I strongly suspect these brothers don’t have other family to take care of them — it’s pretty common for orphaned kids to enter the care of Buddhist monasteries and it’s also common for them to take to the streets

so like, I’m making assumptions here, but what I’m seeing are two brothers who are the only family they’ve got in the world, who took two very different paths to make it, but they’ve still got the closest relationship in the world and they love each other a lot
