Benjamin smiled back at his father, remaining silent as he took in what his father was saying. “I know that, I have had losses that I am able to put to the back of my mind, move on and concentrate on the next patient and learn from the deaths… but It’s just played on my mind and I just… I guess I needed to vent… I’m sorry for putting all this on you, dad..” Benjamin admitted.Â
“Stop, you haven’t put anything more on me than all the doctors before you that went through the same thing. I promise you Benjamin it will get easier, eventually.” He reassured his son that the nagging feeling he felt now would one day fade. “Just tell yourself that there wasn’t anything else you could have done, and that you did all that you could do. Make peace with yourself son.”

She hated feeling so weak and vulnerable. Especially around her family. “The hunger.. the emotions, it’s all driving me insane. The moment I smell blood, I almost lose all control and kill. I can’t.. I can’t kill again.”
Elijah looked at his daughter. “I understand what you are going through Skylar, the hunger, the lust for more until it’s gone and you realize what you’ve done.” Even if the memory had been behind his door a long time ago he had been made aware of the best he had once been and in some regards still were. “We were mistakes, vampires. No one knew how powerful we’d really be with the dark magic used. I understand the urge to not want to kill. I have journals full with all the lives I have taken. The point is Skylar, the more you tell yourself no? The more you will crave it, I am not saying kill but work small, pull yourself back.”

“Always so uptight, brother.” Klaus grinned as he took his feet off the desk. “Yes, yes do whatever makes the wife happy. As for Madeline, I’m sure everything will be alright. I do remember her being a bit jealous when the twins came around.”
“Always so cynical, little brother.” He told his brother but he nodded. “Seems to be the sentiment, or at least the attempt. This is different then a little jealousy however. I want her to be happy, truly. I just want to be kept abreast about my children's whereabouts. I should have simply put a tracker in them or something.” He mused.

“I am simply making myself at home.” Klaus grinned and let out a small laugh. “I think you would look great with white hair, brother. Perhaps you should dye it?” The hybrid joked. “I have heard a little talk about things with Madeline.”
“I see that, I’d prefer if you kept your feet off of my desk though.” He shook his head. “I am not sure my wife would want an old man, she quite happens to enjoy the thirty four year old version of me that I have been eternally stuck at. I know she likes older men, but I am not sure that old.” He said laughing softly as he nodded. “Things are strained, at best. I am hoping for a resolution to the issues soon though. You know she has a soft spot when it comes to me. As does Hope and lennox for you.”

Natalya smiled and walked over towards the Original, “My mother taught me a great deal of things, very few of which still apply today.” She laughed softly, “How have you been?”
Elijah smiled as he motioned for the woman to take the stool next to him. “I seem to remember a few of the things from a few hundred years ago.” He mused a bit as he shrugged. “I’ve been fairing alright. How about you? Things have been quiet from you lately.”

“Well then I guess I would like to make my bumps as small as possible and less frequent.” He shrugged looking over at his father. He wasn’t really sure what to feel, apart of it had to be instinct right? But how much was too much? “Uhhh…” He turned to look away, blowing out a breath. “I think I just need a blood bag or two and then I’ll be in tip top shape again. It’s fine.”
“Why thank you, don’t tell your brothers, but you have just become my favorite son.” He joked a little, Elijah would never pick favorites when it came to his children they didn’t need a pandemonium caused by that. “Blood cravings? Control comes with age as you know. Even then so. I picture your mother’s most disapproving face if I ever get out of hand. Because that’s one look I never enjoy seeing, and wouldn’t want to see.” It was no secret Elijah wanted his wife happy.

“I just don’t want to feel this pain..” She sobbed into her dad. The pain was what put her over the edge most days. “How do you deal with the guilt daddy? How do you deal with being a vampire because I still suck.”
“I know you don’t Sky, but love the pain will fade I promise.” He reassured her, he swore he’d never compel his children but he almost wanted to compel her pain away for her, he couldn’t though. She had to learn how to deal, eventually he knew that survival instinct would kick in. “I don’t deal with guilt very well love, but I have your mother to keep me in line. Well I’d make some pun about how we do suck blood but I will refrain.” Elijah gave his daughter a smile. “What parts of being a vampire though?”

