Originally my goals for this month within this course was to explore and test services and design processes and focus on creating a 3-D model of my product and lastly explore and test topics on product design and creation. During weeks 1 and 2 in the course we discussed very important parts of the creative process in design thinking and we also looked at principles in building a product. In a nutshell it was very interesting to understand key measures that would be taken from the lean start-up and brought out into reality the concepts that promotes taking the best steps towards eliminating risk. We looked into areas such as Startups vs. Big Companies and defined what Good design really is. In weeks 3 and 4 we spent time developing the products that would be focused on inside the business venture. Knowing exactly what you need to tune or tweak inside your business model to bring your idea to completion you must be able to solve a problem with your solution. I met my goals in this course by completing the necessary assignments that would be useful in my future. How I will be applying the things I learned from this course is being able to teach back my own concepts through using my smart start canvas. Always having a hand pocket guide to be able to explain to others the process to make your idea become more realistic and approachable.

My original goal from this course was to learn the designing techniques behind creating a innovative work environment and also create my own space that works well with my company.

My goal was met during this course by reading the many articles from Gensler’s 2013 U. S. Workplace survey and reading the articles on Gensler’s 2016 Workplace survey as well.

What I learned in these articles was how designing the workplace environment you need to focus on certain areas and focusing on the type of relationships you would like to bring out in your companies’ culture. I learned in this week that by focusing on this such as management and leadership you can find areas where your venture would need to implement these perspectives and points inside of your venture. In my own venture I will always use these tactics in order to create company culture and to inspire others to focus more attention in making sure your employees feel valuable in your organization.

In week two we focused more on learning about your specific office space and what are the material needed for your office space to thrive. Not only did we look at those important aspects of learning about what is making your working space complete, we also looked at what create the atmosphere that you need in order to not work in a chaotic environment. Having things such as music or television in your working space you at least still give your employees connection to the rest of the world. The designing phases in your work environment needs to compliment the people that will be working in the environment and have things that are accommodating to their needs and possibly wants. Having a bowl of chocolate or a bowl of chips to snack on in your office space or having a coffee maker can also make all the difference when your employees maybe hungry or need a small snack.

In weeks three and four I learned more about incubators and accelerators and working inside of a coworking space. What I found out is more interesting because I do not have any of those places near my current location. This has opened the door for me to look and research more on developing that type of business in my area. In week four things got more clearer in the development of my own working environment. What is most valuable in the course that I can take away and incorporate in my own venture is having that technique to think like a designer and what they have to accomplish to see the final product that you will be working in.

Business Model Presentation and Thesis

My original goal in this course was not as intriguing as my goals for my previous courses. The goals I set for this course was to have a formal presentation of my story and have written documentation that backs up my presentation. I wanted to keep it light, but I also wanted to give myself time to reflect in this course and not strain myself before launch. The biggest and most important goal I had in this course was to have fun.

This was an experience of a lifetime and I did not want to steal the smile that would come from completing the full program. How my goals were met in this course definitely came from meeting with my advisor a few times before my final presentation. It gave me more time to assess myself and the feedback that was given. I did feel that I could have done a little better in my presentation, but overall, I think that I was able to apply the feedback on my presentation to make it presentable. What I’ve learned from this course was to not give up and even though I may have been tired at sometimes throughout the program, all of my hard work began to slowly settle in and it also gave me the extra push to make sure that I was able to turn in my assignments. The top 10 things you should know before entering business was also a great help. Learning how to work social media and how to be brief when doing business was very helpful as I am beginning to launch my business.

The way I will apply the material learned in the course personally and professionally will be how I am presenting my information out to the public. My elevator pitch will become a quick way to start casual conversations in public when I’m looking for new clients and also using my explainer video on social media sites. It will help with marketing my business under a budget and using what free advertising I can. I think the greatest use I will gain from the material is being able to teach my son everything I’ve learned. Though he is fairly young at this moment, I can always go back and add my experiences to what I have learned and will continue to learn after the program and be able to teach or give advice on the subject.

business model & management

My original goals for this course was to take my business model and turn it into reality by seeing and finding a tangible piece of information that would give me proper steps to implement in my business. I wanted to focus on the vital sources that allows my business to operate, and lastly take my academic research and analysis and apply theoretical principals to my operational phase.

