yeah he says he loves you but would he unleash cosmic horrors beyond mankind's comprehension on the world for you
it’s like.. sooo funny to see ppl approach immortal all-powerful characters w/ the mindset of “well clearly they love the gender binary and heterosexuality and adhere to both of those” like… bitch do you really Think
i’ve existed for only two decades and don’t care for either of those… do you really think an immortal all-powerful being would? hard pass
Skye snuck up behind Tan and jumped up wrapping her arms loosely around his shoulders, “Whatcha working on?” As she poked his cheek with her tail.
Taneleer gasped softly, jolting as the woman whom he felt much affection for startled him from his reverie. Taneleer's shock quickly dissipated, his expression morphing into a slow, languid smile that conveyed his sly adorarion for Skye. He brought his hands to up to her arms, keeping her in place as he took a small breath before speaking, "My work would be of great disinterest to you, but I can think of quite a few other things I would much rather...*discuss*..."
Yes I AM cranky because I received NO PROPHETIC DREAMS to help me on my quest.

The Collector was listening raptly to Loki. Loki liked this. He was more than happy to be the center of attention, whenever possible. Some circumstances, of course, called for a little incognito work, but at the moment, he was absolutely flexing the influence of what he had proposed to call the Asgardian Trans-Dimensional Protectorate.
That name had not gone over well in council, because the All-Father, in all his wisdom, would have preferred simply to refer to Earth as New Asgard and leave it at that. Loki had, of course, reminded him that Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim, and at least three other known realms were also depending on Asgardian “protection” (rule was such a strong word), that it would be wise to seem as if they were, for the time being, only benevolently visiting.
“They are Realms, not dimensions; we need not use their language simply because we walk among them!” Thor had thundered. Loki’s voice of reason had been lost amidst the answering shouts and applause and he had settled back for a long meeting of blustering and backstabbing… so, standard operating procedure.
Being here, with Taneleer Tivan was more like a vacation than he could ever have imagined. The Collector was nigh-immortal in this realm and was clearly able to speak more on that level and that particular magnitude of thought. I mustn’t lose focus, however; I am here for a reason, though it’s hardly ill-advised to mix business with pleasure at this juncture.
“The gardens, I think,” said Loki, his ears honing in on the phrase “gemstone repository”, but careful not to seem pointedly interested or obsessed with any one thing. This was, after all, to appear as an excursion of impulsive desire by the First Bride, weary of his duties at court. A sharp mind like his would always be desirous to learn more of Midgard and this would not so much as show up as a blip on the All-Father’s proverbial radar.
“A walk among that which is beautiful only enhances beauty, doesn’t it, my dear Collector?”
Taneleer quirked his head, his idly curious expression shifting to one of amusement as he clasped his hands behind his back out of habit and began slowly walking in the direction of the gantry lift, “You are so very much in a correct way of thinking...” He gave a very brief smile that was laced with a barely noticeable hint of the riqué, “Is green not your colour?”
Taneleer inputted the lift with a quick series of movements through the holo-display controls, and the Tivan Group-emblazoned doors opened with the flash of a blue light above it.
Ari giggled as Tan cleaned his shoulder, still tugging on his white fluffy hair. She didn’t yet understand that pulling hair can hurt; she just thought it was like one of the furs he always carried her in.
En Dwi, meanwhile, looked a little repulsed at seeing Ari spit up like that. He wasn’t too big a fan of bodily fluids of any sort, and he wondered why infants tended to be so helpless.
Taneleer could sense En Dwi’s disdain and as soon as he had finished cleaning up after Ariana, Taneleer cleared his throat slightly and stood, “I must find Ariana some toys...”
Taneleer was always hesitant to leave his brother to his own devices in the fortress, there was so much that could go wrong; items breaking, creatures getting hurt, En Dwi getting hurt...which in turn could lead to the previous predicaments. But alas, Taneleer neither wanted En Dwi to join him in the search for toys for Ariana.
Taneleer nodded his head in his brother’s direction in a brief farewell and left with Ariana balanced carefully on his hip.

