˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ NPC INTRODUCTION, SUBJECT 002. YONDU UDANTA: in this brief look into the character, we're going to talk about three yondus here to better understand 616 yondu. this will help us understand where he comes from, what he's doing today, and lastly, how i portray yondu on this blog. step into my office.

let's begin with 691 yondu. this is yondu's first iteration in comics. the 691 universe can most easily be explained as "the universe where some stuff in cosmic marvel happened before the start of the 616 universe". yondu in this universe is from a peaceful tribe. he's an empath. he hunts with a bow and arrow. he eventually runs into people from the stars and joins their team. ironically, this team is the first rendition of the guardians of the galaxy. he has a rather insignificant part to play in this universe, as he eventually goes on to sacrifice his life for his team. womp womp.

onto 616. this is probably how a majority of people know him. this is the space pirate ravager yondu. this version of yondu came from the same tribe as the one mentioned above, but upon trying to pull off a theft heist, something went wrong. a lot of his tribe died. he tried his best to keep it quiet to avoid ex-communication, but the tribe elders found out. his crest was cut (the red shape on his head), and due to shame , through self-mutilation, he keeps his crest shaved close to his head. this crest also is where the arrow whistling power comes from. he goes on to lead the ravagers, which is where we know he meets peter. (i also want to note: yondu has been a leader/member of the badoon, which is a notorious alien gang.)

now, depending on post-mcu 616 or pre-mcu 616 is where you get some divergence.

pre-mcu 616: peter is picked up after a kree warhead leaves him stranded in space - well into his adulthood. peter manages to outsmart the entire crew (including yondu), and yondu ultimately sees some of himself in peter. offering him a chance to learn the art of space pirating, peter begins working for the ravagers under his tutelage. when peter leaves, the ravagers and the gotg have this kind of "give and take" dynamic. they're sometimes allies, sometimes enemies of circumstance; it all depends.

post-mcu 616: peter is picked up when yondu is sent to kill him and/or meredith. he takes this familial role and raises (often with abusive undertones) peter until he leaves to go on to do his outlaw thing. the mcu has made the bond between yondu and peter very familial, when it's not truly like that. on its very best day, yondu is a temporary mentor to peter.

791 yondu. earth-791 is the universe in which a majority of my canon stems from. this is peter's 70's canon, which is later added into early 616 . and to put it plainly, 791 yondu just doesn't exist. not as we know him. however, i do think there is a protoype yondu at work in this universe. walk with me.

we know gareth hired people to kill meredith. he hired the prototype badoon, lead by a guy named kyras shakati, from an alien planet that specializes in trade. now, kyras is a notable merchant and trader (something the current ravagers do) with the belief that anything can be bought at the price (again, current ravagers). kyras also possesses an empathic and telepathic gem (empathy being something 691 yondu had, too).

now if you take current 616 canon, you can also add here that yondu and kyras have even more similarities, when you consider that current yondu is usually implied to be a part of the badoon when they kill merdith. though it's not outwardly stated, i do strongly believe later universes took notes from kyras' lore to create both versions of yondu we know today.

now, what applies to this blog. i pick pieces from both 616 canon and 791, as we know. my version of yondu includes:

616 beginnings.

is a part of the badoon when they kill meredith.

did not deal the final blow.

helped secure the contract between gareth and the badoon.

piloted the ship to terra.

wouldn't go on to meet peter until after peter defeats gareth and has ultimately given up the full extent of his revenge.

i headcanon that peter briefly swallows his anger to spend a few months learning the pirating trade from yondu. when peter feels like he's learned enough, he steals a ravager ship (now known as the milano!) and turns the crew into the novacorps. yondu has escaped at this point, but peter will always hold a hatred for him. he's said multiple times that yondu should consider himself lucky to even be a little useful to peter, which is the only reason yondu continues to live. peter's also sworn that when yondu is no longer useful to him, he plans to kill him, themself.

that said, i actually think 616 yondu can actually be super compelling in the right hands. we know he feels things like shame and guilt, especially when it comes to himself and his own actions. i would love to explore the mixed feelings that would undoubtedly come from peter working with yondu for a few months.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ META, SUBJECT 005. THE QUILL FAMILY : a full look at peter's ties with his family. rp partners are welcome to reference this at any time. otherwise, this is not to be referenced nor drawn inspiration from.

introduction: for full transparency, i want to state that this is a complete mix between old canon and new canon. the bendis run retconned the original jason of spartax, and replaced him with j'son - and instead made the original jason j'son's father. jasons everywhere. the issue with the former canon is that jason (original) removes the memory of himself to save meredith the heartbreak of losing him. he never leaves the element guns for peter, and so a domino effect happens through time which would ultimately affect the continuity of my canon. for clarity's sake, the familial ties goes as follows: jason is father to king j'son of spartax. j'son of spartax is brothers with gareth of spartax. j'son and meredith quill are peter's biological parents. victoria is his half-sister, and kip holm is peter's adopted brother.

# PARENTAL.

001. J'SON OF SPARTAX: father to peter quill, and the king of the spartoi empire. j'son was the eldest son to the previous emperor of spartax, and thus inherited the throne. in his travels across the stars as a young man, a war broke out between spartax and the badoon. his father summoned him to war, and on the way home, he crash-landed on earth. there, he was tended to by a meredith quill. after a whirlwind romance, he left with the promise to return, since war was still plaguing his planet. he never returned, and sought out his son upon discovering his existence when peter became an adult and ventured out into the stars. peter and j'son met before the lineage was learned, when peter murdered his younger brother, gareth of spartax. the two would part ways from this first meeting without being aware they were related. j'son would later seek him out (in the worst of ways) when the connection was made.

j'son is a smooth, focused man, who comes off authoritative but charming. he's a member of the galactic council, and ultimately uses his position and his title for his own personal gain.

their relationship. a disaster, at best. j'son's attempt to reconnect with his son was capturing the guardians of the galaxy, which didn't go well. j'son outed himself as a murderer, a nd peter then took that information to the people of spartax, forcing him to go on the run. he's done a multitude of war-related crimes that peter has never and will never stand by, including decimating the kree homeplanet, hala. peter's overthrown j'son's rule, taken king for himself, and mutual resentment has built between them. ultimately, peter handed the throne to victoria, but j'son and peter continue to be at violent odds. no matter how much peter longs to have a father figure, he knows j'son will never be it so long as he acts as an enemy and threat to the universe.