Before taking the course, I was a little unsure as to what key factors I wanted to really grasp, but after going through each week and assignments, I was able to adjust my focus area and find what type of information I was looking for. I believe my goals was met in the course by learning in week one about six different leadership traits that successful leaders should have. In our readings from week one we experienced what effective leaders use to improve their styles of management. Looking at areas such as the coercive style and authoritative style when making decisions in your environment you will be able to gauge the way you see your turnaround and focus on your companies’ vision.

In week one we also looked into areas where entrepreneurs will be challenged to become flexible and open minded to the many obstacles that you will be approaching in your venture. During week two we focused more on how to effectively use performance measures and developing metrics that would attribute to gaining the best awareness of the value of your products and services. By participating in the discussion in week two, I was able to see how other points of views seek to handle functions of management and what type of functions are more resourceful. What was more intriguing during week two was being able to measure the collected information and figuring out what type of information should be collected. Using principles that will focus more on design thinking and striving to improve your planning metrics can help mold your management functions.

During weeks three and four, I found myself hitting a stumbling block, but I was able to reach my drawing board again and now see the bigger picture. The feedback loop assignment taught me why it is important to work with your customers feedback to perfect your products and services. In the discussion board we spoke about process improvement and one of the things that stuck out to me was from one of my peers. When you want to retain customers and help define who your customers will be you may want to figure what type of ways you can gain great feedback from your customers without having them work so hard. The best way to tackle a situation like this would be to know what type of questions you want to be answered by your customers through finding the right questions to ask. When looking at what will be measurable and what will be useful to improve your business, you want to use the plan, do, check, and act cycle. When you become familiar with how it works you can apply the specific changes that will help your business.

Finally, how I believe this course allowed for me to reach my goals, really comes down to how well can you comprehend the content in front of you. By taking this course I was able to learn how to fully be prepared to bring your business model to life and become proactive in managing the day-to-day operations. In weeks four we covered a few topics within human resources. Knowing the type of employees, you need to effectively complete the task will be a very important part to your success and having the right candidate available to you is also crucial. The assignment carries you back to home base where you are making your fine tunings to be ready for your investors. When you can take your who, what, when, where, how, and why you can be surer that you are solving a definite problem with your solutions. The goals were met through completing the assignments and discussions. Having the right strategies that you can implement in your work environment and your model, you can be at a better strategic position to make adjustment if needed or to continue moving forward.

Once you began to engage with others and still focus on your own venture you can see the type of growth that needs to be present for you to be at launch stages. You can pick up from what your peers think is important and be able to voice why you believe your methods are going to work. How I will be applying this material in my own venture will come from having the channels such as tumbler and my notes to build a curriculum that can be used by anyone looking to make necessary changes to their company, their business model, or to improve their work environment. While using these methods and learning tools in my classes, I can see where it can benefit all businesses if they spent more time developing their curriculum towards effective management.

My original goals for this course are as followed to gain control over managing innovation, creativity design, concept creation, and workflow. Secondly, effectively communicate the entrepreneurial vision and create collaborative teams. My final goal was to study the work environments. My goals were met by learning from peers and doing my own research of what an innovative work environment should be like. Along the way I saw what other entrepreneurs are in the mindset of doing to create an innovative work environment. What I was able to learn throughout innovative work environments helped me gain new knowledge from doing the assignment and discussion post. In the very first week we looked back at our past jobs we held, and it allowed for myself and my classmates to have a better understanding of why we choose the entrepreneurship and innovation program. Also, in the same week I learned about the importance of a workplace design in the state of America. Week two assignment cool office environments I was able to do more research on how I can have an innovative functional workplace to be a place where employees can be happy to work Lastly in week four I was able to explain my current work environment and how I plan on making it even better. The material learned in the course can be applied to both my personally life and professionally ventures by taking the advice or feedback that was given from my peers to make sure I have multiple successful business ventures and to make sure I can become the best person at what I set out to do so my customers will be loyal and bring even more customers because they will get to see the good that my company wants to do. from what I was able to gain so far along the way in each month I want to take my company globe so we can innovate in different parts of the world.

