when she was just a girl she expected the world but it FLEW away from her reach and the bullets catch in her teeth life goes on, it gets so h e a v y the wheel breaks the BUTTERFLY every tear a waterfall in the night the stormy night she'll close her eyes in the night the stormy night away she'd fly
It had been a long day for Elena. Not only was she beginning to get paranoid that her family had sent someone after her, but the guilt of lying to Tony had been eating away at her. While Elena typically didn’t spend her nights letting loose and throwing back shots, she’d been so plagued by her own thoughts lately that the best option seemed to be tequila. Her hair had been taken out of its usual ponytail, letting her blonde locks bounce around her shoulders as she leaned forward to order another round of shots. Turning to the person next to her with a grin, Elena cocked her head slightly, eyes shining. “How do you feel about tequila?”
He’d just finished up on stage, and beads of sweat were dripping down his back. There was always something about dancing in front of a crowd of people that gave Isaac a rush. He grabbed a towel from the side of the stage, drying himself off as he headed towards the bar. Spotting someone waiting for the bartender, he gave them a charming smile and sat down next to them. “Good evening, hermosa,” he said, hanging the towel over his shoulder. Soon enough, Ayanna or Lena would come over and yell at him to put a shirt on. He had to show off his assets while he could. “Can I buy you a drink? Or do you want to buy me a drink? The choice is yours.”
Elena wasn’t the type to be impressed. Going to the club had been an impulsive decision, and clearly she had no idea what she’d gotten herself into. While she could certainly appreciate the commitment the dancers put into their work, it was all still a bit new to her. She’d chosen to come alone, which in hindsight was a good idea, since the urge to flee was about as strong as her desire for a drink. She’d been patiently sitting at the bar, trying to get the attention of the bartender, when a voice caught her attention and she looked up. Of course he was shirtless. Quirking a brow, Elena tried to bite back the smile that graced her complexion. “I didn't realize performing without a shirt was part of your routine." She quipped lightly, tucking a strand of stray hair behind her ear as she took a second to contemplate turning down his offer to buy her a drink. Instead of going with her initial reaction to his presence and turning him down, she let her shoulders relax slightly as she nodded. "I'd be delighted if you bought me a drink."
maribel had been in amiens a while but she didn’t know the men who died. being the family of royalty, you knew who the fishy people were. she knew about the mafia and the bardets but it wasn’t her concern; having fun was. unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be any of that going on.
her foot tapped the leg of the table she sat at as she took a large sip from her iced matcha latte, contemplating a response to the dirty message on the laptop screen in front of her. when she wasn’t onscreen and was bored, a little dirty back and forth with a stranger for some extra cash was always fun. they just happened to be very boring today. head turning to the table next to her, she waved the attention of the person sitting there. “wanna help me out with something a little… weird? you need to be open minded and… not a prude.”

With the excitement of moving into her own place finally dying down, Elena was able to finally focus on the more pressing matters in her life. Such as being employed to hack without the constant fear of getting caught. She’d taken all precautions to make her own personal computer hacker proof--she didn’t doubt that her parents were either looking for her themselves, or hiring someone to do their dirty work for them. Either way, Elena had no intention of getting caught.
The cafe was surprisingly quaint, much to Elena’s pleasure, and the calm atmosphere made it easy to get some work done on her laptop as she sipped her latte. It wasn’t mafia related work, of course, just some simple coding she’d never finished on her own time. Biting the inside of her lip as she stared at the screen, the female turned her head with a raised brow as her attention was caught from another woman. “Lucky for you, I’m not a prude. I also happen to be fairly open minded.” She smiled, closing her laptop and shifting so she was facing the other girl properly. “What d’ya need help with?”
( giorgia whigham, 23, cis female, she/her )speaking of the bardet crime family, there goes ELENA ACKER. i’ve heard that the PANSEXUAL VIRGO works underground as a HACKER, but that’s all stuff of rumors. however, the fact that they’re notoriously + KIND and + A QUICK STUDY as well as - NAIVE and - STUBBORN doesn’t bode well for their rep. cherry lip gloss, the same pair of 5 year old scuffed sneakers & hair thrown into a haphazard ponytail . Hi, hello!! This is my baby, Elena. If you’re interested in plotting, pretty please smash the like button and I’ll hit you up!
Elena was adopted into the Acker family when she was 6 months old--preventing her from having any real memory of being in the foster care system. Her adoptive parents (who she considers more important than her real family), Lyla and Oliver, were unable to have a child of their own, so they’d been beyond thrilled when they brought Elena to their home in Brooklyn, New York (where she was raised).
She harbors a lot of hidden anger for her real mother. While she hasn’t made any effort to reach out, she’s incredibly curious and furious towards the woman who birthed her, then abandoned her. She’s toyed with the thought of contacting her, but that thought always remained untouched, as the pain she feels for her mom has never diminished in the slightest. Her parents could tell she had some harboured emotions that she wasn’t dealing with, but after she declined the third offer of therapy they backed off.
While Elena was the first child adopted into that family, she wasn’t the last. She has two siblings, one older and one younger, making her the middle child. (so yeah she has big middle child energy) Another thing to note about the folks who adopted her: they were both heavily involved in the Jewish mob.
More on Elena’s family: her older brother has always been on the rougher side, having spent more time in the foster care than she had. The two of them certainly had a tarnished relationship, moreso than her and her younger sister, who Elena felt protective over.
One of Elena’s defining characteristics is her kindness. While it doesn’t distract from her work, she somehow manages to be a part of the mafia while being kind. Not soft, but kind. She’s seen how bitterness doesn’t get you anywhere, so she makes a point to only be rude when it’s absolutely called for.
She’s very tech savvy. Ever since she was gifted her first computer at age twelve, she knew her calling had something to do with computers.
Having lived with her parents for all of her life, it wasn’t until recently that Elena had any problems with her family. Elena had always been unproblematic, leaving her parents with more time to deal with the consequences of her brother’s actions. It wasn’t until she got caught hacking into the Jewish mob’s database that they realized how she was just as much trouble as her brother. Before she could get punished for her actions in a more permanent way, she ran away from home and cut her parents off. As soon as she was safely distanced from her parents and their mob, she reached out to her favorite cousin, Tony, and asked for help.
Tony set her up in Amiens, and she’s been here for a few months. Almost immediately upon her arrival, she was roped into working as a hacker for the mafia.