⚔️Shout Out To The Muses That Are UNAPOLOGETIC About Being Assholes, Antagonistic Pricks, and Generally Bad People™ ⚔️
Stories need conflict to thrive. The Roleplay Community benefits from having muns that play antagonistic characters. Characters that not all others muses will like and get along with. Muses who do fucked up shit and love it. It can be lonely playing a character that everyone wants to treat like a punching bag, or wants to walk over, or ignore.
Reblog if your blog APPRECIATES, SUPPORTS, and RESPECTS Villains and antagonistic muses!!
Ari burped loudly and spit up a little onto Tan’s shoulder. Giggling, she reached over and managed to get a hand onto Tan’s hair, pulling at it like it was a toy.
En Dwi just rolled his eyes and pouted. How on earth had his brother not grasped that he was supposed to be the center of attention?
Taneleer elected to ignore En Dwi entirely when Ariana spit up, knowing that his brother’s childish judgments toward his daughter would only put Taneleer in a foul mood...again. If En Dwi truly kept it up, his pestering and complaining, Taneleer would have no choice but to turn him out and away from the fortress, away from Ariana. She didn’t need that sort of influence or energetic vibration.
He mumbled to his baby softly, “That’s okay... I will clean this up and then find a more suitable toy for you than my hair...”
Taneleer stood up and retrieved a cloth from nearby, mentally reminding himself that he needed to get into the habit of placing the cloth on his shoulder before Ariana regurgitated upon him after feeding her. According to his research, it was common in infants, and within a few months she would grow out of it, so Taneleer had no concerns and he was not a squeamish man. He was surgically and medically skilled, after all.

a stone’s throw
Loki stood, straightening his cuffs, whereupon golden links were pinned, set with emeralds which matched his eyes. These, he had been given by Thor when they had finally cemented their conquest of Earth. Thor was convinced that Earth was the seat of Yggdrasil and the center of Midgard, such that it was. Loki thought that might be right, but gods ought to rule within the bows, not under the soil where beasts like Nidhogg might gnaw upon their boots.
That certainty had brought him here, to the Collector.
“It would fall well below your expectations now, I’m afraid,” intoned the First Bride with such an air of melancholy that, had he an audience, or a chorus such as old Earth Greeks might have had in their amphitheaters, they would have been donning masks of sorrow and singing long, lusty laments for worlds fallen and kingdoms shattered. It was only half an act. “Keep your rose-tinted memories, Master Collector,” Loki continued, “they may serve you better in the long run.”
It was a cryptic statement, he knew, but Loki remembered those who helped him. If Taneleer Tivan helped secure his place in the heavens, he would grant boons to the man, many boons indeed. “I should like to see more of your most impressive collection, if the timing suits.”
Taneleer listened with an intensity that only those with long lives, immortality, as some might call it, could possess, the keen and unmoving interest he displayed suggesting that he had infinite time in the universe to do nothing but listen...and show off the innumerable acquisitions he was steward of.
Loki’s words left an implication of...despondency? Something that left Taneleer curious for answers that he perhaps would have to either uncover himself or send one of his many agents to see and report back to him. Though it had been some time since Taneleer had traveled, he very much enjoyed doing so. The best acquisitions were the ones that he discovered and retrieved by his own hand and the best news and rumors were the ones he heard by his own ears.
Taneleer smiled, the expression not reaching his eyes as per usual, “Of course, I have all the time in the galaxy... Perhaps my gardens? The gemstone repository? The ossuary? These are the most popular exhibits of my collection in this location.”
Hahaha it has been too long, I certainly forgot some little details of their costume..... Anyway yeah, I'm watching GotG 1 and I wanted to fanart ❤️