002. MEREDITH QUILL : a wonderful woman with a love for the stars, meredith grew up in a small town outside of boulder, co -- near the rocky mountains. she lived with her parents on a small farm and became a very beloved member of the community. she was outgoing, friendly, and kind - with a great taste in music. though it was simple, she was incredibly happy with her small town life in her early twenties. upon star-gazing one night, she saw a spaceship crash land on the farm. she rescued the strange man from his burning ship, took care of his wounds, and quickly fell in love with this spaceman.

their relationship would not last, as j'son had to return home in order to see his people safe once again. he promised to return for her one day, and she believed it. things so rarely happen as we plan. she met a man, jake, who reminded her of j'son and began an unsteady relationship. though upon wanting to part ways, she discovered she was pregnant. she stayed with the man until the day of his death (and peter's birth).

now a single mother, she raised peter as best she could. it was nowhere near perfect, but peter grew up with a close bond with her. she instilled in him a moral compass to always do what he believed to be right. she gave him a fighting spirit, and a desire and love for the stars.

the day of her death remains one of the worst days in peter's memory. at ten years old, j'son's brother, gareth, o rchestrated for the badoon to attack the farm and end the spartoi bloodline in order for himself to secure the throne. peter took the element guns and fended off the badoon assassins, but not before they killed his mother. from then on, peter would be hop from foster home to foster home.

their relationship. as any child who has lost their parent, peter's memory of her is idolized. she was far from a perfect woman, as anyone is, but when he talks of her, he acts as though she was untouchable. the gentler, more altruistic parts of peter's personality stem from her. he often wonders if he would have her approval after all this time of being alive and experiencing the vastness of the cosmos.

003. MEREDITH'S PARENTS : two very kind small-town people, they married after being high school sweethearts and had meredith. they made a steady living off of farming. meredith's mother was the leader of the book club, and meredith's father was the local handyman. they fully supported meredith in raising peter, and often encouraged his altruistic ideals.

their deaths were peter's first experience with death. meredith's father died first from a long life of labor. meredith's mother died a few months later. meredith was surprisingly at peace with their passing, grateful for the lives they lived. peter had a harder time coping, but would grow to appreciate all that they did for him in the time he knew them.

their relationship. before their death when peter was nine (and then ten, in the case of his grandmother), they were a close, tight-knit family. both grandparents came alongside their child and treated peter like a child of their own. he remembers them fondly, and some of his oldest music taste (namely the 60's) stems from them.

004. JAKE : this is the man meredith met after j'son left earth. he reminded her of j'son, and so the two began dating. shortly after, it was revealed that meredith was pregnant. deciding to stick around, he moved in and planned a life with his girlfriend and soon-to-be child. he died on the day of peter's birth. upon seeing the child, he suspected infidelity and flew into a rage. he attempted to strangle the infant, but died instantly of a heart attack. in my portrayal, this is divine intervention by fate/the cosmos/destiny - in order for peter to become the star-lord.

their relationship. nonexistent, for obvious reasons. meredith very rarely talked about him. most of the stories peter heard were regarding her romance with j'son. when mentioned to peter, she always adds that he was never peter's father, and j'son was much kinder.

005. GARETH OF SPARTAX : younger brother to j'son of spartax. from an early age, he longed for the throne of spartax. when j'son's ship crashed, he briefly took command for a time and hoped his brother would never return. when he did, he sought to take the throne from beneath j'son, so when it was discovered that j'son had fallen in love with a terran woman, he hired the badoon to kill her and anyone else in the vicinity to end j'son's lineage. the plot to kill j'son spans over a decade, and he never quite gets to it -- much to his downfall.

peter's first act as star-lord is to hunt down the badoon and find who hired them to kill his mother. first, he murdered his mother's actual assassin, kyras. afterwards, he met gareth of spartax (unknowing that he was his uncle at the time), and killed him in cold blood.

their relationship. minimally (non)existent. peter thinks of him less as an uncle, and more of the one who killed his mother. nothing more. nothing less. he's a dead man now, and one of the only killings that doesn't haunt him.

# SIBLING.

VICTORIA OF SPARTAX : daughter of j'son, he hid her away on an off-world planet for most of her childhood. to proof her worth to her father, when she grew up, she became the captain of the spartax royal guards. one of peter's first meetings with her consisted of victoria attempting to collect a bounty on peter's head in order to rebuild the spartax empire. he eventually convinced her to work with him and obtain even more money for the empire. they're frequently at odds due to victoria's loyalty to her father, and peter's lack thereof. however, peter genuinely does adore her and wishes to see her take the throne.

their relationship. often at odds, occasionally enemies. that said, there is something of a secret loyalty towards each other. peter will avoid fighting her at all costs and try to convince her towards his way of thinking. when peter resigns as king of spartax, he appoints his sister.

KIP HOLM (AND THE REST OF THE HOLM FAMILY): originally from jaeger iv (a sea-type planet), kip and his wife sandy were enslaved by an invading species of alien. peter saved their people with their help, and brought the two on to his first journey-- to find the badoon (and then gareth). after defeating gareth, kip and sandy decided to stay on spartax to help the empire however they could. j'son would formally adopt kip as a thank you for saving their people, and officially name them the adopted heirs of the spartoi throne.*

kip and sandy would go on to have three children. alian, rhys, and robyn. as they aged and peter did not, both him and j'son ensured that their family lineage was taken care of on spartax.

** for clarification, this all took place before victoria was even conceived. since she is officially j'son's child, following peter, she would have access to the throne before the holm's.

their relationship. very close. for the longest time, peter considered the holm family his closest friends. he longs to see them thrive and loves taking them on adventures with him. he returned to spartax often and took care of them as they aged. similarly, he treats their lineage with upmost respect and care.

# SPOUSAL.

MORS AND ARADIA : mors and aradia are a polyamorous married couple who reside in the gateway dimension, morinus. when peter crash-lands on their planet, they take him in and nurse him back to health. they show significant patience towards peter's rather stand-off-ish ways, and continue to be kind and open. they're both strong fighters in their own right, and are fully connected to this dimension.

it takes over a decade to begin a relationship with them, another 50 years to marry them, and then another 30-ish years to agree to finally have a child with them. when peter's enemies find him in this dimension, he leaves his family behind for his own sake. he never gets to say goodbye to mors and rocky, as his husband and child are on the run from zeus. he only says goodbye to aradia, who asks him not to forget them before he goes.

** for clarification, this takes place before adam and peter get together whatsoever.

their relationship. incredibly strong, though nonexistent as of now. mors and aradia displayed a peaceful life and showed him that there was more than violence and blood. they brought him real peace for a time. for that, he will always cherish his time with them. he knows that by now (many years after the fact) that he has outlived them. he only hopes they died with all the peace that they'd showed him.

