[This is an independent RP blog for the character Elefseus from Sound Horizon.]

While visiting Wolfram today, Lars happened to be there and mentioned how today was Mother's Day. It was a celebration to honor them. So when she returns to the castle, she spots Elef right away and barrels right into him. "Mama!" She calls out toward him, then embraces him, "I wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me, thank you for choosing me! Thank you for being my strength, for being apart of my foundation of support~ I love you!"

"Whoa!”

It was a good thing he had dropped off the documents to Albrecht’s office, otherwise that mess would have taken forever to sort out. But Elef has one arm around his little girl--well, not so little anymore, but he supposes Vanessa will always be his little girl somehow--as she suddenly starts thanking him.

“Vanessa, you know there’s no need to thank me for all that. It’s my job.” Elef goes to pat her head, but then decides to ruffle her hair instead. He knows she likes that, even if it made her look like she just got up from bed. “I love you too, though. You can count on me for anything.”

She enters his study quietly, while trying to hide both her scraped knee and cuts on her face with her hair. The tiny princess barely touches the ground, with the tips of her feet touching down lightly. "Mama." She wedges her way close to Elef, trying to see what he's doing by going on the tip of her toes to peer up at his desk. "Why are you still awake, shouldn't you be with Papa asleep~?"

Steady progress had been made in quelling the minor pockets of insurrection within the kingdom. Most likely, they were caused by neighboring countries hoping to use the discord and confusion as an opportunity to seize control--but Elef’s seen these tactics too often for it to be an actual threat. He’d caught onto it fairly early, so there was plenty of time to try and nip it in the bud. It helped that they had longstanding support from their citizens, thanks to all the efforts he made in showing them that the king did, in fact, care about their well-being and prosperity. If only he could just take them out himself--matched with his Hadean ability, he could single-handedly wrap everything up within two fortnights.

But it would seem like the affairs of the state would have to be put on a short hold.

He looks down at her with a tired smile and gently pats her head. “I should be asking you the same thing. It’s far too late for little ones to be adventuring.”

Elef sets down his quill and picks up his daughter to sit her on his lap. The injuries didn’t escape his notice. From the way she tenses up, she knows that he figured it out. But he’ll let her tell him of her own volition. “Is there something you want to tell me, Vanessa?”

I am… not a chronologically locked rp blog.

That means that if you talk to me to establish that we want to ship our muses, or have a particular relationship or type of report between them, I am 1: totally okay with multiple threads of varying length and styles with you and 2: will probably jump around in the supposed ‘timeline’ of our muses relationships in order to keep things interesting/ make ask prompts work.

For example, we may be writing an intro thread with our muses, but if you wanna send me a thing for like… a first kiss that may happen months down the line (and shipping is what ur up for) go ahead and do it! The way I see it, separate points on a timeline are FUN to RP because then you can look back later and figure out how they connected/ try to work in little details that make them flow together.

Thancred did infact believe this fellow to be a woman until he heard his voice. Suppose there’s no hiding it now. He admitted to his mistake for believing the fellow was a woman. He felt quite embarrassed about it. This was… actually the first time he had mistaken a man for a woman. Good job, Thancred. “My most humble apologies, good sir. I have indeed mistaken you for a beautiful woman…” Thancred too decided to not dwell in that anymore. What would be the point? He would only look like a desperate man.

Moving forward now, Thancred followed along with the fellow from beside. They hasn’t introduced themselves yet, have they?

“My name is Thancred, by the way. It’s a pleasure to meet you. By myth of the town I would be referring to… Ilion was it?” There were myths everywhere in Greece. Could they be true or were they only legends that villagers and townspeople made up? There was so much to learn about the ancient myths. Thancred had so many questions about this land. Oh, what a lover of ancient myths he is…

He supposed that he should be happy to have at least been mistaken for a beauty. Well, let it be.

“My name is Elef.” To be honest, he wished he could say The pleasure is all mine or something to that effect, but there’s no pleasure to be had in this exchange. If he had been left alone, he would be halfway to his destination by now with offerings in his arms. “As for Ilion... Well, perhaps we should go closer to the mountain before we start. But I’ll need to purchase a few things beforehand, if you don’t mind.”

