“Ah that would make sense. You would think a library would attract more intelligent folks, but sadly that is not to be,” Evan offered in solidarity. He didn’t mind her running up his tab. He had duel winnings burning a hole in his pocket, so he could more than afford it.
“I recently read of this muggle filing system that is quite interesting. It’s apparently sorted by classes of subjects and then author’s last name alphabetically. It would seem like it should be an obvious system, but because the classes are always the same, no matter where someone goes, they would know that art and recreation are in the 700′s while religion would be in the 200′s. It makes every library have the same sorts of books in the same locations so if a person frequents two different libraries, they won’t have to remember where the books they desired are between them,” he mentioned. After the war, he had gone into a very private study of muggle culture. So private, El was one of the only people he would allow to know he gained this information.
“That does sound very frustrating, especially if your regulars are bothering you with this as well as newcomers. Would you like me to come visit you at work tomorrow and say anyone that needs help has to duel me first in order to ask you a question?” he offered. “I’ll even say that they don’t have to win, just duel. Winning would mean you would be out of a job since no one could ask you anything,” he added with a smirk. His undefeated dueling record was not going to be destroyed by book enthusiasts.

“Sometimes, I am certain that this world in general does not attract very intelligent people in general.” She said, looking away for a moment. She’d met some of the dumbest people alive working in the library. She listened as he spoke and while it did sound interesting. It also sounded like something they’d never let her implement at her job. She knew it was something that Evan studied privately and she was one of the few to know about it. It didn’t really bother her either way. It could be useful someday and some of it was interesting.
Admittedly, some people would not be good about this information, so she always kept her lips zipped, and her knowledge of said information tucked away. She laughed at his words. “I mean, at least you’re honest. They just have to duel you. Not win. We both know winning against you would be impossible.” She said, as her laughter died down as she settled her thoughts, as well. The idea of people who stuck their noses eternally into books wanting to duel her brother. They’d probably all drop dead right there in their shoes.
“Maybe I’ll get a sign that says I’m not at my desk and just leave for long periods of time. When I come back, I’ll be lacking when it comes to help.” She shrugged. After she thought about this, she came to the realization that was a good way to get fired, and she’d have to find another job. “Too much work to find another job.”
