my friend and i had a picnic by the beach, where we sat in the shade of the trees to eat and chat and read and play chess and it was very nice and this was the only picture i managed to take. which is also kinda nice, because that means i will have the pleasure of remembering this day as a memory.

i find it quite exciting and enigmatic, that is, to not photograph the activity itself but rather the mundane pre-moment / post-moment, that is, the in-betweens.

perhaps this is an invitation to keep some of the moments off the record. maybe it is a call to make the simple moments special. or maybe i'm just trying to make up for a lack of insta-worthy pics.

but, if you truly want a moment to last, experience it.

One must sit a moment in silence upon waking to rid themselves of midnight beasts. This to clear the mind and prevent the horrid creatures from festering throughout the day.
