Where are the great Men? Malcolm X, MLK Jr, and Jesus Christ. What do these men have in common? They were great leaders, the authorities hated them, they died prematurely. What does this tell US? To be great one must be a martyr? To stand up and be great is to be in danger?

The powers that be, hate when we interrupt there flow of things and over look there petty laws. When we don't do things how they tell us to do it or if we don't fit in there societies we are killed or enslaved in prison.

Not long ago there was an African American man murdered in Mississippi for having consensual sex with a Caucasian lady. Today we frown on that unethical incident. it's difficult to fathom how a man could lose his life in such a senseless way. Unfortunately that was the norm in those atrocious times. Who is to say 20,30 or 40 years from now, people won't look back and see all the people who lost there lives, families, and sanity to the Department of Justice for possessing or selling Marijuana which is now legal in many states. Many people are in prison for possessing a substance that pharmacies sell everyday. Why are they illegal? Because they take human lives? It cannot be, alcohol and tobacco are legal and there consumption causes way more fatalities when illegal substances.

Nancy and Ronald Reagan waged a "war on drugs". By criminalizing many controlled substances, but when I see so many people in captivity, children growing up without parents due to incarceration, and the broken families. I can't help to think the Reagans started "War on Americans". If it was truly a war on drugs why not pay attention to the fact that when Marijuana became legalized the Mexican Cartels couldn't sell any Marijuana which was a lucrative business for them, so what did they do? They maximized there illegal substance operations and quit the Marijuana trade. Wouldn't the same happen if we did away with the "Illegal Controlled Substance Act" all together?

Land of the free! With the highest prison population what an oxymoron. Private prison companies grow rich off of our incarceration. Did you know the companies who invested in the Rap Group N.W.A.'s Records Label also owned prisons? All of a sudden these companies were interested in Gangster Rap. Why? They knew there music would leave a criminalistics impression on young minds, influencing the youth to imitate the lyrics. It was inevitable for the generations to come and fill up the prisons so these people could benefit double off the calamity.

As soon as President Trump was elected, Private Prisons, Company Stocks soared! Banking off imprisoned immigrants, children, men and women. Its all for profit gambling on our lives like a game. Unfortunately for us its reality.

This year when Congress passed the "First Step Act" which would let federal inmates gain more good time credits through programming. I heard a Republican conservative argue that this Law would release dangerous and violent criminals. I was baffled by his ignorance of American history. Did he not know of a great American man, Mr. Colt, who patented the Colt Revolver handgun? Mr. Colt sold recreational drugs all across America so he could fund the mass manufacturing of his pistol to the U.S. Government who at the time was at war with Mexico and the Comanche Indians over the possession of Texas. It was said without this new technology of Mr. Colts repeater pistol the U.S. would of most likely never won that war.

So Ironically Texas was acquired to the U.S. through drug sales. In Texas many people including me have hypocritically been arrested for possessing a controlled substance.

Mr. Colt is celebrated as a great inventor and business man in American history. Not a "violent criminal". Many Americans today possess the same entrepreneurial spirit as Mr. Colt. However, we are portrayed as a second class citizens, scum of society, convicted felons stripped of our rights maybe our crime is simply being born in the wrong era. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and many more where not at all timid. As Clint Eastwood said "this is the Pussy Generation". I couldn't agree more where people are easily oppressed, defeated, and offended. My pioneer spirit is over shadowed by the burden of ridiculous laws. "Where Are The Great Men?" They are dead and in here with me.

Slavery was never abolished, they changed the name of The Department of Justice. Over 2 million men and women incarcerated nation wide.

This week I would like to write on the subject of being A “Player”. I grew up in a society where it was honorable to have multiple women. I have even heard men brag about there collection of “baby mamas” they possess. Sadly we got it all wrong.

I have had many lovers and I regret that I have caused so much pain through my promiscuity. In the glorious days of youthful vigor it is difficult to decipher your erroneous mistakes. The truth is quality trumps quantity. A mans nature is never satisfied with what he has, no matter how great it is. The conqueror in us desires more. However a strong man masters his desires. My grandfather once told me this pertaining to my infidelity “why go for hamburgers when you got steak at home?” At the time the words went over my head, but they are forever in my heart.

My father was a selfish player and that is probably the reason he is and always has been estranged to me. A mans number one commitment should be to his children and to keep his family together. I never had children because i never intended on marrying the women i laid with. I remained responsible in not planting a seed with just anyone, because I do not want my child to have to endure the things i did.

Never the less I am far from the perfect. In my immature mind I thought I had to tell women what they wanted to hear so they could physically be with me. My experiences have shown me this is not true. Save the lies, the heartbreak, the sneaking around, deleting messages and just try being honest with her. I know right? Aint no way! Trust me though it works. She will appreciate, respect, and admire you more because the majority of men are “running game”, AKA -lying. Your honesty will be a breath of fresh air to her.