She’s quick to latch onto Elef upon seeing him return from one of his trips to Hades. Vanessa has always been pretty attached to him, ever since she was young. The princess is careful to not stab him with her sword, and she quickly returns it to its sheath. 

“Mama!” She embraces him from behind, while wearing a toothy grin, “You’re back!!” Looking up toward him, she tilts her head, “were you able to sort through those problems you mentioned before? Was Uncle Ameth cooperative this timmme?”

It was a testament to his newfound skill as a parent not to perceive the hug as an immediate threat. He did, of course, feel the press of the sword’s duller edge and hummed a note of mock-disapproval.

“Vanessa, how many times have I told you not to run around with an unsheathed blade?” Elef saw her pout and open her mouth, ready to retort, but he turned himself around in her arms and ruffled her head. “But I’m happy to be back and happier that my daughter came to greet me.”

He was grateful that Amethystos was... generous... enough to take up his mantle as Thanatos’s right hand. Having a family truly did knock off some rough edges from the hardened heart he had built centuries ago and Elef readily admits that he would choose this over being the vessel of any god or being the commander of any army. That being said, it wasn’t as if he was completely removed from the machinations of Hades and its denizens. More often than not, his help was needed. And way more often than not, he had to pluck Amethystos out of a situation.

“As for the problems, they’re all taken care of.” Even if Amethystos was the manifestation of his own purged darkness, sometimes Elef wonders how they could have ever been one person before. “Your Uncle Amethystos, uh... Well, let’s say he, as usual, wouldn’t go down without a fight. Against me and the other three parties he managed to rile up. But fortunately there were a few souls willing to help me break up the altercation. I took him home by your Uncle Marchen’s and hoped for the best.”

Elef sighed at the memory and its chaotic flurry. Thank goodness for Odysseus’s cleverness and the extra hand from Diomedes and Patroclus. But that event is over and he’s home now. “How about you, Vanessa? How were you holding up here? Ah, and is your father back from checking up on the southern front?”

Thancred remembered reading ancient myths about the town of Arcadia which had been renamed as Paradeisos: the land of paradise. Though from the looks of it this town still being rebuilt after the battle between the Slave Hero versus the Hero of Thunder, this town didn’t look too much like some kind of paradise… He wasn’t too surprised. Everyone seemed rather devastated and not very joyful. Still troubled from loss of heir loved ones, homes… everything they had… Thancred had already seen a good amount of places (more like dungeons) that did not look a thing like paradise. However, Thancred could not say that to the man. It would be rude to make quick judgments.

“Ah, right. How could I have forgotten?” Not to mention, the Island of Lesbos had been renamed to Lesvos for… quite some reasons, or so he heard but never read anything about the Island’s name being changed in books, so he still believed the island’s name remained the same. Come to think of it, Thancred definitely wouldn’t mind visiting that Island sometime… But now wasn’t the time for that.

“Is there somewhere we could talk, good sir? I would like to know more about the myth that lies within this town. It is simply just out of curiosity. And also…” he paused for a minute, “I couldn’t help but notice you have been troubled by something eversince–” no Thancred, dats ghey he paused again and thought for another moment. He is totally not still bothered by the fact this fellow is a man, but his face had q bit of feminine features. “Uh, nevermind. Forget I had said anything. Why won’t we find somewhere to talk? Could you please lead the way, good sir?”

“Ever since back there when you first took notice and decided to follow me, I assume? You probably thought I was a girl, huh.” It was only an assumption, but the man he spoke to looked like the playboy type. Elef never understood why people mistook him for a woman--sure, he had a twin sister and they shared quite a startling resemblance, but he would’ve thought the muscles and generally larger build tipped them off. But he couldn’t dwell on that very long. The man asked him about... the myth of the town? Was there even such a thing, in these mountains?

Ah, but, he did vaguely remember the story of his past battle with the late Prince Leontius spreading this far from Ilion. He did retrieve Leontius’s ashes from the city when the threat of foreign invasion loomed. And he did bury it again here. But no one really knew that much--it was a secret only he and the ones below the earth knew.

