them and it makes me want to start biting things apart
me when i think about how the lovelessness game makes a point about how love and care arent the same thing as respect, and love wont guarantee that you will be a good person who treats other people well by having its two villains be deeply loving people who harm the people they care the most about beyond reason by imposing their own ideas for whats good for them upon them and futher drives that point home by having the victims in these situations be loveless and especially in friendprogram and tori's case have that be an integral part of their relationship turning abusive and even lead to friendprogram being victimblamed and they themself downplaying what tori put them through for the millionth time 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

knowing that the secret lab in friendship test took inspiration from the true lab is funny as an alphys undertale fan because with the way some people talk about her youd think the shit she did would be on par with the shit nick friendshiptest does
i just suddenly remembered that a while back i said smth like "theres a certain subset of gaster fans who would go crazy over nick". but like a lot of gaster fanon is just making him more morally dubious than alphys and assigning some of her actions to him to flesh him out because hes still kind of a nothing character but has been a million times more popular than alphys anyway. i think the takeaway here is just fandom hates women.

Thinking about Fun and Games in terms of like, their purpose as characters in the larger narrative. Because it's not that they don't still go through any development or are never wrong about anything at all, but they really do have one of the healthiest relationships in the game and the main focus of their arc takes place during the prologue.
It largely feels like they stick around to both contrast the more troubled dynamics between other characters, and to examine how they deal with being put back in the environment of the larger lab, since their relationship only really grew into something substantial while they were isolated from it.
And while the game has plenty of aromantic characters, both loving and loveless, I'd argue their relationship puts the strongest emphasis on platonic love being important to them, and these two holding a lot of value in that while being explicitly aro feels extremely relevant in a story about the isolation loveless and aplatonic people face, even among other aspec people.
Trying to talk about moments in friendship test is like trying to talk about moments in objects shows cause like

looking through my friendship test playlist realizing that a lot of songs i associate with fp and toris dynamic i also associate just with fst as a whole. its almost like their dynamic is a core part of the game or something