A relationship built on lies will perish. Be real, be genuine, “keep it trill” for real and watch how you stand out. A man among-st little boys.

Of course being honest will mostly work with new relationships deciding to be honest in an existing relationship that you have been dishonest in could back fire, so you have to make a decision. If you love her, really love her; then man up and be the man that she deserves. Just dragging her along will tire her out, eventually until the day she leaves or worse she starts playing the same game you have been playing. If you love her but you are not ready to stop being a player, love her enough to let her go, put her out of the misery. The longer you hold on, the deeper the wound. Once you lose her trust, your loving relationship will never be the same, If you want a healthy relationship never hurt her or be unfaithful. The marks of infidelity imbibe themselves deep and will always be an unpleasant reminder in your relationship of your transgressions.

My advice to all the “players”, that life is overrated too build a castle you need one solid foundation,a bunch of shaky cement blocks will not hold. Being a player destroys the family unit, which is part of Satan plot. To steal, kill, and destroy.” “We are more then conquerors, we are the head and not the tail.”

Remember the empty feeling you have after you lay with a stranger. Now remember the warmth and contentment you experience after laying with the one who has your heart. Which one can you not live without? Choose wisely, nothing last forever. Playa!

Covet- To desire enviously (what belongs to another).

We are all blessed to shine in our own way. When I was rapping. I felt a lot of envy towards me because of the way I stood out. I collaborated with various artist. Never once did I covet another person's shine. There were times where I may have been out rapped a song but I knew if someone out did or tied me in the content usually the song would be exceptional. The reason for my surety was because I was confident in myself and I know GOD blessed us all to shine uniquely.

The goal is to be content with your gifts, potential, and surroundings, even if you feel like you are not where you are supposed to be. This is where faith prevails, faith that even though you may not be where you want to be, you are where you need to be. Faith in your makers will for your life and the gifts he has instilled in you.

I have been waking up in prison every day for 4 years now. I am currently housed in segregation for an altercation I got in for protecting me & my people from a hostile group. Every day I wake up to people screaming and threatening each other. I search for serenity through prayer and reading as my neighbor curses every day. He throws piss and feces out his door slot at guards everyday. At night, you hear people screaming unhuman like out of hopelessness and frustration from being confined so long. I feel like I am in HELL already. Many times my own heart is despaired with grief as feelings of oppression and abandonment sink in. I try to do right but trouble always seems to find me. I think of people I use to know getting married, having children, and enjoying their lives, my heart Covets. I read U.S Weekly, People Magazine, etc. Stars falling, stars rising, families, parties, My heart COVETS. I put on the radio; I listen to country, pop, R&B, and rap music. It makes me want to drink, party, be with a woman; my heart starts to COVET. But my reality is not to love or be loved right now. All I can feel is GODS love, and its real and its unconditional. I put the radio station on, praise and worship music. Where they speak of forgiveness and chains breaking. I feel at peace. Then I read books of knowledge and pray for comfort as I do my best to drown out the chaotic racket surrounding me.

My cell mate who is my homeboy from my neighborhood is a 23 year old father of 2 young children with a 30 year sentence. My sentence is a little less than half of his, so I have no room to complain. I do my best to cheer him up as I declare " this aint nothing to somebody out the hood." He smiles weakly at me and I can spot the sadness in his eyes. Sometimes he just sits and stares at one spot for long moments. I bring him back to reality; "snap out of it!" We both read our Bibles as if we are looking for answers, "why GOD? Why us?" Surely, we are the lesser evil of the true evil that still thrives out in the world. Even though it seems hopeless, I advise him "never lose faith, if we still waking up it's because we still have a purpose." This is an uphill battle that is more mental than anything.

There are times I perceive my situation; I stare at these desolate tiers, I smile and remind myself this is meant for me at the moment. I believe this is because at 8 years of age a prophetess prophesy to me "you will have the tears of Jeremiah." Was Jeremiah the prophet not imprisoned? I am sure he experienced my pain even though my confinement will be longer then his; he was imprisoned for his obedience to GOD as where I am imprisoned for my disobedience. Lamentations 3:39 "why should a living man complain, a man; about the punishment of sins?"

Many people write to me in confidence and share their heartbreaking stories with me. They entrust tome their painful secrets; via letters and email. I respond with words of encouragement, never expecting nothing in return. If I can uplift them with a word or two. I am content for I know this is GODS doing. It is mind boggling to see how many people are broken. At first, part of me was thinking, "really?" You are telling me about hard times. Then i realized prison and hell are not only physical but also a state of mind a lot of our problems are mental. I believe it has a lot to do with how we perceive life. It has a lot to do with envy, jealousy in other words coveting.

1. FAILURE

Failure- Failing to do or perform; A fracturing or giving way under stress while most people focus on success. I want to focus on failures. Failure is vital to success. You can rarely achieve without some level of failure. The reason many people are nit successful is because they do not take advantage of an oppurtunity out of fear of failure. Statistics show 85% of small businesses fail within their first two years. One of the greatest investors of our time Warren Buffett knee the value of failure. He was quoted saying "I woukd not invest into a business that has not failed twice". The majority of employers prefer to hire people with experience in failure, then people with no experience at all. This is the reason new college graduates have trouble finding jobs after school.

