Julian raised an eyebrow as his new coworker walked out briskly, surprised at the enthusiasm. He remembered how he felt on his first day, the idea of a covert bank guard taking down the bad guys trying to rob a bank, and he smiled to himself. It was a terribly boring job, so he slowly sat up and followed. “I’ll give you the ‘grand tour’.”
As they walked out of the back hall, he pointed to a large room. You could see into it through the windows but the doors required what looked like a card key, something Julian would never hold. Through the window was a square, white room with double doors on the other side. “That’s where they keep some of the safety deposit boxes. God only knows what some people have in there. I saw some guys, could’a sworn they were cartel, come in here and dump $500s by the bucket.” He grinned at Eli. “I’ve seen people deposit keys to who knows where, wives stashing cash behind their husbands’ backs…” He looked back to the room. “It makes you wonder what these people have going for them.”
He looked at the room while Julian talked. It was mighty tempting but he promised himself that he wouldn't rob people anymore. Robbing people is wrong. Robbing people hurts them. I wouldn't want to be robbed. He thought to himself while Julian spoke of cartels and sneaky housewives.
"Less than ten years ago I would've been all over that. I'd figure out a way in there and clean you out," He smiled at him, "Lucky for you, I turned over a new leaf, Julie! I'm all for the forces of truth...and JUSTICE now."
He chuckled a little, "Tell me about yourself. What'd you do before this?"
