The Dot System

A dot

Simple yet special

You look at it and think

Make up a life story

Yet never truly know

The truth behind the layer you see

The dot says they’re fine and you move on

Then the dot moves to a different song

No one notices me, a single dot in the great wide existence

You want to yell, I notice you, but you have already forgotten

Where the dot was

What the dot looked like

Draw a dot, only a small dot

Now laminate it or not

Keep it for a week

Look and use it for something special every day

And at the end of every day say, I love you

The next week the dot is alive

The person who is in your class or work

The person you never knew was in your classroom or at work

Talk to them every day of the week

Make them matter

Give them your dot

The next week start over

If everyone did this

No dot would feel small

No dot would feel invisible

And you will never become the dot
