This event focuses on ALL creative works focusing on disability in Tolkien's universe.

You can do worldbuilding, fan fic, fan art, share a favorite character, your favorite headcanons, write a song, poem, show us your LOTRO Oc!ANYTHING providing-

Absolutely NO USE OF AI IN ANY PART OF THE PROCESS

Ableism and violence against Disabled character should be done with nuance and plot in mind. Remember this is a pride event we are more than willing to have dead dove- provided it is done justly and tactfully.

Tag all your works appropriately and place under a read more.

Hobbits are just tiny men. They can have ANY Disability we do! I imagine theyre prone to foot issues due to the size of their feetsies.

Elves. Man they fight a lot. Give them a battle wound. Show how it made them kinder (or worse!)

Dwarves fight and craft a lot. How does a dwarf with an injury craft or fight?

I have a litany of homebrew dwarven health conditions here complete with case studies of differing severities and manifestations.

In the world of men do they have good medical care? Or is there potential for a meet cute between a human and a dwarf/elf.

How are conditions managed in middle earth? Does your character have an easy time?

Remember mental health is just one form of disability. There are MANY others and this is a good opportunity to expand and learn about something. Cultivating empathy through education is a great way to have pride in our community.

Your work doesnt have to be happy! Pride is also about acknowledging our pain and struggles including overcoming our tragedies and honoring those we have lost.

Reader discretion is advised. Mental health and other health conditions are uncomfortable and debilitating, as a result things may provoke feelings of discomfort when reading.

These fantasy types are not untouched by pain and suffering. It is important to explore health in fantasy settings because it allows us to relate and see more of ourselves in these worlds. Many of us relate health diagnosis from our world onto our favorites! ( I wonder what your favorite would relate with you ?)

I will be using language, formatting, and speech from the American mental health system as it is what I use at work. This is not meant to be hyper clinical but I wanted it to be objective and concise.

I have left out brain structures because I am sure dwarrow brains have different sections or at the very least different language for it.

You can use these in dnd or other tabletop campaigns provided you credit me.

I got an ask over the weekend so to clear up confusion: Díscember fics do not have to be romantic. They just have to focus on Dís as a character without enmeshing her with male characters and basing her whole identity off her relationship to them (mother, wife, grieving widow).

Dís doesnt have to be a good guy in fact this event is FOCUSED on examining different aspects of her character. Give us flaws give us imperfections. Give us ruthless. The whole point of the event is breaking the fandom mold of perfect mother daughter sister Dís.
