The main reason I love animation is how much character you can show with just a few images.

So in this image, this dude just spilled wine on Alastor and he seems to be giving the man the benefit of the doubt. A gentleman admits to his mistakes and makes amends afterall. Alastor fully expects this bloke to apologise and he'll probably move on.

Now we see that this guy is now deliberately spilling more wine on Alastor because he thinks it's funny. Why is he so disrespectful of him? I mean, it's most likely racism right? It was the 30s afterall.

And now Alastor has decided "Ok, fuck this guy!" This is no longer a misunderstanding between two gentlemen. This is a snobby, rich arsehole treating a man like crap because he sees him as an inferior.

Without a single line, we get so much of Alastor's character. He's polite and proper and is perfectly fine with forgiving a few minor mistakes. But if you disrespect him? Oh... now you're fucked.
