Sorry to just scroll your blog and reblog a bunch of stuff. Its a unique struggle looking for proship MD fans i feel like im losing my mind. For my ongoing project, I've been attempting to document extremely controversial, offensive, and highly-suppressed books. And I've had a LOT of people say this sort of thing to me. Sometimes they say it about books by racists, other times its about books by pedos or sexists or conspiracy nutjobs or whatever. And I always respond with- "So you really think that these books are going to make SUCH a compelling argument that you'll be convinced to hate certain races or abuse children?" And usually it turns out that what they really think is "No no! It would never work on me! But you're a fucking idiot, so you shouldn't be allowed to read that stuff."

This topic mentions kodocon, no nsfw is mentioned, this is a rant about the complexity around the popular trope legal Kodo and how in some cases it can be boring and inconsistent!

OK, enjoy the rant! 

The concept of “legal Kodo” ,pisses me off  because no that character is not an adult, they are a non-human creature that just simply ages differently than a human being, similar to how dogs age differently than humans the same logic will go for dragons, elf’s, demons, and so much more! It would be a little bit different if they are confirmed to be an adult, but that line starts to get a bit blurry when they act nothing like one everything they do is childish! like there is no way that you have been on this planet for 2000 millennia and still have the maturity of a fucking rock that literally just makes no sense.

I’m not saying that people cannot enjoy these tropes, these tropes are adorable! They’re cute, They’re funny, they’re silly and they’re ridiculous which is why some people like them however, I’m sick and tired of this trope just being seen as a “loophole trope” to be a kodocon instead of an open door for characters with contradicting complexities. When I look at this trope I want to see characters who look young that are a millennia or so, but still have that complex mentality beyond their physical appearance, to be old and wise, just like their age implies them to be instead of “just being bait”.

When you let them actually be that wise, mature presence in a deceptively youthful package, it’s no longer just a justification. It becomes a genuine character trait and I want to see that more with this community. it helps us create better characters with better back stories and with better personalities instead of just them being there for appeal. They can be there as a genuinely compelling character, let alone it just adds a new appeal to the character, a character being small and cute yet being far more mature than you in every way shape or form… we honestly need more characters like that.

And another thing is is that it takes ammo away from antis, like yeah, they can still argue the fact that “they look young” but they cannot argue with the fact that the character is immature and doesn’t have the ability to consent, it makes the conversation a lot more nuanced, especially around the topics of attraction since a lot of people are attracted to characters due to personality. This can make the situation a lot more confusing if the character looks young yet has the maturity of an adult and in that logic IS a adult because now their maturity, personality, and actions matches with the age that they are confirmed to be. 

like no chat, this isn’t a 30000 year old minor, this is a 30000 full grown elf man with back problems and unpaid tabs back at the tavern, and a tiny body full of exhaustion specifically from being infantasized due to his appearance, and the urge for more drinks…

- You can not harm a fictional character

- You are not responsible for how anyone reacts to what you make as long as it is tagged properly

- Fictional characters are not real and do not care what you do to them

(biologically speaking I am, in fact, alive. However, to emphasize how hilarious I found this, I made a hyperbolic statement saying that I was dead because it implies that I found this video so funny I ceased to live. However, I am indeed alive and well so there is no need for you all to worry. I was simply employing the tactic of figurative language in order to better and morue effectively communicate my message. Additionally, using slang and sayings commonly employed by the youth has made my message more understandable and reachable by the younger generation, many of whom are in this chat. For example, I could have said "that video was a real knee slapper". This would have made sense to some of the older people in this chat as knee slapping used to be a sign of hilarity. However, in this digital age in which we now live, knee slapping is not as common and many of today's youth may not understand the reference. I therefore made my message more understandable to younger people through my use of simple, easily understood slang. I hope this clears everything up, and I appreciate any concern that I was actually dead. I can assure you I am alive and well.)😭