# OFFSPRING.

ROCKET "ROCKY" QUILL : the child born between peter and aradia. peter got to spend the first two and and half years with rocky before heading back to the proper dimension. he shared his father's fighting spirit through and through, while favoring his mother so very much.

their relationship. minimally existent. before rocky's aging (and eventual death), his parents both told him stories of peter. he clung to the idea of his father being some hero from the stars. this is a direct parallel to peter's childhood with his own father, but for the better this time.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ META, SUBJECT 004. SPARTAX, A CULTURAL ANALYSIS : this is a collection of bits gathered from what little we know about the spartax people and its culture. rp partners are welcome to reference this at any time.

introduction. once again for clarity's sake, this is somewhat of a mix between old canon and new canon. the physical aspects of spartax (formerly sparta) are primarily based on 70's canons (see: star-lord, the special edition from like the 80's or something idk), meanwhile the cultural aspects are a more healthy mix of old/new canon. bottom line, there's a big lack of information on either. in the bendis run, the gotg spends time on spartax, but it's in prison - and then escaping, so we don't get a good look at the culture.

THE SPARTOI EMPIRE.

001. the large mellaganic cloud, which happens to be a dwarf galaxy near the milky way galaxy. the spartoi empire spans across hundreds of planets in this galaxy. in fact, it's so large that it nearly engulfs the full planetary system of the galaxy. there are a few worlds that have avoided the spartoi rule, but they maintain trade with these planets peacefully. this is also near the shi'ar galaxy, with which spartax shares an alliance with.

002. spartax, the crown jewel of the spartoi empire. this is the planet in which the spartoi people originate from. this is their capital, and where the royal family resides. the planet consists of four continents and cities. there's a significant range of topography, including futuristic cities, small towns, mountains, oceans, and wilderness.

001. thrace. this is what outer wilderness of the continents are referred to. peter's fought off some monstrous creatures here. this area has cliffs and jungles and deserts, just depending on where on the planet you're at. "thrace" itself is less of a place and more of a name for the outskirts of each continent.

002. marathon, is the continent in which the capital city is located. this is a more mountainous region, with a very bustling hub in the center. the imperial center is carved directly into the mountain's surface, with the palace of the royal family at the far end against the mountain.

003. calyndriar (image below) has always been the imperial capital of the spartoi empire. as stated in the previous note, this capital is carved into the mountain face on marathon. all of calyndriar faces the open sky, with only the palace's prison and armory kept deeper within the mountain itself. as we see below, the spartoi have reached a near perfect harmony of nature and technology. the capital is overflowing with advanced tech (centuries above terra), while preserving the planet's natural habitat.

003(a) [ exterior. ] the royal palace. the prize of calyndriar, and the home to the royal family. the palace exists on the far end of the capital city, closest to the mountain's face. it stretches high above the city below, and spans an impressive range across a percentage of calyndriar's width. upon seeing the palace from a distance, multiple towers and sections can be observed. the palace is a mix between regal and futuristic. its large and golden, representing its grand monarchy -- however, a majority of the towers appear to be more like scientific observatories with telescopes and scientific monitoring equipment on the exterior.

003(b) [ interior. ] upon entering the palace, its grand interior does well to match its exterior. there's a large entryway, with a span of hallways and quarters on either side. everything is grand and larger than life. upon entry, a throne room for the king sits atop another set of stairs. this is mostly for tourism and observation, as most of the spartoi diplomatic issues are handled behind closed doors.

003(c) [ rooms. ] the palace is divided by living quarters, official political areas, and then rooms that can be considered "extracurriculars". the living quarters are rather self-explanatory. this wing of the palace is for the royal family to rest their heads. there are many guest rooms and various quarters for those who work in the palace. this area includes (but is not limited to): a full, large kitchen, a private courtyard, and a private observatory. the political area would be the center of the palace. this includes (but is not limited to): the throne room, ballrooms, grand feasting rooms, a museum of spartoi culture, and a conference auditorium for the galactic peace-keeping union spartax is allied with, and so on. this is where tourists would likely spend the most of their time. the "extracurriculars" would be on the right side. this is the leisure area for the royal family and those who might be staying. this includes high-tech spas, observatories, another private courtyard, training rooms and gyms, etc. there is a prison beneath the palace, itself. although, there are no "highly dangerous" prisoners kept on the top floors of the prison, but rather deep within the mountain.

001. the spartoi share an ancestry with the shi'ar, though the specifics aren't listed. this ancestry is where the advanced, scientific beliefs of the spartoi people stem from. as the shi'ar are highly advanced technologically wise - but also militarized, the spartoi have not taken after the hard-set belief of having an extremely strong military. though j'son rules strictly, his alliances have mostly been through peaceful treaties. that said, spartax is ready and capable to go to war at any point, as they have multiple times with the kree and the badoon. these days, spartax and shi'ar share an alliance, given the proximity of their empires.

002. the government type of spartax is an elective monarchy. these elected officials are nearly seen as gods. j'son's father, jason, was elected. since then, the royal family has stayed the same. jason's throne was passed down to his son. j'son rules off and on throughout canon. he's given it to kip holm in order to seek out his son, however quickly took it back when peter rejected him. when peter exposed j'son's murderous ways, peter was then elected as their next king. he took the throne for a few months, before passing it on to his sister. as of right now in my canon, victoria of spartax is the empress* of the the spartax empire. (unless, of course, we are doing things in my king quill verse). it's important to take note that the leader never works alone. there is a parliament behind each figurehead, who advise their decisions. this consists of about 10 different people, usually diplomats from the various planets in the spartax empire.

** in regards to official titles, canon is incredibly inconsistent in what they refer their royalty to. it flips from "president", to "king" to "emperor". for this portrayal, i prefer emperor for j'son and peter, and empress for victoria - a sign that she's bringing the empire into a new age.

003. the technology on spartax is a massive feat by any terran lens. this is their highlight. this is where they've made their name and place in the stars. the spartoi have a near divine belief in technology and outer space, and so they've honed their lives around it. this is the source of the spartax empire's wealth, which have fueled a multitude of technological revelations across multiple galaxies. every ship is supplied with a universal translator. travel by teleportation technology is a regular occurrence. holograms, projections, and all sorts of space related technology is at the highest level on spartax. there are likely a few empires that have perfected it beyond their capabilities thus far, but for humanoids, they're ridiculously advanced.

** as a reference, kryptonian culture in dc's superman comics are comparable to the spartoi in regards to culture.

004. appearances of the spartoi people vary greatly. because of hundreds of generations through cross-populating across the spartax empire, there is no set "look" for one spartoi or another. one spartax can have fairly humanoid features, such as j'son, peter, and victoria. otherwise, spartax can look very alien with a variety of different features. some have singular eyes, multiple arms, and skin colors that vary from terran flesh to hot pinks, greys, and purples. spartax is also working on perfecting near-immortality. the spartoi age at a decelerated rate, spanning hundreds (but not thousands) of years of life. j'son and victoria will both meet their ends, but likely for not 500-600 more years, yet. peter is a special case, as being the star-lord has made him immortal.

