Yet another Masky doodle
i would literally be the worst creepypasta protagonist. i would find an evil haunted copy of mario 64 and i'd boot it up and see mario's face distorted nightmarishly and the title would be "SUPER MARIO DEAD 96" and i'd be like "wow what a cool romhack with no information about it anywhere online i can't believe i found such a rare and beautiful thing" and there'd be blood everywhere and the overworld music would be screeching static intercut with barely audible whispering so i record it and play it backwards and the whispering is just "DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH" and the spectrogram i generated is a small open-mouthed screaming face with empty eyes (which should be impossible considering the audio contents don't correspond with the image at all, and the picture is strangely clear) and i'm like "wow such amazing attention to detail this must've taken so much work" and all the levels are named like 'sector: EPITAPH' with no enemies and untextured 3d primitives in an endless gray expanse soundtracked by slowed down n64 synthesizers and i'd say "wow this uncanny emptiness captures such a harrowing side of nostalgia, it really conveys this haunting impression of a missing or dead inner child or something" and then mario turns to the camera and starts listing off the coordinates of my current location and i'm like "wow they even put a geolocator in this thing" and i play the game nonstop because i'm absolutely enraptured by this strange and scary piece of art and i want to keep exploring it but then this ghostly kid emerges from the cartridge in a brilliant ray of light because it turns out by playing the game i gave this sad dead child an outlet to express his anger and grief and through my unconditional love and enjoyment of the game i've allowed this kid to play his favorite game one last time and so he vanishes, smiling, and now no one will ever believe me because all i have is this normal cartridge of mario 64 with the name "ANDREW" scrawled in sharpie on the back

some tma valentines for The One That You Love
[ID: A set of digitally drawn Magnus Archives themed valentine cards.
The first valentine shows Martin Blackwood and Jonathan Sims embracing against a green background. Jon is a thin man with light brown skin, chin length grey-streaked brown hair, facial stubble, and glasses. He wears a green shirt and wraps his arms around Martin. Martin faces away from the viewer, with only his back visible. He is a fat white man with short blonde hair, and he wears a blue sweater. Small red hearts hover above them, and a large darker green heart sits behind them. Next to them text reads, “[fabric rustles]”, with lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath.
The second valentine is drawn completely in shades of purple, and features a bust of Annabelle Cane. Annabelle is a thin Black woman with short light curly hair that is shaved on one side, long spider-like eyelashes, and fangs. The shaved side of her head is covered in spiderweb, and she wears a Victorian style blouse. Small spiders hang above her shoulders, and she looks to the side with a wink and a sly smile. Text to her side reads “I’ve caught you in my Web, valentine…” with lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath.
The third valentine is drawn completely in shades of pink, and features a line art drawing of Jared Hopworth from the waist up. He is an abnormally muscular man with short hair, and splatters of blood on his hands and chest. He is shirtless, and he looks forward with his eyes widened in an intense expression. Text next to him reads “Valentine… it was nice to meat (m-e-a-t) you.” with a drawing of an anatomical heart sitting in a pile of blood, and lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath.
The fourth valentine is drawn completely in shades of blue, and features a line art drawing of Mike Crew falling through the sky. He is a thin man with chin length hair, and he wears a long jacket over an undershirt and pair of trousers. He has a long scarf around his neck which billows upwards. His hands rest behind his head and his eyes are closed in a relaxed expression. Text to his side reads “I think I’ve fallen for you, valentine.” with lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath.
The fifth valentine is drawn completely in shades of orange, and features a line art drawing of Agnes Montague from the hips up. She is a thin woman with long wavy hair. She wears a turtleneck sweater tucked into a skirt, and she is turned to the side. She holds a flame in her hands, and looks at it intensely. Text to her side reads “You light my flame, valentine.” with lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath.
The sixth and final valentine is drawn entirely in shades of green, and features a drawing of Elias Bouchard holding a pipe. He is a thin middle aged white man, with short light hair. He wears a collared shirt with a black tie and the sleeves rolled up, as well as a pair of trousers and formal shoes. He is sitting down, and he looks to the side with a smirk. Five small eyes hover above his head. Text to his side reads “Hello Valentine, apologies for the deception,” with lines reading “to:” and “from:” underneath. A darker green heart lies behind the text. End ID.]
Martin Blackwood – season 3 stepping in Well, someone has to take and read statements, while their boss is off getting kidnapped... ------------------- [image description: Martin, a big, stout guy with blond hair and round glasses, sits at a desk his hands lying on some sheets of paper and a dark yellow folder, probably containing a statement. He stares down at the paper with puffy, reddened eyes and reads. A tape recorder is propped up in front of him on the desk. He wears a light grey hoody and is lit from the front and slightly from below – likely by something like a desk lamp. The background around him is of a shadowy, purplelish brown.]
i think the cruelest thing about ‘a guest for mr spider’ is that its a story so rooted in childhood
like on a meta level this is Jon’s ‘backstory’ episode where we learn all sorts of fun things like ‘Jon’s been an orphan from about the age of four’ and ‘his new primary caregiver always made him feel like a burden’ and ‘Jon was physically and emotionally bullied by a boy more than twice his age’ - we see the person who jon started out as and it makes so much about him make sense from there, like his ‘posh grandma’ manners and his struggle for human connection from an early age.
But the actual text and themes of mag 81 come across so much like a ‘coming of age’ horror story, almost like a broad outline of a goosebumps novel - ‘little boy finds something spooky, sees something awful but lives to tell the tale’
Everything from a precocious child who likes to wander, to the awful neil gaiman style childrens picture book to that last minute almost moral altercation with a teenage bully - it all feels like a genre horror flick from ‘scary stories’ or ‘tales from the crypt’, or even one of the more tame Stephen Kings- just the glimpse, a brush with something awful but thank god out protagonist escaped in the nick of time.
But of course we know now he didn’t. Jon never escaped, never got out of that web they caught him in. Instead it left him on a long leash (but never as long as he’d like) and let him wander once again, ‘safe’ in the knowledge that the book is gone, the door is closed, maybe mr spider had enough (he never has enough)
And what a way for the web to get what it wants. To instill a lonely little boy whose already lost so much with a hunger, a need to understand what happened all those years ago. Maybe Jon always felt ‘Mr Spider’ might come back, with his awful hatred of all things eight legged, his scrambling need to understand, but everything about his encounter screamed at him that it could only happen there, then, in a short but suffered chapter in his youth.
Instead, what jon needs to know, and ultimately find out, is that there is more out there - more evil books and hungry mouths and open doors - and finds a thousand things in his perfectly crafted ‘fascination’ with the supernatural.
But ultimately there was only one thing out to get him through the works of a thousand whispering voices and grabbing hands.
And it always wanted more.
ssshhh they are sleeping !!
