#as noted before possibly the worst part of this scene is that last frame where he lets her down gently #but instead of dropping her down and away he DIPS HIS FOREHEAD AND FOLLOWS HER DOWN maintaining contact #and this is after the second frame where he’s visibly having a small max-freakout at ‘what is non-violent physical proximity not sure not sure’ #and within about 2.3 seconds he’s like OH THIS #I REMEMBER #he picks up the concept of maintaining gentle proximity #and is just immediately ‘gonna keep doing that now that i know how it works’ #i mean the wild animal analogy is apt #this is the junkyard dog that will be 100% caution and growls and unpredictable barks until it’s cool with you #then as soon as it’s cool with you it’ll probably sleep sprawled over you with like 3 of its limbs in the air #i’m not saying max would sleep awkwardly but completely sprawled over furiosa’s legs #but I’m not NOT saying that #even in the most platonic jaeger pilot version of this dynamic max is all in favour of sleeping in a cuddle puddle #and furiosa isn’t necessarily about that but is like 'whatever it’s easier than moving you’ #and they both sleep better that way anyway