004. social culture. in regards to the social interactions of the spartoi people, they're rather out-going and involved in the lives of others. after all, conversation is often how ideas are transferred from person to person. larger families aren't uncommon, as the spartoi believe that with evolution comes with progression of society. families are warm to each other. this warmth initially began as an intellectual assessment that children excel when shown affection by parental figures. these days, it's a natural doing of the spartoi. friendly gatherings are not uncommon.

005. business culture. there are large marketplaces across the four continents of spartax, where weekly booths are set up to trade agricultural goods (food, clothes, etc). this is seen as a social event and a time to catch up with neighbors. there are businesses who supply other goods and operate throughout the week, though spartax does not have large "chains" and such. each store is individual to the owner and respected for their differences.

006. holidays. the spartoi take part in a variety of holidays, most importantly is the coronation day of any new elected royalty. all planets in the spartax empire throw a week-long festival in honor of their new monarch. since it's such a rare occasion, all the stops are pulled out. children come out of school, hundreds of thousands of spartoi gather around the palace to watch their new monarch be crowned and swear an oath of service to the spartax people. peter went through one after he was elected. another holiday that is celebrated are both equinoxes and solstices. the spartoi's main area of praise sits around the sun. more on that below. but those sun-related days are highly celebrated by the spartoi. these are akin to "christmas" or "hannukah" for the people. gift-giving, thanks-giving type holidays for their existence. they also celebrate the new year with grand fanfare. birthdays are similar. since they have no particular "religious" figure, there are little to none religion based holidays.

007. religious culture. as mentioned above, there aren't many religions on spartax. the universal church of truth has slowly began infiltrating its outer areas, but it hasn't hit the capital. outer planets are more religious, but for the very technology-based center (spartax, itself), religion isn't something that's very common - though it's not illegal or discouraged. just not a common belief that a higher power created the known universe. however, as stated above, they worship their nearest sun. so much so, the spartoi have designed their banner and emblem after this sun, itself.

this is more of an ending footnote than anything. peter holds a deep love for the spartoi people. they're a part of him, he's a part of them. he became their monarch in a time of crisis and feels for them deeply. he blames j'son for not being able to experience this very important side of himself earlier in his life. in his old age, he's realized that his fascination with the stars and aerospace technology likely stems from his spartax heritage, and for that, he will always love the spartoi. because of this heritage, he became the star-lord.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ META, SUBJECT 003. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - MEMBERS AND HISTORY : this is a complete breakdown of the gotg teams through the ages, what they do, who they are, and their relationship with peter. with pictures. this is not to be used as inspiration or influence. rp partners can rb!

INTRODUCTION: throughout the years, the guardians have had a multitude of team members in and out. in this meta, we'll look at the original team, past members and teams, spin-off teams, and the current guardians team. most of these have been lead by peter, himself. when peter steps away for brief periods of time, either rocket or kitty pryde takes over as their leader.

¹ WHAT ARE THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: it's a common misconception that the guardians are a group of outlaws (mostly due to the mcu). while it's true some members of the guardians are fugitives, they're not a team of mercenaries/outlaws or anything of the like. rather, the guardians of the galaxy is a team formed during a very vulnerable time in the universe. under peter quill, they were formed in order to keep the universe from complete collapse. their purpose is to be a pre-crisis team, going in and stopping disasters before they happen.

² WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED? the guardians of the galaxy can be found anywhere a cosmic crisis may be. however, their base is located on knowhere . a representative for the gotg can always be found on the celestial head (be it cosmo, mantis, or another).

³ HOW DO THEY TRAVEL? depending on the situation, they may use the continum cortex. this is a teleportation device located on knowhere, itself. for closer scenarios, the gotg deploys a stolen ravager ship known as 'the milano' for space travel.

⁴⁻¹ THE ORIGINAL TEAM : formed in the wake of both the annihilus wave and the phalanx virus. star-lord formed this team under the advice of richard rider, who also believed a team needed to be made in order to keep the universe from total collapse. peter implied less than savory means of getting this team to join his cause - employing mantis to alter their emotions and "encourage" each one to join. this would later cause the team to split and go through a rift in order to rebuild.

— peter quill/star-lord. star-lord and all around tactician expert, peter forms the team after the events of annihilation and the phalanx virus. he's of the belief that a team needs to be put together to keep these massive wars from starting, knowing that the universe can't continue taking blow after blow. the events of annihilation and conquest left him defeated at first, even going so far as to abandon his heroic name and beliefs. however, at the end of these wars and the forming of the guardians of the galaxy, peter finds his confidence and purpose returned to him.

— adam warlock. cosmic sorcerer, former holder of the infinity gauntlet, and recently reborn. adam originally joins believing the same thing that peter does: that the universe needs a protector to keep it from total collapse in its fragile state. they're the gotg battle mage and sensitive to oncoming conflicts . peter looks to him for direction in where the gotg are needed.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. peter relies on him often for their power and insight, trusting that warlock will go where they're needed. though they struggle at the beginning (due to peter's betrayal and then the magus' resurfacing), they grow to mutually understand each other. over time, this understanding turns to friendship turns to something more. the development of their relationship is slow, as both of them are burdened with cosmic duty and their own mental restraints.

— arthur douglas/drax the destroyer. the heavy of the team, the one compelled to destroy thanos. he joined with phyla after the death of his daughter, seeking purpose like most of the others. another highly valued member of the gotg. peter relies on him for strength of body — but primarily, strength of his will.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. as another father having grieved the loss of a child, peter and drax form a deep bond that not many of the other team members would understand. they share an understanding of grief and a necessity to be strong of heart and mind. he's so trusted by peter that when peter returns to leading the guardians, he entrusts drax with the power stone to guard.

— gamora zen whoberi ben titan. the deadliest woman in the galaxy. she originally joined on the advice of richard rider. after feeling without a purpose in response to losing the phalanx virus, richard pointed her towards the team. he believed they would give her a purpose, and they did. joining the guardians allowed gamora to become more than just herself.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. their bond became intensely close rather fast. through their mutual tie of richard rider, gamora and peter found common ground. they share an "ends (almost) justify means" mentality. through the ages, she's been one of the most solid members of the gotg. peter knows without a doubt that he can rely on her. to this day, he considers her one of his very best friends.