En Dwi was a little taken aback at his brother’s tone. “Alright fine, I’m just saying that her stomach and cheeks are a little chubby. You might want to cut down on her sweets.”
Ari quickly finished her bottle and began whining to be burped, not really noticing En Dwi talking about her.
Taneleer glared at En Dwi, finally moving his gaze down to his daughter as he began patting his back. She was perfectly humanoid, perfectly normal-looking. En Dwi was just unkind and unknowing in how infants were meant to look.
He focused his attention on Ariana, happy to have her distract him from his brother’s ridiculousness and rudeness. Ariana was proving a...mostly wanted distraction from Taneleer’s other business as well, such as the affairs of the Tivan Group, both legal and...otherwise.
In the grand scheme of things, raising and caring for a child would not detract at all from Taneleer’s plans, and he hoped it would all pan out to be the proper actions to take.
Every so often, Taneleer found himself thinking about the whereabouts of Ariana’s parents or guardians, those had left her helpless and alone in the middle of a dark street. But the thought of finding and returning the baby to such reckless and uncaring people made his anger spike.
Ariana had been a blessing to him thus far, an angel in the form of a child that he could call his own.

ask-taneleer-tivan:
Taneleer tilted his head downward, locking eyes with prince seriously, not blinking as he thought of how to respond to Loki’s insult… It was unusual, was the prince…searching for something within his collection? Coming as a tourist was a most clever ploy…
Taneleer straightened up and took a breath, placing his hand on his heart dramatically, “Your Highness… What would capture your…fascination? Please, I would most like to know…”
@loki-the-predator
Loki didn’t want to be straightforward in what he sought. Not even play the game of hotter-colder with the man. He could have said that he was interested in anything that was magical and, of course, stronger or on par with him, but that was just too easy.
Thus he decided on a different approach. One that might be more dangerous, but he was already treating on thing ice. He was well aware that he had insulted Taneleer - it was quite obvious.
“What do you think that would truly capture my fascination?” he asked airily, mimicking the tilt of the head as the other did with a little smirk.
@ask-taneleer-tivan
Taneleer tilted his head downward, a somewhat playful and dark gleam catching in his gaze toward the young prince, “Perhaps... Perhaps some ancient artifacts of Jotunheim?”
It was no secret that Loki was not born of Asgard, Tivan often had his own ways of knowing things before they were made known to the general populace of the galaxy. Bringing up the Prince’s past felt...risky, but Taneleer decided to take the leap.

“At your suggestion, Master Collector,” replied Loki.
He was almost surprised when the door opened to reveal a very lived-in office. Clearly, the Collector was a man of obsession and deep passion for his work. Excellent, thought Loki to himself, if anyone has what I seek, it is he—and the rumors are true. Despite this excitement, Loki managed to keep a straight face, his inscrutable expression one of his most powerful weapons since his addition to the royal family of Asgard. Only Freya, his lady mother-in-law and queen, could see through him.
And she was gone.
He let this thought pass as a night breeze passes the leaves of trees in midsummer. It moves them, but it does not dislodge their position. So too was he poised, stirred but healthy and showing none of this reaction to his host.
As the Collector moved to his desk, Loki examined some of the artifacts in various curio cabinets stationed about the place. They were beautiful, these pieces. Each one expressed a different style, a different culture, but somehow, they were arranged in such a way as to make what was clearly clutter, attractive. His eyes lighted upon a golden headpiece, which seemed familiar.
“Asgardian wedding accouterments,” he said, his voice low, pronunciation light and delicate. “I wore one very like this, myself… many years ago. How have you come by such a piece?” Of course, someone like Taneleer Tivan would have little trouble passing between realms, but the question was meant to hold the Collector’s interest and allow Loki time to feel the room a bit.
Power such as he sought gave off a distinct thrum, after all.
Taneleer leaned against his worktable somewhat casually, watching with keen interest as Loki explored. It was always a remarkably fascinating moment when his guests found something that resonated with them.
And...ah, yes, Loki did seem to find something indeed...
Taneleer tilted his head thoughtfully, blinking slowly as he thought of a more acceptable answer to Loki’s question than the truth about the Asgardian headpiece having been purchased from an assortment of trinkets brought in by a lowly peddler, and likely a thief.
Taneleer spoke slowly, his tone not rushed as he carefully accentuated his vowels through his accent, “The piece is lovely... It was acquired on one of my many excursions to your most noble realm. I have not been to Asgard for several centuries, I’m afraid...”
