What do you like most about your learning?

For me, I like seeing the progress I’ve made in understanding assignment specifications throughout the course. Because there is so much detail and information to digest in the project guidelines, I had trouble navigating it at first. But as the semester went along, I learned how ti manage that aspect better.

I completely agree with your statement about seeing your progress. Although some assignments can be easier than others, those more challenging ones feel great when you complete and see where you started versus where you ended .

Where will you adjust your essay to strengthen your point?

I was a little confused at the assignment details at first, but the weekly overview video helped clarify significantly what examples we’re supposed to use to validate our answers. To adjust my essay further, I will focus on the context provided of this being an interview-like situation. I will write professionally and concisely, but I will also experiment with a conversational style to match the provided context.

I love the idea of treating it like an interview! I did not think of it like this however, I feel like that also makes it easier to write because it won't feel like you are writing an essay straight through. In addition, it helps you with the language you use.

My Learning

What I like most about my learning is that it is easy for me to apply what I do learn, to my everyday life. Although some things push me and challenge me in some areas, in the long run, I see that it helps improve my way of thinking and the way I complete tasks. In relation to web writing learning, with so much of todays world on social media, learning about how people create content is so beneficial as a communications major.

Strengthen

In my essay, I will strengthen my point by using clear language and words that are strong but not confusing. I do not want to use too many words however, I also do not want to fall short on the amount of words I use to get my point across. Since we are writing about the concepts we have learned and much more, it is important to revise each part so that you are not repeating yourself over and over again.

About my Essay

The thing that I like most about my essay is that I was able to have freedom on what I wrote about and how I write it. I enjoy talking about what I learn and application to what I learn, knowing that it will benefit me as time goes on. In addition, my essay is in sections which makes it easier to read, especially with there being a lot of information within it. Although it does not have color or different design elements, the sections do make it look a little more pleasing to the eye because each section is bolded.

Understanding Angry Fans

One of my favorite television shows of all time is Parks and Recreation. I absolutely love that show, and (given I was watching it as it aired, which I did not), I would have been incredibly upset had the characters not gotten the proper ending they deserved. I think that the series was very good throughout, and I am grateful that it was able to continue the story until the end. I completely understand how a group of fans can be angered over the cancellation of their favorite show, especially if the show did not even get the chance to reach its full potential, which usually does not happen within the first season or first few pilot episodes. Oftentimes, shows are canceled before the storyline can even be established, which promotes shows that have action from the very start. However, most great stories do not start with action, and deserve the chance to have that slow build up in order to create drama and even more background.

I completely agree with your statement about a show getting cancelled before it reaches true potential and action. It can be so frustrating when you give a new show a chance and then it gets cancelled when you finally see a storyline starting to unfold.

Within my design project, I included information on how to craft a good response to an angry fan comment. I chose 4 words that could be the criteria for creating a good response. Are they clear and are the descriptions of them easy to understand?

I do like these four words and I love the design you chose! The only thing I would say is maybe put Be Active instead of just Active because when I first read the words, I was unsure about the meaning until I read the description below it.

Above is the first page to my Design Project Part 2. Inversely to my previous post, I was wondering if this page has too much blank space. I feel mostly comfortable with the page's overall layout, but someone else may see a way to make the page more engaging.

The only thing I would suggest changing is the size of the image and the text. Maybe move the image up and make the "Understanding the Audience" text a little bigger across the bottom. Other than that, I think it looks great!

A section of my Design Project I’d like to share is my response as the executives of the series. I’d like to know if anyone thinks this has been answered in a professional manner? I noticed that there were a few that were the same and figured I’d use what I usually see on social media between angry fans and executives of a show. Favorite Show

One of my favorite shows is Outerbanks. Although they are still filming and coming out with a new season, I do know that a lot of people would be upset if they decided to cancel it. As a fan, I am always seeing videos and posts about when the next season will be out and I see the excitement and impatience that everyone has for it to come out. This show has helped me understand how angry fans is completely understandable when you wait so long for something new.

My Experience

An example of when I experienced being upset as a fan is when ICarly was canceled. Since this show was a big part of my childhood, I remember being sad as a kid to find out they stopped shooting. This show was full of entertainment and humor, so when it was over, it made me want to rewatch the same episodes which got boring eventually.

Nearing the End

As we end the near of the semester, I do plan on using a lot of what I have learned in this class for future careers and assignments. I will be creating content for a non profit organization this Summer, which is where I may have a few questions. How do you think creating web writing for a non profit is different than creating content for a school setting? Do you think that some areas of communication benefit from web writing more than others?

This camera is well designed not only because you can take it anywhere, but also because it has the ability to print pictures on the spot instead of having to take them somewhere for development.

A good rule of thumb for creating short tumblr posts that hook audiences right away is to include a visual element. Generally, audiences aren't as receptive to just reading a plain paragraph of text, but if you add an image or video, their eyes can latch onto that and it can quickly pique their interest. They will then be all the more receptive to reading the paragraph of text that you wrote to go with this image.

I agree, at least personally, I am more likely to read something if there is color or some type of visual element to go along with the text so that it does not feel like I am just reading a book.