— groot. the last of the royal family on planet x, and the last flora colossi. though he joined as a twig that hung out on rocket's shoulder, he would eventually grow (in the literal sense) to become a powerful ally. originally a part of peter's rag tag team during the phalanx, he spoke and towered above the rest of the team members. after sacrificing himself for the team, groot was left with a traumatic injury that left his vocabulary limited to three words.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. ever since groot was added onto the team, peter's done nothing but take groot seriously and accept him as he was. though groot portrayed a self-righteous-better-than-you attitude due to his heritage at first, peter accepted him exactly as he portrayed himself. after the injury and the regrowth, peter is gentler with him — but not babying. groot is highly respected by peter, as groot's the only reason they're all still alive today. he's currently teaching him sign language to better communicate with the team.

— mantis brandt/the celestial madonna. originally joined as the psychic counselor. she primarily stays on the knowhere base and connects to the guardians team through there. very much "the woman in the chair", though she's so much more. she quite literally keeps the team together in the early days. peter physically could not have made this team without her.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. though they dated during the early days of the gotg, they've since split to remain good friends. he values her for not only the skills she's brought to the team, but the peace of mind. he knows this goes beyond her powers. her presence alone ensures that no team member feels alone or isolated. he could never thank her enough for that.

— phyla-vell/quasar. one of the magic-heavies of the team. the new quasar was a hesitant addition of the team, but one that peter could never replicate. she keeps the team light and uplifted and humble. she provides a perspective so different than any other on the team, and peter often leaves her to be mentored by adam in particular.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. though she joined under adam's encouragement, peter bonds with her rather quickly. seeing as she (like himself) cleans to the small enjoyments in life, he enjoys her company and truly does hate that he's hurt her. however, when the team rebuilds, he does his best to not betray her trust again.

— rocket racoon. arguably the biggest brain behind the operation. rocket joined as their everything-mechanics person. he builds their explosives, keeps their weapons sharp, and keeps the milano running. when peter leaves the guardians to travel solo, rocket takes over as leader of the team.

RELATIONSHIP TO PETER. they're prone to argue quite a lot, much like brothers would. both rocket and peter are hard-headed, stubborn, cocky, and smart. that said, they have each other's backs, intensely so. peter trusts him with the guardians enough to leave them in rocket's care. furthermore, they're such close friends that peter named his child after rocket.

⁴⁻² PAST GUARDIANS: these are past members of the various guardians of the galaxy teams. though they may not have stayed forever, each of these part-time members shaped the team in their own way.

— angela. as a result of a crisis that quill had assumed would happen, angela was lost in space. after a brief disagreement, angela was found to be a much-needed ally. she briefly joined the team to fight thanos' agents and stop the mad titan before he gained too much control.

— ben grimm/the thing. ben joined the team beneath kitty pryde's leadership, while the fantastic four was on a break. shortly after peter returns to his mantle, the fantastic four are created again, and ben decides to go back to earth.

— beta ray bill. beta ray bill joined around the time the dark guardians were formed, and would then go on to join the annihilators under cosmo's leadership.

— bug. originally a part of peter's rag tag team in conquest, bug actually first joins the gotg under rocket's leadership. when the original team pieces back together, bug stays through a few crises.

— carol danvers/ms. marvel. carol has joined the guardians for a few adventures, namely in a few quests regarding angela, stopping thanos, and breaking peter out of a spartoi jail. one of my main arcs with carol is during peter's time as king. he works alongside her to aid in finding homes for all the kree refugees who suffered in the destruction of hala.

— cosmo. the best telepathic boy on knowhere's surface. he's the head of security on knowhere, and was on the celestial head long before the guardians ever came here. it was nova who found him first. since cosmo's debut with the gotg, he's sent them on various missions and kept them out of multiple cases of trouble. he's one of peter's closest allies, and knows he can always rely on that dog. cosmo will go on to build an even beefier version of the guardians known as the annihilators.

— flash thompson/agent venom. tony stark appointment flash to act as a liaison between the gotg and the avengers. agent venom mainly served under kitty pryde, but stayed when peter returned to the mantle for a few adventures.

— frank castle/the rider. not to be confused with frank castle, the punisher. this is a frank castle who became a ghost rider from another reality. he would later go on to join the dark guardians, and leave the gotg behind when peter refused to give up or attack gamora.

— heather douglas/moondragon. once returned back to life, heather joins the gotg for a bit of time alongside phyla-vell, now going by matyr. she's a valued member of the team for her knowledge and her past with a multitude of the guardians.

— jack flag. jack joined the guardians for a few adventures after he and peter quill lead a rebellion together. this was around the time rocket was leading the guardians.

— kitty pryde/shadowcat. an important part of modern gotg lore. while canon has peter and kitty as an off again/on again relationship, i prefer to address them as a brief "flirtationship" - which ended fairly shortly. however, she stayed as part of the team and a close friend of peter's. she was so trusted by him that she took over his mantle when he was called away to be the king of spartax. the mantle was eventually passed back to peter when she returned to earth to lead the x-men. this said, kitty remains a good friend of peter's to this day.

— lockjaw. a brief member, the goodest boy from attilan joined when crystal was kidnapped. he would later return to help the dark guardians and the gotg escape from a black hole.

— richard rider/nova. though he's more of an honorary member than a canon member, i felt it important to add him. he aided peter in the idea and formation of the guardians. he often comes alongside them and aids in their quests. when peter goes missing, he steps up to help find him and restore the guardians.

— scott lang/ant-man. in very true-to-scott fashion, he infiltrated the milano and asked to be a member of the gotg in order to escape blackmail back on earth. they agreed, and scott joined them in infiltrating the corrupted nova corps before returning to earth.

— tony stark/iron man. after the gotg seek the help of the avengers with the cosmic cube, tony joins the gotg for a few adventures, one of which lands him in prison on spartax. he soon decides that long trips into space aren't for him.

— vance astro/major victory. vance came along for a few adventures with the gotg during the 2008 run, and mainly operated under rocket's time as leader when the original group split.

⁴⁻³ OTHER GOTG TEAMS : these are formed by others than star-lord, himself. these have been in operation for a variety of times for a variety of reasons. though some members of the original gotg may be seen on these teams, they are entirely separate from peter quill's group.

— ANNIHILATORS. formed by cosmo to be an even more powerful version of the gotg in order to handle large cosmic threats. this team consisted of beta ray bill, norrin radd/the silver surfer, ikon, wendell vaughn/quasar, kallark/gladiator, and ronan the accuser.

— THE DARK GUARDIANS. formed by eros upon discovering that thanos was fated to return to life. the dark guardians seek to stop his resurrection. they're only able to somewhat do so with the help of the original gotg. this team consisted of eros of titan, frank castle, (later) gamora zen whoberi ben titan, kallark, nebula, and zak-del.

— THE FRESH START GUARDIANS. this team acted as a re-launch of the guardians, when marvel decided to relaunch most of their teams in 2018. this team consisted of billy kaplan, hercules, kl'rt, noh-varr, richard rider, teddy altman, victor von doom, and wendell vaughn.