Benjamin nodded his head and moved away from the babies before crossing his arms over his chest with a sigh as he listened to everything his father had said. “I know… I know… I know better than that.. and I know I’m being silly but it just got to me is all..” Benjamin admitted. Benjamin smiled at his father before a small laugh passed his lips. “Yeah…You, mom all of us… they do have a lot of people to get though before getting to the twins..” Benjamin looked to his father.. “Can I ask you something… you don’t have to answer… but…have you ever had a patient you couldn’t shake for some reason?”Â
“Surgeons are not meant to be foolproof, sometimes even we can’t perform the miracles were used to seeing.” He told his son as he then gave him a small smile. “It’s no surprise that I have had one or two but I just file it away and move on to the next patient. We can not get those that are dead back.” He reminded his son, and at the moment he didn’t want to explain to Benjamin the whole red door existence because quite frankly he never wanted that for any of his children.

The past few days had been entirely uneventful for her, having spent them locked away within her apartment – even failing to open the shop. Hope was struggling – she was on edge, and it was beginning to show in everything she did. She knew she couldn’t stay in her apartment forever, nor would her family even allow her to do so. It had been a good hour since she’d chosen to go out, and already she was beginning to regret it, having bumped into someone who wasn’t the nicest – Hope’s jaw clenching, her nails digging into the palms of her hands in an effort to keep her aggression at bay. She fled from the scene, quickly hurrying off in another direction when her frame collided with another person’s. “I – I’m really sorry,” she mumbled out, her gaze lifting to meet the other’s. “I just – I couldn’t handle that person anymore,” she attempted to joke.
When he felt a person bump into him he quickly caught their arms he relaxed seeing it was Hope. “You aren’t a face I have seen in a while, are you alright?” He questioned his niece and gave her a wry smile at her joke. “Yes well, guess its good for them that you walked away.” He attempted to lighten her humor a bit as he glanced her over making sure she was alright before he released her.Â

Elijah just rolled his eyes at his brother’s antics, resisting the urge to knock his feet off of his desk. “Some level of decorum Niklaus would be lovely.” He told his brother simply. “Things are a bit crazy, hopefully settling soon. These kids I swear, if I wasn’t eternally this age they’d make my hair go white by now.”

Elijah let out a huff when his wife flipped them over, and was back in control, part of him wanted to take that control from her but with how deep he was pressing and the fact that her walls were pulsing down his entire length, made him get that much closer. He gave his wife access, if he knew she’d leave a mark he’d be rolling his eyes knowing he’d heal though he didn’t care too much. There was something sexy about her with her fangs, as he groaned the moment her fangs sank into his neck, his length began to throb against those flesh walls, as his hands slid down to grab his wife’s flesh as he hung onto her not wanting to part an inch from his wife.Â

His hearing picked up her whine, and as much as he wanted the frenzied hard love making with his wife, he also wanted to savor the moment just for a few seconds that they were finally reconnected. “For once I am offering.” He told her huskily, he usually was the one that needed a taste but as much as he enjoyed the taste that was uniquely his wife he figured this time he’d give her a go. His hands continued to tease against her chest for a moment as his movements slowly picked up pace wanting to chase that high again with his wife.

Elijah could feel his wife biting hard enough to break his lip open a bit, he shivered as her tongue just swept across the coppery liquid, before her lips were crashing into his, he slowed his movements for a moment, his eyes darkened as he looked down at her. “Is that all you are going to do?” He teased between their interlocking lips, he never minded, he knew it heightened things for both of them. He nudged against her for a moment, his calloused worn fingers traced patterns into her olive toned flesh, as they danced over her ribs and higher until just ever so softly his thumbs brushed the underside of her breasts. He never got tired of mapping out every inch of his wife’s body.