My original goals for this course was to take business feasibility and apply tactics for marketing and building brand notoriety, study digital and direct selling techniques, and focus on the story of the business. This goal was met in this course by the material studied and as well as the assignments that where given. In completing the assignments, I have found a new way of looking at marketing. Marketing uses art as its basis and allows for a dialogue with the people it comes in contact with through the advertisement of the content or product or even the service itself. I learned in this course that by using Strategies and tactics that will help your solutions and problems as a guide when you become stuck or not knowing which way to turn. I learned that your target market is very essential to the development of your marketing plan. You are expected to produce a value in your product and in order to create that value you must need a way for your customers to see the product or service. Along the way in this course I was able to learn more about branding in our week one discussion and how to create a website. These are key tools in marketing when putting your information out to the public. In my own venture I can already see the changes that I can still make and will always have a new way creating value in your marketing plan. It is interesting when building your potential customers character based off demographics and the geographical location you now have a base line that can house so many potential customers, but as you begin to hone in on your target you begin to see the many obstacles that each customer may face when dealing with your product or service and it allows for you to be able to seek for a better way to communicate with that audience. Vanessa Rodriguez states in her article Marketing to Millennials, “Reaching millennials isn’t necessarily hard, it just requires a strategy overhaul. It’s time to create an authentic, interactive, “show me who your company really is” approach that many brands have never had to employ to reach previous generations. Marketing to millennials is something that must be done on their terms, through their channels. Katie Elfering of CEB Icon culture summed this up brilliantly in an interview for Forbes.com: “First, understand and speak to the values that drive them – happiness, passion, diversity, sharing and discovery. Second, understand their realistic lifestyles and experiences and find ways to amplify their reality. And, finally, make sure they feel informed and involved, not just marketed to.”

My original goals for this course was to review and critique brainstorm of funding, secure financial decisions within the business plan, research alternative financing and future business plan. My goals were met by learning not only what I was looking forward too, but I was also exposed to some new information and how to approach different avenues in this course.

In week one I was able to learn how to narrow down my pitch as an elevator pitch and how to handle a financial statement. Week two I learned about different business models and which one best fits my ventures. Week three I got to grasp a better understanding of a crowdfunding video because of doing research for the assignment. Finally, in week four I was able to research a few methods of determining the value of a startup this was actually a little more interesting because with the development of gathering the specific things needed to run your business you can use certain formulas or methods to determine whether your financial plan is worth the Hussle and bustle when moving forward in your decisions related to your ventures capital. Be using realistic projections of how much your spending to operate and what your expected to make based on your product or service and how well it is being sold to the public.

In my Business model I will need to know exactly what financial decisions to make in order for a successful venture to sustain itself through its beginning stages all the way to becoming operational. By taking this course and completing the assignments for each week I can always go back to each step and relook at what is worth spending money on and what is more important to have to operate when gathering each item that is needed for you to make a sale and have a constant flow of customers. Always having a guide for you to look and see what is needed for adjustments. This is very important in being proactive with your business and not allowing someone else to make mistakes that would lead to financial problems in your business.

Legal issues

My original goal for this course was to establish legal efficiency in business law, obtain all legal documentation for business production, and also focus on the location.

My goals were met by understanding contracts in the business process and having a legal plan of action in existence in your business model it should be one of the first things you should be aware of as a business owner. My goal was also met by studying negotiation tactics and understanding why they are important. I was able to explore local, state, and federal laws and rules that will regulate my business. My goal was also met by seeing how social media and cyber law is important for your business venture. From my discussions I learned from my peers that having an LLC for a business structure you need to make sure that it is best suited for the type of business that you want to operate, and you should be openminded when dealing with your team. I also learned that having an LLC you may have problems such as showing a taxable income after all your write- offs are implemented at the end of the year.