⁴⁻⁴PAST TEAMS : while neither of these teams lasted for a significant period of time, i find it important to note them, as these are the only times that peter doesn't lead a gotg team.

— KITTY'S TEAM. this is a team formed during the time peter has forsaken his star-lord mantle in order to be the king of spartax. kitty, having taken up his mantle, picks up leadership of the guardians until peter is kicked out of spartax. shortly after peter returns, she leaves the team to lead the x-men. this team consisted of ben grimm, flash thompson, gamora zen whoberi ben titan, groot, kitty pryde, and rocket racoon.

— ROCKET'S TEAM. this is the team (or the remnants of the team) formed when peter's manipulation comes out. those who stay aren't a large bunch, but they continue what peter began. rocket leads this team and stays on the knowhere base, continuing on with what the guardians were supposed to be. this team was made up of bug, groot, mantis rocket racoon, and vance astro.

⁴⁻⁵ CURRENT TEAM : all but phyla-vell has returned to aid the guardians. though beings like adam warlock and mantis are considered more part-time/as needed rather than full time, the core of the group has stayed the same.

— THE CURRENT GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY : star-lord has once again taken up the mantle as the team's leader. groot, rocket racoon, gamora zen whoberi ben titan, and drax the destroyer have returned full-time. adam warlock and mantis can be considered part-time members. for the purposes of this blog, this team will be considered current unless stated otherwise.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ META, SUBJECT 002. POWERS, ABILITIES, AND ARSENAL : this meta is a look at the powers star-lord will have throughout continuity on this blog. in addition, this meta provides a brief look at peter's arsenal and various ships. rb partners are welcome to reference this meta at any time.

INTRODUCTION: this meta covers four sections of peter quill's life in regards to fluctuating powers according to canon. over the course of his life, peter has been subject to wildly varying powers depending on what stage of life he's in. afterward, i'll briefly discuss what powers apply to this blog, and then briefly look into his arsenal and ships.

PRIOR TO BECOMING STAR-LORD.

prior to becoming star-lord, peter had no discernible powers. he did, however, have half-spartoi physiology. the spartoi have extended lifespans by human standards. before becoming the star-lord, it'd be a mystery how peter aged. it's almost certain he'd live longer than a human, but likely no more than an extra 300-400 year span. as discussed in my spartax meta, the spartoi have tailored themselves and their lifestyle for maximum efficiency. because of this, spartoi also have enhanced durability and reflexes. peter has the same enhanced condition, and would have these abilities even if he never chose to become the star-lord.

another thing to note is that peter's body can regenerate itself. after losing an eye, he was able to regrow it after a century. this is another gift from his half-spartoi lineage.

UPON BECOMING STAR-LORD.

peter eventually goes to space and meets the master of the sun (tmos). tmos is the one to bestow peter with the title of "star-lord". with the title, he gives peter a set of pistols and a helmet. through his equipment, he's able to access his powers. something to understand is that during this early exploration of the sci-fi genre by comic books, the theme of "your equipment gives you powers" became radically popular. for this blog, canon is altered for peter to have these powers with or without his equipment.

flight. he describes his flight "like a hawk", which implies that peter's flying speed is fast and sudden. this is the first power he discovers and remains one of his favorites to this day.

survival in space. peter can survive in space without a helmet or any other life-sustaining gear. if he is to be the avatar of the stars, he can certainly survive out there. however, he's often seen with his visor in battle situations as extra protection and for foe analysis.

awareness of the elements. peter's awareness of the elements operates on no earthly scale. of course, he can tell how much water vapor is in the air, and other elemental things like that - but his awareness expands to a cosmic scale. his awareness goes beyond the physical, with only the earth element relating to "the physical world". he's in touch with energy, telepathic influence, and lifeforces, as stated in this issue. he's certainly no all-knowing being, however. his knowledge in regards to these things is purely on an element basis. water, fire, air, and the earth.

cosmic awareness. quill is able to navigate through any solar system, galaxy, or point of space without a map due to his bestowed knowledge of the cosmos. he's able to sense when balance shifts across the cosmos. additionally, star-lord can understand those secret hard-for-humans-to-comprehend truths about the universe.

language mastery. after becoming the star-lord, quill was gifted with the ability to understand and speak any language. though he eventually is implanted with a translation device canonically, it's somewhat unnecessary. he can understand any language spoken, read, or heard by the stars. the translation device is for any new language not comprehended by the stars yet.

technology mastery. another gift bestowed to them upon becoming the star-lord. quill has an innate and hardly understandable comprehension of all technology, alien or otherwise.

immortality. the star-lord mantle is immortal. when quill took on the role, he took on that immortality. it's both a blessing and a curse. he can choose to gift the mantle to someone else, but peter will never pass the burden onto anyone else.

relationship with the stars. peter has an intimate relationship with the stars themselves. he is their avatar and their master. he can commune with them. when mediating, they can reach an even higher form of awareness and speak to them regarding the goings on in the universe.

he forms relationships with them personally, like one would a brother or a sister. they can feel when a star is born or when one dies. there are some peter has a closer bond with (like our sun), and others he's just getting to know. the important thing is: peter respects the stars, and they trust him to keep them/the universe safe. quill has an especially intimate relationship with the living star, aurora. she's his spaceship , and fully sentient for a time. peter's able to feel whenever aurora takes hits in battle as if they're happening to him.

the cosmos have quite literally implemented itself into peter's body. when listening to his heartbeat, one might hear the space-like thrum of the cosmos within his chest. when looking into his eyes, one can see faint galaxies, reflective of wherever they are in the universe. his eye color is blue-green. white specks can be seen freckled within them. when he fails do to his job as the star-lord, his eyes are changed. see below. his pupils become off-white. his iris changes to be this mix of light blue/indigo-ish storm. his sclera become this black tone. this is supposed to be a form of punishment from the stars onto peter. when he fixes the balance in the universe, they'll go back to normal.

the stars speak to him constantly (which would be maddening if he was not who he is), whispering about the things they've seen in the universe. these are often warnings or secrets, guiding peter to places where he needs to be. quill would describe this sound as "static", and something i often write about in threads.

furthermore, he can name every single star - even those unnamed in this timeline, even those unseen; he knows them all and he sees them all. he also recalls the history of stars that have already died long before them in this timeline.

