[[I LIVE HI]]
[[Hi! I'm still on this plane of existence, just still very busy!]]
Send my muse a fear you see them having, and they will rate it from 0-10 depending on how much it frightens them.
0 being “I’m not scared of that at all” to 10 being “NOPE NOPE NOPE”

She took the information about memories in stride. Mostly she was just relieved she wouldn’t have to explain all of that again.
“That’s the gist of it. The Cliffnotes version, if you will.” Lark took a moment more to continue responding.
“I was… we were built to kill people. Mostly high up and powerful people. For any reason we were given. Political gain, economic competition, start conflict, silencing certain voices…
It didn’t quite work the way our creators wanted. We were good at it, sure, but they made the mistake of trying to make three at once. And they hadn’t worked out any potential issues. They lost control of the oldest one. Raven. He… we… fled the facility. There were casualties.
Two of us hid in a bunker. That was the place with the explosives in the walls. We were there for several years, laying low to avoid detection. But then we were tracked down and…” Lark shook her head. “Now it’s just me.”
[He snapped his fingers at that.]
Siam: I thought as much.
Siam: You know, so many of us have been built in conflict with humans rather than harmony that it’s easy to forget if that was the case, or if we were just thinking of ourselves.
Siam: In theory that should bother me more, I suppose, but it doesn’t really; it just makes it familiar, honestly.
[He frowned.]
Siam: I’m sorry that you were in hiding all that time and lost your youngest brother. He didn’t seem too bad.
[He felt he should have made more of an effort to look for her during those years where they lost contact, but…]
Siam: -Somewhat distantly- Time can be unkind to the best of us, let alone the rest of us.
[…what could he have done, really? It had been all he could do to keep Cardinal from falling apart at the seams for most of it.]
Siam: I did miss you, you know?
Siam: You’ve always been so kind to me.
Siam: I’m sorry that I haven’t really done much or been very interesting. You mean more than I’ve really expressed.
She smiled slightly. "Or we were built under a different definition of harmony. I don't think doing the dirty work of some humans is harmony... and our existence wasn't an issue until things started going wrong.
Oh, time... it makes no exceptions. Sort of comforting in a strange way."
Lark frowned a bit. "Please, don't be sorry. It's not something that could have been prevented. At least not without a lot of messiness happening." And a lot of potential danger for more than just the people directly involved.
"I missed you too. You've been such a source of inspiration. I'm sorry I didn't let you know what was going on, but... it wasn't safe for anyone." She had missed him dearly. Even just knowing someone out there supported her and cared about her meant a lot.
"Oh, don't be sorry! You always have interesting things to say. I like listening to you. Sometimes you get really into talking about things you're working on. And even though sometimes I get a little lost, it's stuff that matters to you, so the least I can do is listen to and support you."
She gave him a warm smile. "Besides. You're my best friend, and other than Peanut you're all I have right now. If anything, I'm the one who should apologize for not being around much."

“About my past?” Well, this was a bit of a problem… she sighed, uncrossing her legs and leaning back a little. “What have I told you about it? Memory is still… lots of corruption and bad data.” Lark smiled humorlessly. “Consequence of someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing poking around with my software…”
[Well, this was going to be a bit embarrassing to explain.]
Siam: 💬
Siam: 💧
[He looked away slightly, putting a hand to the back of his head.]
Siam: …When we don’t use memories much, they get replaced in the immediate sense with just the cross-reference triggers, which can activate recall to the compressed files stored on the server. That isn’t necessarily going to always be all that accurate, though.
Siam: I know things, but… they might not be accurate. Especially with the terrible strain that hung over the family for over three and a half years…
[He looked up.]
Siam: I know you weren’t the only one in your family, but you are now. There was danger… and I know that it’s been hounding you for a while. When we spoke in PokéParis, you were troubled… and in the earlier years, you were staying somewhere with explosives in the walls.
((Yeah, he’s never going to live that one down.))
She took the information about memories in stride. Mostly she was just relieved she wouldn't have to explain all of that again.
"That's the gist of it. The Cliffnotes version, if you will." Lark took a moment more to continue responding.

Brisies hummed in response to what Lark was saying. This still felt new to her with a human brushing her mane instead of pulling it to make her go a direction someone wanted her to go. She stayed still and let a snort out to get the flies out of her face.
True to her word it was only another minute or so until Lark was done brushing out her mane. "There ya go, no more tangles." She felt a little guilty for not being able to do anything about the flies. For the moment she lacked the supplies to do so.
“ Briseis. And your name? “
The mare introduced herself formally as felt somewhat relaxed with the human combing her mane. It felt nice but this would be more Acantha’s speed with being kind and sweet while Briseis tended to be shallow at first.
"Lark. Like the bird," she replied. "I'm almost done. Just a few more tangles." Lark was personally enjoying a quiet moment like this. Especially around a horse. She adored them, and missed the horse she had a few years ago.

“ Would you like for me to lay down so that you can reach better? “
She asked while not moving to so she wouldn’t make it more difficult for Lark. Her ears twitched so that she can listen for any sort of danger that might come to harm them, but Briseis did tend to worry a lot.
"Only if you want to lay down. I don't mind reaching up to do this." Lark knew laying down put horses in a vulnerable position, and didn't want to stress the mare out.
"What's your name?" She asked as she continued finger combing her mane. It wasn't taking her long to do so.

“Even if it’s for a short while, I’m really glad things have quieted down.” They needed it for sure. “I’d love to hear about your trip when you get back!” Fate knows they deserved to have fun. Kick back, relax, go sightseeing… she wasn’t sure when the last time they’d been able to do so was, but Lark really was glad they were having a chance to do so.
“Military… no… not lately at any rate. Wouldn’t surprise me if someone was trying to find me. Past is gonna catch up with me eventually.”
Siam: What can you tell me about that?
[It had been a while since they had discussed that, and he wanted to make sure he wasn’t working off of old data. The past had an unpleasant tendency to change without warning, especially for people who hadn’t been around in a while.]
"About my past?" Well, this was a bit of a problem... she sighed, uncrossing her legs and leaning back a little. "What have I told you about it? Memory is still... lots of corruption and bad data." Lark smiled humorlessly. "Consequence of someone who doesn't know what they're doing poking around with my software..."
A sigh escaped her body as she finally gave in since they wanted to do something nice for her. Acantha has really been giving Briseis a hard time for being mean so she’s working on being a little more approachable.
“ It’s fine. Just as long as you don’t cut it right? “
"Oh, I'd never do that without asking first. Besides, this length is very becoming on you." Once they were in a spot where Lark could reach the mare's mane a little better, she began to gently untangle Briseis's mane with her fingers. She tried her best to not pull on it. As more and more burrs came out she was able to comb through it with her fingers, being as gentle as she could be.
@elektrosweet has wished to meet one of the mares
Briseis wasn’t really in the mood with what this person was doing but here she was. Being with them and going along with what they were doing. The chestnut mare wasn’t fully paying attention as she kept walking in the direction they were going.
"I just wanna get some of the burrs and dirt out of your mane. If you don't want me to that's fine too... but I just want to fix your mane. That's all..." Lark explained. If the chestnut mare was willing, Lark would also brush her coat and tail out.