“The myth of the town... which one might you be referring to, exactly?” he asked. Elef hadn’t been in the area for centuries. Maybe some other, smaller superstitions had cropped up without his knowledge. “I myself haven’t been here in quite some time. I’m not sure how much I can be of help to you.”

His jaws dropped wide open in shock and was speechless for a minute. By the sound of this “woman’s” voice, Thancred had already become disappointed. Right away he knew this “woman” is a man. But he shouldn’t be so rude now. After all he is at fault for following… this man. Quickly he changed his dumbfounded expression to a smile, hopefully he looked at least less suspicious. How would he be bale to explain himself though? Think Thancred! Think fast!

“Good day to you, fellow sir.” Well that should be a start. He couldn’t mention that he had mistooken this man for a woman. “I mean no harm to you. I apologize if I have frightened you.” What else should he say to make himself seem less suspicious? Thancred needed to think fast again. “I’m quite new to this town. Would you mind showing me around?” he asked in hopes the man did not find him suspicious for mistaking him as a woman. It is true though that Thancred was not as familiar to this town compared to this fellow lad here. “This is… Arcadia. Am I correct?” Thancred noticed how troubled the fellow lad was, but he couldn’t just tell him or ask him straight out what was troubling him, so he supposed this could be a start of their acquainting.

Elef’s wandered the earth long enough to discern lies. Still, it’s too much of a bother to try and be angry about it. And there was that dull enjoyment he felt from watching others try and cover those lies up. This one was a little boring, though.

“That would be the ancient name for it, yes,” he replied. It had been so long since he heard the syllables of such a past--one that was hailed as the golden age of gods and heroes. Arcadia: the land of unspoiled wilderness, left pristine like the goddess willed it to be. The name it held now didn’t stray much from the original meaning. “It’s been called Paradeisos in recent eras--it’s more common to call it that.”

Even though there was no paradise to be found in those mountains. Only a life left behind.

Long white beautiful hair? Fuchsia streaks? Huh…. her clothes seems quite tattered. He didn’t want to look at her badly, but.. her hair seemed a little messy too. Or is that how her hair looked in general? Either way she seemed like a beauty with a troubled soul. Her eyes though… is what had caught Thancred’s attention.

He sighed and smiled. He couldn’t let a woman with some kind of troubled soul be bothered by anything. What could be troubling her? Thancred jumped from a crate he was sitting on. Uh oh. She was getting away. Unfortunately he had no roses on him at the moment. The most he could do was just keep her company. Perhaps give her a hand? Thancred followed the woman far behind. He wasn’t expecting her to notice him right away, but he continued to follow.

This was going to be more trouble than he bargained for.

How long has this man been following him? Elef always strove to not stir up any trouble and he doesn’t recall doing anything to warrant a grudge. He kept his appearance sparse and held no possession of riches other than the small satchel of coins, just in case, hidden out of sight. Was he looking for a fight and thought him to be an easy target?

Another few meters passed and Elef finally had enough. “Whatever it is you need of me, speak already. I’m tired of having you cling so close to my shadow for such a long time.”

“Well if isn’t Elef,” He’s surprised, but he didn’t think he’d see the other in these part of the woods prior. Ido leans on the lip of the well, “didn’t think I’d see you in this neck of the woods, I thought you had duties to attend.” It wasn’t often that the boy would visit, but it was usually to come see Märchen and Wolfram –– along with his…his daughter, yes. “What brings you here? Is your daughter well?”

Things don’t seem to bode well for him if he was running into Idolfried so early in the day. “A certain someone wanted to pluck them from my hands since they thought it’d be fun to try and rein in the souls from the Old War.” Ajax the Lesser, especially, is a handful--he doesn’t seem to be satisfied unless he stirs up some trouble every now and then. Although he feels mildly sorry for what’s coming to him, perhaps Amethystos is just what he needs to fall in line. As for the rest... “I'm allowed to roam as I please without cause, can’t I? I’m not trespassing on anyone’s property.”

Elef certainly didn’t expect Vanessa to be brought up, however. Has Ido even met her before? “...She's well. She’s a capable warrior in her own right. So you’d best keep your honeyed tongue and sticky fingers to yourself lest you’re in need of a blade in your flesh.”