THE MASTER OF THE SUN. * this is referencing ewing's gotg run in 2021, when peter steals the gods' fire and gets trapped in morinus. during this time, he becomes tmos. along with that becomes new powers. he's also given a sun tattoo on his palm that will fade when he returns to the current dimension.

gravitational flight. this is different than peter's original flight power. as the master of the sun, peter can turn off the gravitational force of himself and those around them, allowing for flight.

light generation. when peter has had time to meditate, his body produces a glow. this isn't a cute, harmless glow, this is powerful light energy that can rip apart anyone in his radius.

telepathic resistance. peter became resistant to psionic interference. even a telepath on par with moondragon can not get through their mental defenses.

living power plant. after gaining control of some metaphysics dynamics across the universe, peter learned how to be his own power source for his weapons at the time.

heightened cosmic awareness. because peter already had a level of cosmic awareness, his knowledge of the universe was heightened. he could feel planets breathing and more in tune with the smaller things across the universe, rather than the stars, themselves.

RETURNING TO OUR DIMENSION, AND WHAT'S RELAVENT TO MAIN CONTINUITY ON THIS BLOG.

in canon, peter loses all the abilities mentioned in the above note paragraph. however, for this portrayal, they keep some of these powers as an alternate version of the original ability.

flight. peter loses the "gravitational" part of his flight, and instead returns to the regular version of flight they had before.

solar power output and detection. this takes the place of peter's former light generation and power plant abilities. peter can detect solar radiation and solar energy, this strongly applies to people like kryptonians and sun-based characters. he will be able to tell they're packing more solar energy than a normal human. furthermore, he outputs a low level of solar power radiation, being an avatar of the stars. they can act as something similar to a battery for those who draw their powers from the sun.

telepathic awareness. though peter can no longer fully resist any telepathic assault, he can tell when telepathy is being used on him or around him.

cosmic awareness. peter loses the vastness of his awareness during this time, returning to the former cosmic awareness they had before. however, they haven't lost the knowledge they obtained while using their previous cosmic awareness, so that can be used when necessary.

these powers combined with what peter recieved when first meeting tmos are what makes up this portrayal. his time as tmos has come to a pass, and they've returned to their true state as the universe's star-lord, the one who does the bidding of the stars, themselves.

i also want to note that peter's position as star-lord is something pre-ordained by fate and the cosmos . this was decided before his birth. while this isn't necessarily a "superpower" of his, it's important to note that the cosmos/stars will go out of their way to protect their star-lord when he's particularly vulnerable.

ABILITIES.

marksmanship. through peter's almost 200 years of life, he's become well-acquainted with many types of firearms across the galaxies. it's likely that if he finds a weapon, he can use it immediately.

martial artist. peter's been trained in many version of hand-to-hand combat and martial art styles. both drax and gamora keep these skills sharp while on the milano.

strategy. seen in annihilation and conquest, peter has an incredible eye for battle strategy and problem solving. this is also seen when he takes up the mantle of the king of spartax after a massive political rift.

astronomy knowledge. this comes from his time studying at nasa. in order to become an astronaut, nasa requires a stem master's degree. peter's is in astronomy.

universal knowledge. throughout peter's journey across the stars, they've witnessed a multitude of alien cultures and history. they're able to recall this knowledge with ease and use on a day-to-day basis.

pilot. this is another ability from their time before being the star-lord. being an astronaut, nasa encourages their potential candidates to have a pilot's license, which they earned. from there on, peter taught himself to fly a variety of spaceships.

ARSENAL.

translator implant. this is a cybernetic implant on their neck that allows them to understand any and all languages known to the galaxy, spoken or signed. as i stated before, this is a redundant addition to his arsenal, but they keep it on them, just in case there's a language the stars are unaware of.

space helmet. this helmet has gone through some aesthetic changes throughout the years, all done by rocket. it began as a part of his equipment from tmos, but was then altered to fit a more modern appearance. while this is on, he can see information regarding lifeforms and materials around him. he can also remotely pilot the milano while it's on. it "clicks off" - pulls away from his face and folds in on itself like a necklace - with a push of a button hooked behind his ear.

jet boots. these are worn to help control their flight, or if they need an extra boost, have their powers taken away, and so on. these are worn as a big "what if" and caution. these are also used for quick dodges and movements that don't require full flight.

the milano. a ravager ship taken off the hands of yondu, himself. the relationship between yondu and this portrayal is minimal at best . yondu never raised him, nothing of the sort. instead, yondu was a part of the band sent out to kill their mother. yondu only remains alive because peter would find more inconveniences if he was dead. that said, peter stole this ship from yondu and repurposed it into the milano. it has a full-sized cockpit for all the members + guests to sit on. there's a living area, bunkers for each of the guardians + guests, a kitchen area, a bathroom, a server room, a comms room, a cargo bay, and a training area. it's fully weaponized with rocket's upgrades and can survive many attacks.

aurora/ship. peter's beloved ship, their first ever vessel. aurora is a living star that bends to peter's will. because of this, she molded him a ship and lived with him in the vessel as a companion for many years. ship changes at his will, expanding or shrinking depending on their company. it's powered by aurora, herself. this living star served peter well for many years, and even helped him take on one of galactus' heralds and saved the planet. in doing so, aurora sacrificed her consciousness. now, ship is still a living star catered to peter, but she's lost her sentience. aurora will never be recovered, though ship lives on. he travels in this vessel when taking a break from the guardians. rocket and groot keep the milano.

CONCLUSION: peter's had a wide range of abilities in comics, and this portrayal attempts to narrow them down and make sense of what they've been given in how i choose to write star-lord. a hefty majority of this headcanon is deeply rooted in that early exploration of sci-fi that marvel began with star-lord's character and i aim to carry on that exploration through threads and further development. i know this is far different than the mcu and what modern comics have turned peter into, but i think i've always been clear on where i've stood regarding basing myself in older comics and really tailoring to that larger-than-life cosmic entity star-lord began as.

NEXUS : nexus is a flerken, originally picked up by peter on a dying planet, one that had been abandoned by most inhabitants. knowing that adam warlock was a fan of flerkens, when peter brought him back to the ship, he had every intention of keeping the little guy on board. however, in an effort to play with his teammates and teach them some furry friend responsibility, he told them that they'd only keep the flerken until the next shelter could be reached. of course, when they landed and dreading a heartfelt goodbye, peter revealed that the flerken was actually going to stay on board with the gotg wherever they go. adam gave him the name "nexus" and the newest gotg member was solidified.

now, nexus is adam's flerken. he's taken care of on the milano, on ship, or at the gotg base. rp partners are more than welcome to include nexus spotting when at either of these three locations.

THE ELEMENT GUNS : peter's most trusted weapons. this is a a brief assessment of what the element guns do, what they control, and how they work. rp partners are welcome to reference this as needed. this is a repost from my former blog, with minor changes from time naturally developing personal headcanons.

INTRODUCTION. this blog's portrayal of the element guns are highly cherry-picked from a variety of canon. original influences from 70's canon (known as earth-791) weaved its way into current canon naturally. to understand their function, we'll look at old canon, how that's been applied to current canon, then what applies to this blog's canon. furthermore, this meta discusses their design and function.

