"Oh, hey. Yeah, I'm totally okay. Not a scratch on me." She said with a smile, though she appreciated the concern she could see on the other woman's face and in her voice. "I'm here for one of my team. A new guy decided to try and show off and ended up here. Going to have to have quite the discussion with him once he's cleared."
elena smiled and let out a sigh when the captian said she was okay. "oh wow, well i hope he's doing okay. i can check on his status if you like?" elena questioned, scrolling through her tablet.
Fucking Callie, making her cry in the middle of a shift. Sucking up her tears, Arizona sighs softly, features softening. "I'm not, not really. I'm sure I will be though." Taking the coffee, Arizona nods, "a latte wouldn't suck."
elena smiled and handed over the latte, nodding her head. "sometimes a little coffee makes things better." the brunette said leaning against the wall and taking a sip of her own latte. "if you want to talk, i'm always here you know. not prying or anything, just want you to know you'll have someone who will listen."
Mark glanced at the person sitting next to him and then glanced down the hallway at the group of interns that looked more lost than he thought should actually be possible. They'd been at the hospital for the last month and somehow still didn't know how to get from one section of the hospital to another, even with the signs and symbols meant to lead patients and families in the right direction. "Sometimes it's hard to understand and remember how hopeless interns are. And then the new group comes in and I'm reminded all over again."
"they aren't all hopeless." elena reminded her brother and laughed a little bit. maybe he was right and most of them were, but some of them really had potential and elena could see it. "we all we're in their shoes once upon a time. don't be so hard on them at first, give them a chance to prove themselves and then be hard on them."
"I may have accidentally caused a couple to get a divorce today, and I don't know if I should feel guilty or be amused that the dude was so stupid he came to the same shop to buy the exact same outfit for both his wife and his girlfriend." And people said working retail was boring.
elena couldn't help but laugh and shake her head. "honestly sounds like something my father probably would've done. men aren't the smartest." she shrugged her shoulders and chuckled. "well, it wasn't your fault. it was his and at least you can tell yourself that the breakup was coming eventually, one of them would've found out sooner or later."
Andy was seated in the hospital waiting room, tapping her fingers lightly against her leg. One of her rookies had done something stupid on a call that day and had ended up with a bit of a nasty injury to his leg thanks to a beam that wasn't structurally sound. He was still being tended to and as the Captain, Andy had decided to stick around until there was a clear idea of what was going on. People had been walking by her non-stop the past hour or so and so when someone stepped up to her, she was almost surprised. "Oh, hey."
Elena saw Andy sitting in the waiting room, as she scaned the ER seeing how many potential patients they had waiting. "Hey, what are you doing here? Are you okay?" The brunette scanned the captain from head to toe, not seeing any visible injuries on her which she was relived.

elena penelope sloan was born in new york city on march 4th to people who really werenāt ever meant to be parents. her father had an affair with her mother which ended up ruining his marriage, which didnāt bode well for either of them. her mother was cold and callous while the young girl was growing up and was never really much of a mother figure. her father really wanted nothing to do with having another child, but tried what wasĀ hisĀ best at being a father. living with her parents got worse as she got older and she moved out as soon as she could. when she was a teenager, elena knew that she really wasn't wanted at home so she spent most nights at her girlfriend's kateās house.Ā
senior year of high school elena and her girlfriend kate got hit by a drunk driver. elena ended up with a broken leg and arm, but kate wasnāt so lucky. by the time the firefighters and paramedics had gotten her out of the car and to the hospital they found a bleed in her brain. they rushed her into surgery, but in the end the bleed was too much and she ended up stroking out on the table. between the car accident, losing the one person who cared about her elena had a hard time finishing her senior year. she had nightmares reliving the crash, extreme anxiety while trying to get in the car and drive to school or anywhere. she started seeing a therapist who helped her get through everyday and learn that what she was feeling was normal.Ā moving out of new york was one of the hardest things elena did since it was the last reminder she had of kate, but she couldnāt stay close to her parents. she packed her bags and moved to boston. college came and went without any difficulties except dealing with trying to keep her head on straight and push through all the nightmares. once she graduated from boston university, elena got accepted to harvard medical school and couldnāt wait to pursue her career in medicine even further. after graduating from medical school, elena accepted a residency position at new york presbyterian hospital. it was far enough away from her parents house and she was back in her home state where she loved being.
during her second year of residency is when she met her future husband lucas james. things slowly blossomed between the two of them over the course of a few months and then they got engaged.Ā six months later they had a small wedding with his family and a few friends. elena didnāt invite her parents because she knew they wouldnāt approve. the brunette was finally happy and everything seemed to be going smoothly. her last year of residency she was elected chief resident which was a big success for her. Her transition from chief resident to becoming an attending trauma surgeon went smoothly as she was offered a position in the trauma department for her fellowship. a few months later, elena found out she was pregnant with twins, they couldn't have been more overjoyed.
after elena's father passed away and she was cleaning out his atttic, elena found out she had a half brother. she was very upset that nobody had informed her of this earlier in her life and sought out where her brother lived. after meeting mark, they were both shocked about the fact they had never bumped into each other but slowly started a brother/sister relationship. a few years after elena and mark met, elena and lucas ended up getting divorced. elena ended up getting a job offer from the chief of surgery at seattle grace and it was too good to pass up, so she packed up the twins and all her things and moved to seattle years ago. now, she and the twins call seattle home and she couldn't be happier.Ā
Tearing up? Her? Absolutely not, okay -- maybe. It'd been her thing for years, it wasn't going to change now, but she shook her head anyway at the quizzical gaze of the other, "no, don't start. I'm not crying, not even a little bit. There's something in my eye. ." a beat passes and then a huff, "shut up."
"I was just going to make sure you were okay but if you insist." elena said looking at the blonde and then shrugged her shoulders, holding out the extra coffee that was in her hand. "can i at least offer you this extra latte?"
