Eram sentimentos revoltos, mas o alívio e a saudades eram maiores, impulsionando Pat a avançar, buscando reconhecer a face tão mudada. "Mark. Mark, é você?" Um riso nasalado escapou, apontando para a própria face. "Já se esqueceu de mim? Sou eu, Patrick, em carne e osso!"
“Okay, hear me out,” Hale requests, staring at Mark from across the room. He’s not a bad person; he’s not a good person, but he’s not terrible like Ezra or his weird best friend who loves knives. The man has a heart, and she’s going to try appealing to it. “What if you taught my snake some cool tricks? All Snilliam Snakespeare currently does is... curl around arms. And don’t get me wrong, I love his passion for it! Very neat guy! Very cool dude! I just think he has more potential than this, Mark. You want your snakes to live up to their full potential, don’t you? So you can see why I want Snilliam to do better.”
“You know, when you show up at the same bars as me, it makes me want to suffocate you with the peanuts they leave in those little bowls,” she says, not bothering to look up from her phone. Twitter memes are more important than Mark. She doesn’t hate him, she just doesn’t enjoy the religious bullshit. “Buy me a drink and I might let you sit next to me.” If he says no, she can easily persuade him to change his mind. “Did you know they’re making a Mario movie? Like Sonic wasn’t bad enough.”
because this is fun! here's our favorite awkward bean:
“You can’t stop me, either. And if you try, I’ll just take you down, too. It’s not like I have a conscience to hold me back.”
“I don’t want to be friends with him. I don’t have friends.”
“I don’t care if I offend people.”
“Yeah. We adore Nyks. And besides that, I tolerate you.”
“You want me to come to your house so you can take care of me while I’m sick?”
"I forgive you. Forgive me, too."
"I think all this constant scheming to make my life better is giving me a headache."
"I don't like you right now. You were trying to make me sociable."
"So R and I are friends?"
“Sounds like an internal emotional issue, buddy,” Mark said with a sigh.
“You’re sure you didn’t hit your head? You’re being so docile.”
"I don't think I can ignore you becoming one with the couch."
“It bothered you that I pretended you didn’t exist. Those were real feelings. It bothers me now when you flirt with me. Those are real feelings.”
"I need a nap."

Cristina braved the vending machine for a snack, something she normally would make an intern do for her, but she was bored and figured why not. “These things are useless,” she muttered as she banged on the glass to move the protein bar that was stuck. “Hey Sloan,” she yelled out when she saw him pass by. “Get me this protein bar.”
it’s hot in here. it doesn’t help that harlow is leaning all of her weight against me; she’s way too far gone now. after letting out her tearful declaration of love for all of us, she’s lightly snoring and i’m pretty sure she’s drooling on my shoulder. i love her, but i kind of hate her. but, i do love her enough to let her keep doing it.
nisha disappeared a few minutes ago, leaving me with just mouse. it feels kind of weird to call another human being mouse, i think. “do you not like the name mollie?” i finally pluck up the courage to ask her. if anything, i kind of just want to get her talking. she’s so quiet.
“huh?” she looks taken aback by the question, and i laugh. she kind of is like a little mouse. it takes her a second to process my question. “oh. uh... my best friend chloe calls me mouse. she started when we were little kids because she thought i looked like a mouse and i guess it kind of stuck,” she shrugs.
“you do look like a mouse,” i grin. “but it’s cute.” when i look at her, i understand what nisha sees in her. she’s so soft, like nothing in the world has ever hurt her. i don’t know if i’ve ever met anyone as full of love as her. “can i call you mollie?”
she seems surprised, but she offers me a brighter smile than i expect to see from her. “yeah. it’s kind of nice to actually hear my name every now and then,” she laughs, and it’s hard not to smile when she laughs.
i think i’m falling in friend love. “you know nisha really likes you, right?” i love nisha more than anyone in my life. she’s the only person who has stood by me through... everything. through transitioning, through the bullying. through the darkest time of my life. “i don’t know how you feel about her, but... be careful with her, okay? she doesn’t always act like it, but she feels everything really, really hard. just don’t hurt her, okay?”
mollie’s quiet for a moment. she doesn’t meet my gaze, and i don’t blame her. i’m kind of staring her down. but she finally looks up at me, wearing the ghost of a smile. “hurting nisha is the last thing i want to do.”