THE HISTORY OF THE ELEMENT GUNS. before they were ever labeled j'son's guns or a weapon of spartax, they were first weapons crafted by the master of the sun (tmos). in this very early era, there's really no big "lore" to them. it's implied that tmos designed the gun (singular gun at the time) out of his own design to add to star-lord's arsenal. along with this, he also crafted the rest of peter's suit, which included a helmet that gave him the ability to fly and breathe in space. there is another meta diving into peter's powers on my blog.

during this era in comics, the concept of "my accessories give me power!" became wildly popular. thus star-lord was no exception. the element guns are highly indicative of that at the time.

at the time, the gun is described to only be limited by peter's own will. with the power of fire, water, air, and earth, the main four elements are under his control. tmos makes it clear that the weapon is invincible.

its appearance at this time is right in theme with the time. it's sci-fi heavy and leans into that corny visual we all think of when we imagine "space pistol". as i mentioned before, there was no second gun at this time. that would come later.

WEAPONS OF J'SON OF SPARTAX. later on, when peter's original story (earth-791) is retconned in the early 10's, the element guns (now twin pistols) are now a weapon of j'son of spartax. the overall retcon included meredith keeping her memories of j'son with the hope that he would return from spartax. along with this, he leaves behind his guns. sometimes for protection, sometimes to remember him by, and sometimes to give to peter as a gift — canon varies on that.

from then on, meredith keeps these tucked away with the intent to give to peter when he's old enough. on the day of her death, peter is able to find these guns and defend himself from the assassins who've come to murder his mother. he's not successful in saving meredith, but the spartoi dna within him activates the guns, and he's able to fend off the assassins for long enough to escape.

he keeps these throughout his teenage years and ultimately takes them to the stars. these twin pistols have become almost as recognizable to the star-lord brand as the helmet, itself.

the earth-791 powers of the four elements are weaved directly into current canon. now, the guns have evolved beyond their basic capabilities (shooting water, fire, earth, and air at their most basic forms). it's because j'son had the guns crafted with his own dna that the guns are able to function, and thus wield the elements. this change to canon heavily updates how spartax is seen and treated within the confines of canon. with this update, we can grasp how technologically crafted the spartoi truly are. from then on, spartax is treated as a technological powerhouse.

this switch to dna compatibility also deeply changed the importance of j'son in peter's life, for obvious reasons. it forces peter to accept his bloodline, whether he likes it or not.

as far as their appearance goes, canon has mainly stuck with a twin space pistol look. they've always leaned into a sleek, but modern (for the time) sci-fi design. the colors change around from black, to grey, to a mix which is seen in the gotg (2021) game.

THE ELEMENT GUNS IN REGARDS TO THIS BLOG. no one here should be a stranger to me saying that i cherry-pick across many canons to ultimately build my unique portrayal, though i often heavily lean into 70's canon. the element guns are no different. as peter's most valued weapon, i aim to stay true to the original intent of giving him these weapons, while not neglecting the matter of family.

peter did not grow up with these guns, however, j'son still told meredith his true nature, which allowed peter to grow up with the belief (or skepticism) that his father might be alien. j'son did not leave his guns behind — meredith, very familiar with farm life, already had a rifle of her own which suited her just fine. and thus, peter had no way of defending himself when meredith was killed. instead, peter arrived just moments too late when the badoon were already leaving.

this left peter with a massive list of questions in regards to where he came from, which he assumed would never be answered — until he went to space and met tmos for the first time. it's here that tmos gives him the element guns. knowing the path peter needed to walk in order to focus on being the star-lord, tmos reached through time and space, and produced the element guns for him from spartax directly. the guns bore the spartoi emblem, which allowed peter to find a new lead on his potential heritage.

from then on, the story continues fairly normally as my canon goes. peter seeks his vengeance, and uses these guns to discover his true ties to spartax and its king.

in regards to appearance: i take heavy inspiration from the gotg 2021 game. their design is smooth and transforms in his hands depending on which element he's using at the time.

FORMS AND KNOWN ABILITIES:

MELEE FORM: this form appears when peter is in hand-to-hand combat. despite the way they seem "backwards", the barrel provides an impact surface and a stronger hit to his target. this design prevents his knuckles from coming into any hazardous objects, and helps his hand and wrist not break on impact.

FIRE FORM: dragon-like in its appearance, this gun is capable of withstanding and producing insanely high amounts of heat and flame. though tested, this gun can not extend hotter than a yellow-white flame.

known abilities: this form is capable of producing and controlling a high amount of flame and heat. the flame can grow in intensity and shape to whatever peter desires. the fires created burn only what peter so desires, and can be controlled via the water element, should it go out of control.

WIND FORM: this form can control wind at its most basic form (creating and manipulating gusts) and can alter the oxygen within the air. furthermore, it can withstand and create tornado level pressure and gusts.

known abilities: these guns can create any sort of atmospheric disturbances. by combining the elements, peter can also do things with this form like creating dust storms, typhoons, firestorms, and so on. its through this form that he's able to create and manipulate lightning as well. he can create a forcefield with these guns by tightly compacting the area around himself and others. additionally, he can use this form to create a field of breathable, fresh air for those in need.

EARTH FORM: in this form, peter can control a vast majority of minerals that make up the solid foundation of many planets. this does include metallic materials, but only to a small degree as compared to the potential mountains peter could move otherwise.

known abilities: this form can control, manipulate, and produce things like iron, limestone, shale, granite, and so on. anything naturally occurring on earth or spartax, it can be lifted and manipulated by this form. the full capabilities of this form isn't quite known yet, as he hasn't needed to test it against massive formations yet.

WATER FORM: the first form peter actually ever experienced or used. the water form has a variety of uses and applications, ranging from powerful waves to providing drinking water. these can also create and manipulate both ice and steam.

known abilities: this form is capable of drawing water from the ground, ocean, and even out of blood in order for it to flow as he desires. the exact volume these can create are unknown, but it's assumed by j'son to be an incredibly high quantity. water can be both salty of fresh, depending on which peter calls for. although this water can be expelled at a devastating rate, it can also be used in a much more gentler fashion.

ORIGINAL FORM: as seen above. when in a state of rest (or without a specific intention), the element guns shoot high energy bullets. on their own, they're capable of getting through a majority of alien armor and body matter. this is what star-lord uses most often in common battles, as he tries to keep the full capabilities of his weapons under wraps and close to the chest.

CONCLUSION. in short, the guns have gone through quite a bit of development over the years, but their basis stays the same: wo pistols with the ability to control and manipulate the most common elements. these are peter's most trusted weapons that he won't be seen without.
