They donāt quote Malcolm as much because the truth hurts.
Maybe hes not quoted due to the fact that MLK promoted tolerance, equality and to my mind what MLK was fighting for was positive. Malcom X was a black supremacist, wanted the separation of Blacks and Whites, and rejected the civil rights movement. Promoting Malcom X is literally as bad as promoting the KKK. And as a fact of historyĀ Nazi Germanyās failure was due to starting a war on too many fronts, i.e with the Russians, and not their aryan views.
white ignorance knows no bound. NO BOUNDS⦠malcomn x is as bad as the kkk who was KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR COLOR. okay
one more timeā¦
because if youāre taught that the man who said that black people should DEFEND themselves against people (including the kkk and racist cops) who literally hunt them down and kill them is THE SAME as the kkk and racist cops who hunt them and kill them because of their color, then you too far gone to be saved. @imperator-gains is displaying classic white ignorance. classic ahistorical illogical white ignorance.Ā
This is why you need to know your own history. Malcolm X was a black nationalist, NOT a black supremacist. If you actually know your history, youād know that even then, Malcolm Xās views changed as he got older and as time went on. He eventually parted ways with Elijah Muhammad because Malcolm X disagreed with him. Malcolm X didnāt believe in integration because he wanted the black community to be self-sufficient, with its own businesses and economy. Later he said that white people would do best if they work on educating other white people about the truth of racism and white supremacy, instead of trying to integrate with the black community.
Malcolm X also believed in the right to self-defense, which is one of your basic human rights.
Some real Malcolm X quotes:
āI am not a racist. I am against every form of racism and segregation, every form of discrimination. I believe in human beings, and that all human beings should be respected as such, regardless of their color.ā
āBe peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.ā
And look at what Malcolm said about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
ā I want Dr. King to know that I didnāt come to Selma to make his job difficult. I really did come thinking I could make it easier. If the white people realize what the alternative is, perhaps they will be more willing to hear Dr. King.ā
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said this about Malcolm X:
āI always had a deep affection for Malcolm and felt that he had a great ability to put his finger on the existence and the root of the problem. He was an eloquent spokesman for his point of view and no one can honestly doubt that Malcolm had a great concern for the problems we face as a race.ā
So what on earth does that have to do with the KKK? The KKK was a hate group which killed black people and hunted them down. Malcolm X said, āWe are nonviolent with people who are nonviolent with us.ā BIG DIFFERENCE.
@alwaysbewoke is right, if you donāt know basic facts like this, how are you going to have an intelligent discussion on race and black history at all? Learn a bit before you just start saying things.
More white people need to understand that if you donāt even have a grasp on basic history, thereās no such thing as being an ally. How can you help people if you think Malcolm X is on the level of the KKK? Have enough humility to admit you donāt know everything, and then start doing real research so you can find the truth.
For centuries Western scholarship, and the African scholars seduced by this body of knowledge, have not been interested in African āreligionsā per se, but what was worse, African scholars began not to study indigenous African spirituality on its own terms but through European eyes and intellectual categories. Okot p'Bitek, who is best known for Song of Lawino, was one of the first African scholars to call attention to this situation and argue African scholars need not āHellenizeā African spiritual practices and ideas and that what we have come to think as āAfrican religionsā are European versions in African disguise. This publication, along with a new introduction by Ghanaian philosopher Kwasi Wiredu, reintroduces a classic work to a new generation, especially for those with an interest in African spiritual cultures and in need of ādecolonizingā them so that they be studied, appreciated, and engaged on their own cultural and historic terms.
RIGHT! Africans have giving everything to the Europeans and gained nothing from it