In taking this course I learned the difference between mediation, litigations, and arbitration. I learned about which business structures are best suited for my business ventures. I researched issues efficiently and accurately that would hold solid evidence for why my business structure and policies are formed the way they are. I have also learned how to review contracts that I may use in my business and how to protect trademarks, patent, and copywrites. I have also learned how to distinguish intellectual property.

Based off of assignments and reading material I have a collection of resourceful information that I will be using in my business venture as well as teaching others what I have learned. Keeping my collection of raw material that was based off of case study and academic research the information is professional and creditable and can now be redistributed to someone else.

Entrepreneurial Finance Mastery Journal Assignment

My original goal for this course was to review and critique brainstorm of funding, secure financial decisions within the business plan, and also research alternative financing and future business plan.

My goal was met through research and evaluation, understanding cash flow, sticking to your budget, being exposed to stocks, lines of credit, investments and investors, also other options for funding. In week one I was able to learn about focusing on key performance measures that are essential to an entrepreneur in ourtu discussion, but then I was also introduced to elevator pitching in our first assignment where I developed the necessary skills needed to prepare and present an effective Elevator Pitch to potential investors for any of my future ventures. I also had the opportunity to develop my skills in analyzing different financial statements while using financial ratios as a main tool of analysis in weeks one financial statement assignment. In week two I was able to discuss the different ways it would cost to acquire a customer base and using different platforms to get business in the door. The second assignment in week two opened important information about the Revenue model, Cost model, Profit model, and exit and failure. In my paper for week two I had to write about turning customers into revenue streams using the SMART start model. In the discussion for week three I learned about cash flow in and out of a business also about a few key terms like the timing of payment, revenue, receivables, deposits, and prepaid. For my week three assignment I was able to come up with the estimated startup cost for my business and in the second assignment I got a good grip on what crowdfunding can do for my business. In week four of this course I was able to gain an understanding of business valuation and how new business owners would have to forecast its valuation over a company that has been established for over ten years. My week four assignment was asked of me to complete a profit and loss statement and a breakeven analysis for my new company.

What I was able to gain from this course was how to manage your finances effectively. Investing into stocks and other investments can in return work for the betterment of my companies. This course also lets me know I am on the right track with my own research that I have been doing prior to entering into each course. In each week I would be open to gaining new knowledge and I was able to do just that and now I am going to put it all into action.

By using my financial plan and other resources. By exposing others to financial planning and stability. Personally, I plan on using what I gained in the course towards gaining financial stability and have a few personal stocks before taking the big jump with my business to get a good grip on the stock market. Professionally I plan on implementing different thing into my business, so it has the best chance at success.

1. What your original goal was for this course.

My goal was to research key elements for success in the business model development. I also wanted to collaborate my academic tools and outside resources. My last goal was to focus on revenue streams and competitive advantages for constant revenue.

2. How the goal was met by the course.

These goals were met by this course by challenging my effort to support my idea and develop my solutions for the problems in my venture. By building my canvas and surrounding my idea with structural evidence from research and application and applying my feedback into my research I am able to guide my problem and solution in the direction it should for success.

3. What you learned from this course.

What I learned from this course is by revisiting your MVP as much as you can and also taking time to play around in your canvas you can tweak your weak areas and you also have a drawing board for when problems arise. With this box of tools, you are now cable of tackling any issue that arises because you bring your problems to your drawing board and collectively with your team you can analysis those elements and re-arrive to that aha moment so that you consistently making changes towards a forward motion instead of changes that will completely disrupt revenue.

4. How you will apply the material learned in the course personally or professionally.

As I am in the development stages of this venture I am able to build my brochure as well as build a business model around my idea. Where I have really taken an interest in this business venture is to actually build my 3D model building that will house my travel agency. This travel agency is connected through my operating company which develops other business ventures. The rights and assets of those businesses will be held by my two holding companies and thus this small local travel agency starts out as a home base startup and its destiny is to arrive in the future with the travel industry and as the industry is in a what’s next phase by using the more advanced ways of technology to keep up with trends we began to set our own trends through building relationships with our customers.