In todays society where successes are often facades overnight luck. We often frown upon failure. Failure should be welcomed, and should not be dishonorable. It in fact can be added to our experiences. Whether it is failure in business, relationships, or our personal goals. We should carefully failure examine each failure, recognize our blunder and apply our cogizant knowledge of what not to do, if we face the situation again. It is counter productive and a major error to fail and not imbibe the lesson. Many famous successful people have failed before finding success. Legendary comedian Steve Harvey lost every single comedy contest he entered before he became famous. Despite his losses he waa persistent in the pursuit of his gift. GOD had endowed him with making people laugh. Many of us are persistent, stubburn, and hard headed, but not in the things that matter such as in the areas our maker intended is to shine in. We are pertinaciously stubborn in hazardous aspects. How many times have we consumed alcohol and drove? How many times have we neen released from jail just to pursue the same thing that put us there. How many times have we laid with that person we never intended to commit too? How many times have we suffered consequences for our poor choices but still chased after our desires regardless who we hurt? Only if we were obstinate in the same way with the gifts and talents we are individually blessed with.

Just because you have failed at something does not mean you are a failure. Being a failure is choosing to "give way under stress" You may not choose to fail but choose to be a failure by your reaction to not succeeding , one by law in my affiliation is "never lay down or you will be blasted out." This is a rule to abide by everyday no matter who you are. When I first came to prison some survival advice I was given. If a riot ever happened, put your back against a wall, wrap a towel around your secondary arm. Use the towel as a shield as you strike with your primary hand. Usually the assaulter will possess a knife. If you got one or if you don't, never panic and never stop fighting. The choice to fight or the choice to 'give way" when being assaulted could be the difference between death & survival. This applies to our dreams and our lives in general. When failure seems eminent put your back against the wall and fight like your life depended on it until you succeed.

I was 25 years old when I was indicted by the feds. During my incarceration I had two choices, A. I could pity myself, become worse, trash my dreams, and succumb to my circumstances, or B. Better myself all around, pursue and add to my dreams. The first two years were the hardest mentally. I had to adapt and accept my situation. I went through many let downs from the people I chose to around me when I was free. I chose to fight , I chose to not be a victim. For every negative remark I heard people speak of me. I imbrued it in my mind on my soul and fed it to the fire burning inside of me. I was determined more & more as each day passed to be a champ or and overcomer. Not just for me but for everybody who has felt the pain and the hopelessness that I've felt. I've written books, poems, and many songs. I chose to utilize my time efficiently. I read to gain insight and knowledge. I'm in the best shape of my life. I learned to lean on GOD and have faith in his plan for my life. Knowing he will bless my personal & business life. On his timing not mines. I do not fear failure. I have failed many times, so I have learned my lessons. I've lost everything but I'm better then I ever been. To lose yourself is to find yourself. Learn to prosper through your failures.

Violence Surge

November 8th 2018 (Thursday)

So something that has been on my mind lately is the Violence Surge that has been going on in Chicago lately. Many of the victims are teenagers. We may feel like this is far from our communities if you're not from there or their state. We have a duty to be aware and do our parts for that community. What starts in one place can and will spread to other places over time. Just as the Gangs that came from that area is now world wide.

First off let me make this CLEAR "violence does not solve anything:. It will not make somebody pay a debt. It will not bring a loved one back from the dead to bring vengeance upon the person you believe responsible for the act of killing somebody. We as a society have to be able to look for the right ways to deal with things and do better.THINK before you pull the trigger, once you kill somebody they will NEVER come back. That action impacts many lives negatively. Parents lose children and vice verse. Not only does it impact the victim and their families, but it impacts the shooter and their family as well. It is a lose lose situation. Spiritually it depletes the shooters soul and mentally it changes your mind. Too have that on your conscience is a heavy burden and every killer I know regrets taking the life of a man whether he is Incarcerated or not. The eyes and the cries of his victim haunt him forever.

The part of being a man is understanding the power you have and utilizing it for the good of the people. There is nothing flattering about killing people. Nowadays its a fad to brag about bodies. I only feel sorry for somebody if that's all they have to brag about because it is nothing and holds no weight in society. I've seen many people get hurt, its not a pretty sight. I've had no satisfaction out of watching or participating in these senseless events. Sometimes it is necessary to protect you or your family but other that that I feel if a man uses violence he has failed himself as a man because there is nothing in this world that cannot be fixed through conversation or understanding. Politically I do not believe government should take our Guns. Guns don't kill people, people do. What will happen if people start using chainsaws and motor vehicles too kill? Will they take those too? The government uses our own actions against us to punish us. So this is just something to put on your mind. If you put positivity into the world it will come back, its the law of nature.
